Thanks! With your video for reference and a little ingenuity I just finished up my own version. It felt good to unroll that bale for the herd for the first time! I took your advice and built a few parts a little longer and put bigger hoops. So far so good.
@@tickcreekranch I have been doing it the hard way, cutting the bale unrolling a bit by hand and then blocking off the rest of the bale with temp electric fencing. This is a definite game changer lol
Surprisingly I just came across your short reel on facebook.... This is exactly what my sons and I need on our farm, THANK YOU! I'm just learning to weld so I will definitely be making one of these. Also welcome to the area neighbor, we are in Mtn Grove!
That’s awesome, I hope this helps. Just remember welding is all about surface prep. Grind your steel clean and you’ll weld like a pro. We love it here! Maybe we’ll run into you some day. We appreciate the greetings. 👍. Oh and sorry for the untimely response😬
Nice build with steps to make something great. Not many want to build things on there own to rather judge someone's work cause $ ruins a lot in this world. Keep the videos coming 👍
They are so easy to use! I love mine. But, Greg’s is a better overall design for most folks. Mine is designed so hopefully my 7 year old can use it easier.
I deleted my comments. Watched your Greg video, clearly you're a fan and customer. I do wish people would support local products and manufacturing. Good luck with your herd.
Thanks for the video as I’m looking to build one myself! One question on the 6 ft width. I will be unrolling 4 ft wide bales only - would you advise to keep the width and modify as you have, or shorten my width to accommodate the 4 ft bales?
I’d narrow it if you’re only gonna use 4’. Might be a bummer if you can get a good deal on 5’ bales though. You could also make your spears meet in the middle so all bales will work. I’d use at least 1 1/2” material for the spear if you do
Watching your video and the build video. The “triangles” that have the hinge and the bale spear do not appear to be right angle triangles. Do you know the approximate angle. Or better yet is there some magic measurement that matters that I am not considering.
Just make sure that when in the closed position the center of the spear is slightly in front of the center of the hinge. Otherwise it won’t stay closed. Make sure to watch the end of the video if you didn’t. I go over all those details 👍 thanks for watching Cory
Can't say how much I appreciate this video! For those of us, "just trying to get by without shovin" I salute you!
Hope it helps👍
Fantastic bale unroller. Just what I needed!
Really good follow up and Thank you. The DIY makes it much more possibleto to have this valuableresource tool.
thanks for the information ,I may try to build one for my farm ...
You’re welcome. I hope it helps your operation. I love mine! Merry Christmas
thank you very much! This is a huge help for novice farmers.

Love it! That’s awesome! Have you been unrolling hay on your pastures or is this a new thing all together?

do you have any schematics from yours? I can't find any on the internet lol.

Excellent video ,thank u
You’re welcome 👍
Great video.. very informative, great job on the build!
I hope it helps. Thank you
Looks like a great design. How many linear feet of tubing do you need for the build?
Thank you! I think I'm going to ask one of the local ag mechanics teachers to have their kids build one of these for me as a project.

Any drawings/dimensions on paper you’ve got by any chance? Would make life building one a lot easier! Great video and thanks regardless!
No prints. Just build it from my head sorry.

@@tickcreekranch Awesome! Thanks for the info! I’m about to start sourcing materials.
Do you have schematic for the bale unroller available?
No sorry we don’t. Did you watch the end of the vid? I went over the measurements there👍
Can you send me a material list? And how to build a hay unroller please
Will you post some schematics for this hay Bale unroller?
I don’t actually have any. I just designed it in my head and as-built it. Did you watch the end of the vid where I go over the measurements?

Yup. I caught all that. I can figure it out from here. Thanks
