This is insane! I'm not a graphic designer but always wanted to know how to make this 80's poster illustration style in photoshop. Would love to see more videos on this. Nice job.
This is the first vid I've seen from you. It just popped up on my home page. And I'm so surprised that you only have 3K subs cause the work you make deserves a LOT more attention. Love it!!
I think the big takeaway for me is that I need to spend more time with highlights and shadows and dodging and burning. Most of what I put out has a realism as opposed to an illustrated look that I would prefer to have. Thank you for freely sharing your workflow. This is going to be helpful for me.
I was looking for inspiration on a graphic project I need to do and found this. I'm completely blown away, the detail and sheer amount of work upon this is mind staggering, you deserve way more subs, this is an absolute masterpiece of art. I'm now a big fan of yours !
Just can't get enough of your artistic process (and flawless explanation each step). Great work! What make you pop out from other digital artists around internet is extraordinary feeling of light and shadows based on you photography experience I guess. Its just another level of detailing creative work. Also great visual taste- but its more subiective feeling:) Keep going!
Amazing work! (as usual). Made me think a character poster composite of Stephen King related movies could work well with your skills. I think a backdrop of the showdown between Lo-Pan and Egg-Shen (where the big silhouettes represent their power) would have been cool, but obviously the central image is more instantly recognizable. Big Trouble has always been my fave J.C film but that could just be that it was the first one I saw of his. Endlessly rewatchable, and probably my fave Kurt character, with lines I still quote regularly. Ghosts is indeed shite though, and I never bothered with The Ward. 80's Carpenter is obviously the best, but I've always had a soft spot for In the Mouth of Madness.
Thanks! I have a bunch of poster ideas I wanna work on. I did go back and watch Ghosts of Mars with a friend and it was still pretty bad, but had some funny parts.
This is awesome! Thanks for the great content man! This is really inspiring! Bit of a newbie question but I have been experimenting pulling pics from google and making collages and posters etc! However some pics are really low quality is there a way to improve the quality of these in photo shop or is there a way to tell if they will work in photo shop before downloading them? If you have any advice I would be very grateful! Thanks again for the great video :)
Great work mate. Love seeing what posters you come up with. And are looking forward your smudge technique video next. Quick question, when applying haze around the characters.. what brush and flow do you use? Cheers👍
Thanks! It's just one of the several smoke brushes I have. You can get all kinds of them on like DeviantArt or Brusheezy. I usually use a pretty low flow 5% or so.
hey mike - i’ve been trying to reach you via Email about possibly having you help with some photoshop work. I’d love to pay you for your time if you’re interested. Thanks!

Hi there, great video. Just wondering where you got those awesome light flare brushes from 16:00?
Wish you went into detail about brushes you were using to blend, but great video and good work. Like what brush was that to soften the hard crops?
