- In this video we go over the report card and I talk about how my fountain pens and inks are working out so far for May 2024. I added a 10th pen! Additional topics at the end of the video (from my library) include: Pen temptation = a new Benu Euphoria (that is not to be named) causing me some serious pen gimmie's (I entered the drawing and meanwhile have been actually considering how could I buy it - and is it reasonable) eeeks stay tuned, Coco's diet, state of my pen pal reply pile, our drought and water restrictions and the book Glucose Revolution which I am learning a lot from.

8. TWSBI Diamond 580-ALR Purple 1.1 (pen from pen friend AW) with Pelikan 4001 Violet
9. Moonman Mini Purple Swirl B Opus nib with Monteverde Purple Reign
10. Jinhao X159 Black with M Jinhao nib unit from pen friend CS and Waterman Serenity Blue ink.

I've struggled with blood sugar for most of my life on and off. Mostly hypoglycemia. One thing I've found very early in life is eat a breakfast with protein and don't wait too long in the morning before eating. I found that stabilizing the blood sugar in the morning sets me up for a balanced blood sugar day.
Hi @ubacat1617 - this is something I'm working at ... getting my breakfast or "break fast"/1st meal to really set the tone for the day. I love eggs and bacon ... ! When I have a salad then a traditional lunch I seem to have better even energy thru the day but maybe eventually I can get breakfast food to do that too ... I'm likely missing a component. :)

Hi Kathy - on Friday 5-17 we had a nice rainy morning I was so happy! First rain in a long time! It was not cold but it was cooler! How I miss Vermont in May and all throught the May - October time frame especially. :)
Pink champagne!! It caught my eye too. So glad its not special edition, just limited to 2024 it sounds like, which means I have time to contemplatr

So happy to see this. I've just started my first ink journal. Got the Jaques Herbin "Orange Soleil" ink and it is so summery! You are an inspiration! As a historian and genealogist, I'm tring to encourage people to wirte letters. Such a dying art, but so important to history. I think using the variety of inks and the joy of using a fountain pen will encourage more people to write. Thanks Chris!!

Hi @loracharis6814 - thank you - so far I'm doing okay - still holding out hope for the giveaway lol. :) I know I need another pen like I need another hole in my head. I'm still wondering why this particular one turned my head when the others were like ... "oh that's pretty" but I could easily move along.
I have been reading one of her other books too. I think I need to meal prep the veggie starter so I always have it ready to go rather than having to think about it for every meal.
Hi Ms Turtle! She has a recipe book too right!? I find I have to think a lot too if I did a bit more prep it would be easier! I know I'll get sick of the exact same garden salad soon. LOL
RE the new Benu Euphoria, you must be talking about the octopus. Isn’t it stunning?!?!? I’ll just have to enjoy this one vicariously through the TH-cam videos of others, as the price point is higher than I’m willing to pay for a pen with a steel nib.
Hi @rgcainmd -- no it was the Goldspot exclusive Pink Champagne .... some other very lucky person won it but it is looking like my ad revenue $ is going to be enough to purchase one so I'm pretty excited!!!!!!
Aren't those BENU pens wonderful! I have four of them and haven't been disappointed with any of them. They write no matter how long they haven't been used. (I usually have seven or eight pens inked.) I also can depend on the Jenhau and Hongdian. I just bought Wearingeul Pinocchio green with gold shimmer and it is just awsome ink. I put it in my Netunno 1911 with a medium nib. I also bought Van Dieman's Tasmania Autumn Morning, another shimmer, and put it in my Narwal Schuylkill Asfur bronze with a medium nib. Both are doing so well showing off the ink and nice flow. As you probably guessed I love the shimmer inks. Thanks for the great video. I enjoy your channel so much.
Hi Cynthia - I'm quite obsessed with Benu pens I have to admit! Van Dieman's has so many pretty colors it's amazing! :) I have not even begun to really explore Wearingeul other than their awesome swatching cards!!!!! :)

I dont think its you when it comes to the pelikan 4001 ink I just reviewed pelikan 4001 royal blue and something about it jus refused to come out of the pen so I dipped my tooth pick in some white lightning and spread it all over the top of the nib and leaned it forward and leaned ie back and then clean wiped the nib off and it hasnt give ne any grief sense
Hi Marilyn! I just put the Broad nib unit on that TWSBI ... of course it's writing great right now after a nice dip in the bottle but I will keep testing it everyday to find out if the nib change helped. I did have a few issues with that stub in the past but I can't recall what ink I was using. I know Pelikan inks can be a tad dry even the 4001s. :)
@@ChrisSaenz13 I never have that problem with edelstein inks why cant they be like those ;/
