Did this last week. Fell off the side coming down from the third peak. Held the rope for dear life and ended up dangling off the side. Thank god I was wearing gripped gloves and the rope was sturdy. Scrambled back onto the trail from the side and took the rest especially careful.
Oh my…😨I would say you were lucky with this outcome. I read many reviews about Olomana Trail; one lady was writing: “there’s vegetation on each side of the cliffs so even if you fall, you won’t die”. If that worked for her giving her confidence- it’s fine; but we know it’s not the case. 🙂 Learn from that mistake, I was also in a similar situation on Pali Notches. What else can I say? You made it back in one piece, that’s a success! 🏆
Wow!

Multumesc frumos Iulia! It’s the scariest video about hiking I ever saw it 😮😮😮😵💫 , but also, the most beautiful to see, Mountain , nature, sea 🌊 all coming together to bring the most amazing views. Thank you for sharing. Aloha 🌺🌺🌺
That was our weekly hike for a long time. Saw lots of people going betond 1st peak who had no business doing so. Going down the backside of 3rd is a trip. Give crouching lion a go next time you're here
Thank you for watching! Yes, the trail is not for everybody and ambitions cannot compensate lack of preparation and experience. I hiked Crouching lion and its upper part Pu’u manamana - I need to make a video about that too, I already got the captures.:)
Did this hike yesterday, great hike, not as scary as the videos make it seem. Made it to the 3rd and last peak, definately would have been a bit more scary if youre alone. Luckily i met a fellow hiker right before the first peak. Pace yourself, the return hike from the third peak is rough because youre tired and legs are shaky. Aloha From Florida! 9/17/2024- my card is in the little plastic zip bag on the 3rd
@@darionmackey5090 Congratulations! Hiking Olomana Trail all the way to the 3rd peak will soon turn for you into a beautiful memory. I experienced the same fatigue while returning - right under the second peak, on that sheer drop; I needed rest. You are living in a wonderful state - Florida is my second favorite state in the US after Hawaii, I had lived there for more than 3 years. I’m driving a semi truck all over the country now; I’m considering buying a house in SE Florida - but not now cause the prices are too high. Aloha from Nevada!:)
I live in the valley next to Olomana. Very dangerous hike but you can hike the Ohana trail on the other side of the the peak with connects up to a trail to the 3rd peak. You can climb up to The 3rd peak without killing yourself👍🏼
After doing this hike and seeing this video its a miracle only 6 people have died on this hike/climb. When you have precipitation which is very common thats a whole other animal
@@MultiGoodriddance I watched a TH-cam video about some mountain climbing tragedies and then looked at the comments; one of the comments was something like: “team hiking/climbing gives a false feeling of safety; the danger is still there at all times”. I guess this is another reason for only 6 people have died on Olomana Trail - they didn’t have a real perception of the danger while hiking in team and it seems it worked for them.:)
@@LightStreams_I found it, and as a local who made the hike to the second peak several times over the years, your video of your experience brought the memories I have to life. I often took visitors up to the first peak. That is a great accomplishment for folks in shape, but perhaps don’t do challenging hikes as much. I turn 65 soon and unfortunately have too much wear and tear on my body, so no more hikes where you have to be able to use your core and healthy joints to move to save yourself or just keep balance. Your skill with drones and videography matches your hiking abilities. Great piece of work I know I will share in the future. Hey everyone: did you notice how clean and natural the trails are? Except for the ropes that is! Help us keep the island clean! Mahalo! See you on the (easier) trails!
The intro is one of the best I've seen for mountain movies..first four minutes. After this I wished for more engaging music and some shots showing the person talking, a bit more action, some dramatic scenes and a happy ending. Overall amazing considering you don't have many subscribers, you have mastered the art of drone. But unfortunately after five minutes I stopped watching. Keep going 🎉
