He's right. The bible is there for our spiritual growth and not for financial growth. While some Pastors are using the bible to get rich, through the same bible their church members are suffering in poverty. He's directly speaking to those Pastors who are lazy and directly using Bible to collect wealth from others in the name of tithe/seed sowing. If the same could make both parties rich it would have been better.
God uses His children to bless His other children. I'd lean more to giving for the work of God rather than tithing out of fear or favour. God wants us to give to the needy and help the poor.
Good you says God used his children to blessed other children and not to bless just some but all. Use your seed to bless the widows, orphans, sick, and prisoners not just one person.

Someone who has been oweing me money and refused to pay back was giving excuse that he needs to pay tithe from his salary and that whatever remains wouldn't be enough to refund me. People can be so wicked.

Pastors at Christ Embassy should take note. The Regional Pastor in Poland tried threatening us with the first fruit doctrine. In my mind, I said “This is where we’re going to have a problem”. Imagine the amount of offerings that they collect monthly!!
The issue there is when these people forces their members to pay...
God never forces us to Obey any of his commands....but however there are blessings attached to any of his commands we obey willingly.
tithes and offerings are commandments and should be giving joyful for God loves a cheerful giver.
I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints and whenever I pay my tithes, I pay in the office of the Bishopric in the presence of at least two members of the Bishopric and I am given a receipt signed by the Bishop himself and it is the duty of the clerk to post all these information in the church central information.....and the Bishop to take that money and put it in the bank the next working day.
the money goes directly to the Church's central Bank account, I can check it anytime because I have my Church record number, I am also given my financial statement every quarter to confirm if it tally with what i have on the receipt.
Our church leaders are not paid for being Bishops or....they all work and also pay their own tithes and offerings.
Church leaders are called and can be released at anytime and replaced with another whom the Lord thought will magnify that particular position at a particular time..... because their leadership position is not a job but it's rather a calling.
I left Christ embassy for their greed, offerings for everything, asking us to use our credit card to pay church contribution. Offer 7 for pastor Chris, every pastor in christ embassy started expecting members to make their own birthday. Plegdes should I go on, on a Sunday we had up to 5 contributions. It was too much I had to leave, they make you feel guilty about money more than sin. They don't make you guilty of your sin but of not giving them money.

If we look at it though, an average tither can never be as wealthy as a Mega Pastor, that does the collection of tithe and huge seeds, in their lifetime. Such Mega Pastor can only be compared to wealthy Celebrities and not to any faithful tither. And no billionaire can truly pay their tithe, they just tithe out of the token they have decided to pay themselves as "salary".

The problem with many pastors is that while trying to communicate the truth they still dive into error. How can you say Abraham is an oppressor, he is wicked and he traded his wife for money. That's is not true, you can read the book of Genesis and you will see that pastor Abel was lying. God also said he will bless Solomon with riches so it was beyond just being a king, he was super rich, Gold were like stones in his days. He was stinkingly rich through the blessings of God that bible says before him and after him was no one who is as rich as him. Is a pure lie that God can't make a man rich. Bible says the Lord will supply all your need according to his riches in Christ Jesus. Yes i know many pastors are taking advantage of people but don't let us dive into error.
How I appreciate when someone knows the truth and appreciate it through objection. Dr. Abel Damina is heretic preacher. This is just one out of many. He said Enoch and Elijah died as against the clarity of the scriptures concerning them. He was once a tithe collector. I saw the video myself when he was motivating his congregation to pay tithes. He suddenly turn around to kick against it as if he never collected tithe before.
He believes he knows the Bible more than any pastor in the world. He's good at attacking men of God. Influencing his congregation to mock other men of God. He's never a good example to follow.

The major problem our people have is ignorance of the word of God. The apostles never talked about tithe. Jesus mentioned it just once, and he mentioned it not as a matter of importance. I stopped doing so a long time ago. The time of these pastors who actually know the truth but hide it so as to made merchandize of the people is up.
But tithes is in the old testament and the same Jesus said on Matthew 5 v17-22 that He did not come to destroy the law and the prophet but He came for them to be fulfilled
I am a Christian and I believe in tithing. In my over 36 years of following Jesus. I know that tithing is of God. It dates as far back as the days of Melchizedek. It is an ordinance of God . I have lived it and have had ministrations from the Lord concerning it. Yes, men of God abused it but it does not make it wrong. What is wrong is that the followership has not known God enough to study for themselves and know the mind of God on issues such as this. Please I plead with everyone to go back to the scriptures and find out what to the is and many ways tithes can be paid. May we not be carried about by every wind of doctrine even very unscriptural doctrines. God bless you.
Tithe is for Jewish people who followed the law of Moses.
Christians are gentiles and not Jews.
If you pay tithe which is of the law, then you must ensure to obey all other mosaic laws.
Secondly, do you realize that tithing was for Jews who practiced agriculture? It's all scriptural. Tithe has never been money as evidenced in the old testament.
Question 1: are a Jew or a Christian?

Tithing is a commandment and a principle.
God can still bless us even without we paying our tithes but paying our tithes shows our love and gratitude for what God has given us.

