DAYUMN...you made that look so easy. I love these models. I can not wait to get into the game. Whatever faction the Wookies can be played on, is the faction I want to play. I used to have a huge Wookie army back in the D20 Star Wars Miniatures game. I lovingly referred to them as...The Hair Bear Bunch...us old heads get the reference. Just from watching this I totally see the potential of all of the different color schemes you can have with the Wookies. Again I can not wait to get mine.
Thanks! Amazing job! I painted my Chewie following episode 13. I’m super happy with how he came out. I was hesitant try wet blending for the first time. Thanks for the video!
I am always amazed how you take the wide array of tools and use it with great confidence for a spectacular effect on the same side showing that it is not so difficult but in fact in easy to recreate small steps. Did you consider to use oil washes or oil paints in general?
Hey man! Big fan of your work!😃 I want to start with miniature painting but i‘m afraid of failing 😂 Your channel is a huge inspiration for me, thank you! Lovely greetings from Germany!😁
Thanks a lot! That is a nice addition to the non-contrast pdf version on your patreon. You can use these tutorials on all kinds of fur what makes them incredible versatile. For example I am using the pdf tutorial for the Monster Slaughter board game werewolves.
Beautiful work on gorgeous models. I’m looking forward to painting mine now! I have been playing around with contrast medium to make standard paints more ‘contrasty’ seems to work relatively well. I wondered if anyone else has found success this way?
Thanks a lot mate! I think it's certainly possible to thin regular paints in such a way as to get them to behave more like Shades/Contrast Colours.. :)
Those contrast paints are super effective on the fur - long gone are the days of drybrushing the hell out of everything just to get the texture :) I have to ask, how do you find the AK ultra matt varnish interacts with true metallics IRL. They still look good at the end shot but I am not sure how much of that is down to the mettalic paint and how much is down to you being so good at NMM that it doesn't matter if it has matt over the top?
Sortastro, fantasic as always. You make it look so God-Damn easy painting 😉. Question though, what is it that you use to mount your figures whilst you paint.
Ha, thanks Lee! I use the little screw-cap top part of the Hobby Holders (I think there should be a link in the video description). You could use whatever you like though really.. 😀
hey Sorastro, you used ak matte varnish, how does that compare to Testers matt varnish, as it no longer exist and I cant get any. I want something that is as good at Testers at not spoiling the subtle blends etc. cheers
Hi Maxime! I can't actually think of a single reason why I would tbh. The AK Interactive varnish gives me a matte finish which I love, it's cheaper, and it's non aerosol so can either be brushed on or applied with the airbrush. 🙂
Thanks, videos have me looking at legion minis just for minis to paint. But for the wookies is superglue need to paint them or plastic cement like tamaya extra thin?
Hi David! These are made with the harder plastic, and it's recommended that you use plastic glue for them (but I don't see why superglue wouldn't work too..) :)
Agreed with Sorastro. I play Legion, and I've never had a problem with using superglue. I'm sure plastic cement works well, but superglue is easier to find for me.
watching this three times until 4-5:00 minutes, and still do not know what exactyl is used for a base spray after assembling stage. I hear that it is black, but seems to be not black at all?
The legion model line is blowing my mind and I wouldn't be paying attention to it without your guides. Thank you!
Thanks a lot! I really appreciate that :)
So clever. I'm really loving the detail of the legion range
Thank you! The minis certainly are nice 😀
Not only stellar work (as usual) but also, a great new way to apply contrast. Thanks again!
Thanks buddy :)
5 mins after watching I ordered a box of these. Never played Legion but always had a softspot for Wookies. Thanks for showing these :)
Thanks Heinrich! I hope you enjoy painting yours! :)
Your metallic color choices are giving me a lot of ideas, sir, and thank you for the inspiration!
Oh great, thanks! I'm glad you found it useful :)
There can never be too many Wookiee painting tutorials.

HUUUUGE THANKS for this guide!

Love the video! Which holders do you use if I may ask?
Thanks a lot! I use the Hobby Holder (but just the screw cap bit, and not the giant handle thing): gameenvy.net/new-hobby-holder-miniature-holder/ :)
Hope there will be Ewoks minis in the furure!
Ewoks were confirmed in a recent Livestream from Atomic Mass Games!
I would like too see him do some 41st elite corps ranger platoon on some phase 2 clones

What about the Droid attack on the Wookiees?
