Going from an HOB to a canister... You can add those sponges to a tray in the canister also which gets it out of the way and keeps your cycle. The only other thing I would add is to becareful and try not to do it when you are doing a big water change or significant cleaning. Awesome video and advice as always bro. Keep up the good work!
Cleveland I have a question I’m thinking about buying a 125 from a fish store that comes with a sump and a nice stand the only downside is it has a leak in the silicone do you think 250 is a fair price?
That’s dumb, why keep swapping out your sponges? You need to understand the importance of beneficial bacteria and the importance of your nitrogen cycle and how you don’t crash an aquarium…. Or don’t… your choice, your aquarium, your fish. 🤷🏾♂️
I'm not "constantly swapping out my filters", but when I do, I rinse 'em in tap and put 'em back in, and when I DO use a new sponge, it just goes into the tank with no 'seeding' or any of that. The beneficial bacteria is already in the TANK. The only time I'd feel a need to seed, lol, is if it's a brand new tank.@@TheFishCorner
Never had a crashed aquarium but would agree with that. And I've heard all the "rinse your sponge in tank water" stuff, but honestly, in all my years of fish keeping, never have and nothing bad ever happened. But that's me.@@TheFishCorner
You have beautiful tank stands. Great Advice. People forget about bacteria.
I keep bacteria, the fish are a bonus.😊 💚✌🙏👍🇦🇺

Yes I do. But I can do another one.
For anyone that might be interesting in seeing a video how you setup and start the flow of a sump filtration system
Thank you Brother!
People make way too much of this! I just take out my old sponge filter and put a totally new sponge filter in, no problem!

@@pungr don’t rinse your sponges with tap water. Also you can cycle a crashed aquarium by adding additional seeded media to the aquarium. 🧠