The Malachi you quoted is directed to the priests! Read from Malachi chapter 1 and see who it opens with. So if Hod blesses you because you pay tithe, then his blessings are not free, it is transactional. Same thing Satan does. What of those who pay their tithe yet no blessings, does it mean God doesn’t love them? Or God is partial in honoring his word? Genesis 20: 1-16 You would see that when Abraham and his wife, Sarah, emigrated to the Southern region of Gerar, Abimelechi, the king, saw Sarah and liked her. And because Abraham wanted to find favor before the King, Abraham told the King that Sarah was his Sister. Accordingly, Abimelechi proceeded to taking Sarah as Wife, but God stopped Abimelechi, as Sarah was already married to Abraham.
In this story, Abraham was seen trying to sale his wife's beauty for riches. That's the story Dr. Abel is referring to. Abraham is the father of Nations doesn't mean he didn't do some shady things.

There is no truth he is speaking. That somebody is a pastor does not make him a man of God.
It's really not just about his exposition about tithing, many who have been tithing reluctantly in the past would jump for joy for this video.
There are deeper realities beyond our scope of understanding which we must consider.
For example try and Google endtime testimonies of believers seen in hell including Pastors, Bishops, Elders etc for lack of tithing or properly doing so.
E.g : 7 Colombian Youths Taken to Hell by Jesus. He told all 7 of those Youths He personally took to hell and back that those Christians seen in that section of hell are robbers, and that no robber will make it into His Father's Kingdom.
I have watched other such warnings apart from that. Just remember, IF WE MISS HEAVEN FOR ANY REASON, IT'S FOREVER!!!

In this first place, let me say that, when you preach, don't attack another man's assignment - it is a costly task!
"...Riches is not to the wise...the race is not to the swift...the battle is not to the strong..." Why?
TIME and chance happens to these category of people where you and me belong.
"Seed time" : time is very important in the prosperity of the child of God.
Seed is meant to be sown in time. Which means there is a time to show seeds!
Thus when Jesus died while we were yet sinners, it was not time to show seeds. So God did not require you and me to sow any seed.
"God so loved the world that he SOWED his only begotten son as seed.
By this, it was not necessary for you to sow any seed for your salvation because God had sown the seed at that time. (Don't forget that from the conception, birth, death and resurrection of Jesus, it took 33 years, 9months: that is time)
"You don't need tithing to prosper"
The Bible never said you need tithing to prosper. It said when you give your tithe, these things happen:
1. A window of blessing will be opened...
2. Devourers will be rebuked for your sake.
"Pour you a blessing!" What does it mean?
Now, the Bible says that the blessings of God makes rich and adds no sorrow.
This means if God pours you out a blessing, it will make you rich.
It did not say God will make you rich. It is the blessing that makes you rich
Don't forget that when you do not manage the blessing well, you will become poor!
Now match this verse of scripture with "it is God who gives you power to make wealth!"
Note "...to make wealth"
That power is one of the blessings that would be poured out from the window....
That there are Christians who do not manage the blessing well and they remain the same after tithing does it mean tithing is wrong?
"The children of Israel spent forty years in the wilderness. They prospered yet they did not pay tithe."
Please do not forget that after 430years in slavery God cannot be mean to introduce tithing to them in a journey that should have lasted forty days but lasted forty years.
A people who can't handle forty days journey, how can they understand tithing.
Hence the Bible says I wish above all things that you prosper even as your SOUL prospers.
Forty years in the wilderness was a journey not a destination.
When God leads you to a destination, he prepares your mind before your service.
God said to Pharaoh through Moses , "let my people go that they may serve me.."
They were still on the journey: they had not arrived.
Imagine a man coming out of prison after spending twenty years there and the first thing you introduce to him is paying tithe.

Am sorry to say Pastor Abel is wrong. No body is forced to give tithe or offering. You are allowed to make your choice. God does not need anyone's money but those monies are used to make you comfortable in church. They are used to get members good buildings, AC,nice chairs, music sets, pay workers and missionaries e.t.c. Jesus never said we should not pay tithe, infact He said its the right thing to do. Read Matthew 23:23.

A lot of scamming has been going on in the church but I think that it depends on the individual perception. If you pay thithe and you know you are doing it for love and respect for God and His church it is okay. But it is never okay when you extort money from the poor always or under compulsion while the giver is being used , the leaders keep amassing wealth for them selves and families .
Salvation is an individual affair! If one believes that he's from Abraham, he'll give tithes as Abraham did..because we worship God by faith

In some churches like Anglican if you are not a faithful tithe player and unfortunately pass on, they won't bury you as a church. Not fair at all.

Tithe is a must even some pastors are in hell for refusing their members not to pay tithe in divine revelation so i pray God should touch ABLE before is too late for him,yes he can preach against missused of tithing by some bad pastors, if you love .e keep my commandment says the lord

This pastor Abel fame in recent times among supposed Christians shook me and gave me a sold foundation for why what we have mostly(not every believer is fooled by all these tithing thing) in Nigeria is religion and not a bride of Christ. It opened my eyes to the fact that most supposed Christians in Nigeria are "nominal" Christians. People born into Christian homes and are devoted to their pastor religiously instead of having a personal relationship with the Lord.
Let me say it again: most of what Abel Damina is correcting are FOUNDATIONAL teachings. Things that any serious biblical student should know. That there are alot of you out there screaming "he is shaking tables" baffles me.
There are deep spiritual truths in the Lord, more than the basics Damina is exposing that exposes Damina to be teaching his own false doctrines. I think he discovered that to re-invent himself on the social media spaces, he had to expose basic teachings that he knows most religious people do not know while introducing his own false teaching which is not basics and wont be caught by those religious people who are just surprised about the basics.
In the end, both Damina and those he is exposing are in the same boat unfortunately. 😢😢
