UPSC Civil Services Exam is one of the most prestigious exams in the country. It has three parts, the Prelims exam, the Main exam and the Personality test, which you need to clear in order to become an IAS or IPS officer. All other Group A services of the Government of India recruit people through the UPSC Civil services exam itself and because of this, there is a lot of competition in this exam. Hence, your UPSC preparation should be strategic, informed and well planned.

To be eligible for the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) reservation in India, a person must meet the following criteria:
Income
The annual family income must be less than ₹8 lakhs. This includes income from all sources, such as salary, agriculture, and business.
Land
The family must not own more than five acres of agricultural land.
Residential property
The residential flat area must be less than 1,000 sq ft. The residential plot area must be less than 100 sq yards in a notified municipality sector and less than 200 sq yards in a non-notified municipality sector.
Category
The person must belong to the general category and not be under any reserved category like SC, ST, or OBC.
Family definition
The family includes the person seeking the benefit of reservation, their parents, siblings under 18, spouse, and children under 18.
A flat is a ready-made apartment in a building, while a plot is a piece of land that can be used for construction
