understandable. they really look similar at first and like you said, they are so rare recently. it's such a shame. to me still one of the most fun dinos to play. if you want action, then dryo is still number one imo. well, at least as long as it isn't laggy
Mombie, I was one of the dibbles at 4:15, the orange, black, and white one was me! After you left we went to nest and ended up nesting 6 dibbles plus two juvies that joined us and we had a massive herd of babies 😂
Sometimes its nice to play the weaker, "prey" playables. One of my fondest sessions was following 2 Stegos as Hypsi for a couple of hours pre-Gateway. They went out of their way to protect me whenever carnis approached, yet I accidentally got impaled by one of them in the end :)
I also loved encountering them, had hatched into a large teno batched that survived pretty well enough for travel, at some point us kids encountered one and curiously followed and playfully chased and jumped it. Though admittedly we started getting nippy till one of us nearly killed the poor sucker with a tail slam and only then did we pull away with ma scolding us xD.
I love to play them all. I love the relaxed gameplay of stego, the hunger driven gameplay of carno, the life as dryo, which can end any second you don't pay attention. I really love the unique gameplay most dinos offers
dryo is js one of the most busted, broken, done dirty playable in this game xd Bro keeps getting nerfed for no reason 💀 AND for some reason?? dryo for most of its life can only run 20 - 30 mph?? meanwhile juvie/adol omnis and dilos are running 50 mph 💀 like what do the devs got against this poor creature 😭??

I had heard before getting the isle dryo could burrow and then finding out trying to play it that it only had that in legacy really just made me feel like dryo was kinda pointless in evrima. It is cute tho
dryo will get it's burrow back. even better than in legacy. can't wait for it to be honest still, even without burrow it's one of the most fun dinos to play. dryo is so underrated imo. personally I love to get chased as much as to fight. a proper chase with a tight escape can be as exciting as a kill. and dryo is the king of chase. as long as it isn't laggy, there is no carni that I fear as dryo. the opposite, I love to run them dizzy
nah, dryo doesn't need to fight back to escape and have fun with. the lag on the other hand is really bad for chases and so, right now it's rough to enjoy me little cutie

I even tried myself to get as deino there, but no chance. the salt water mutation mixed things up tho and now deino can get almost everywhere yeah, the reason why I don't made events recently is my new job. it's just a matter of time. those events are pretty time intense and I already struggle to make three vids at the moment. but, I hope this will get better and as soon as I find some time, I will do another event

Might've been the ping too so your hits probably didn't even register. Do you play in EU or NA servers? It is quite strange but I have better ping in NA than in EU even though I'm from EU lol. When the ping is that high you can bet that too many tourists are on the server. ;) edit: pretty strange that it sometimes peak up to 200 and shortly after going done to normal values. 😕
the updated to unreal engine 5.4 and within the same update the ping issues arrived. so, I guess it's a server side problem which hopefully gets fixed. I mean, the 2 day of this 3 day session was great. the third was a little worse again, but nowhere near as bad as the first day
@@da.mombie I hope not. Perhaps it was just lag? I don't play hordetest much because lag is so bad that you can't judge the hit box, IMO. I hardly play dryo because I'm bad at it but I would not want to try to get better if they nerfed it.

I would trade that kick vs the old dodge anytime
Dryo needed a nerf. It was OP, lol. The dev's game design causes people to clump in one area. AI is in specific spawn points and is not reliable. If I were a cera, I can't trust that I would find food to keep me alive when traveling the map. I must go to designated spawn locations, and I hope there's AI there to keep me alive in case I don't run into another player. I won't run into an herb because they are in the migration zone. I won't run into a carnivore because they are staying around the areas with many players for food. I traveled the map the other day, and it was a struggle. I went NE, and nobody was there, and I think they removed the AI spawns from that location. I then went to East Plains, and it was the same situation with no AI. I went to the swamp, and it was dead, and I saw one deer. It is set up so that it's not reliable to travel the map as a carnivore. As for herbivores, it's the same thing. They created a game mechanic that sounds good on paper, but migration causes herbivores to be static in one area where the food is. As tenos, my girlfriend and I like to travel the map, but we end up eating grass and having to return to the migration zones. I loved the idea of migration zones. I envision massive herds on the move to go to new grazing spots to get food, with carnivores trying to pick them off as they traveled. I think the devs envision the same. In reality, that doesn't happen. They need to scrap the migration zones altogether. Herbivores moved more when they had to go to certain locations on the map to get to a specific diet. I know they said the migration system is incomplete, but I don't see what they can do to create more movement. Not only does it create less movement, I don't like playing herbivores because I'm stuck in one location. And when the zone does change, it might be to an area that nobody ever goes to, so I am bored for an hour until it moves again. So, the migration zone is causing fewer players to play herbivores while keeping all herbivores in one place. As far as carnivores, they need to eliminate AI spawn locations. AI spawn points should be everywhere, and they should be more reliable. I should be able to survive walking through Northern Jungle, which currently has zero AI spawn locations. There should be a check against the number of players in the area, and AI should be spawned accordingly, regardless of where you're on the map. Also, if the migration was gone, there would be more herbivores, and they would be moving more throughout the map to get different diets, so the chances of running into a player for food would be increased. I know it's Early Access, but the game design is causing players to bunch up.

WE are the ones who refuse it. no matter what map we had, it didn't take long and players went to hotspots only. there is NO reason at all to camp all day at the same place. not one. not even food. because there is AI all over the map. as soon as you stay a while in one area, it spawns. as more players as more AI spawns. so, if everyone would be north, then north would be full of AI. I really don't get why everyone is only south now. in the most laggy area of the map. even without players it's laggy there and yet everyone spawns there and stays there. it's so ridiculous. the community wanted migration zones and yet many people refuse to accept it. I played pachy recently. like dryo it has the zones in the north and east. I met a few tenos there and other pachys. but that's all. no carni at all. everyone plays the easy way and goes south. I also go back to south every session, because I need interaction for me videos. but, at least I try in each session to go other places as well. sadly not many are doing that. they all go south and complain that everyone is south. in my opinion that is very much a problem which has to be solved on the player side and there isn't much the devs can do. because everything you said about how you think AI should be, was already in the game. in legacy AI was all over the place. no reason to starve as long as you weren't an adult rex or similar. I could survive with utah for months checking the far off ponds only. yet, 80% of the players were either at the twins or the great falls. same for spiro. AI was all over the map during some updates and yet 70% of the map was nothing but empty. I guess, there is no feature you can implement to fix that as long as we players are that stubborn
@@da.mombie In game dev, there is a term that players when given an option, will always "optimize the fun out of games." While there are always some players who will try and make a game more of a challenge or do things that make it more fun, most players will ruin it as optimization is a human desire that is fun to do... until it is not. I'm sure the devs are trying to come up with a way to address these issues and wait eagerly to see what they come up with, but there is no way to get all the players on the same page for roaming around the map if the game design's best optimization choice is to stay in a hotspot.
@@Poetax like I often said, this game has no community anyway. we have many different groups with many different aims in the game or vision of the game. some want to play survival, some as realistic as possible, some just want to have fun with friends, some want most and foremost PVP and so on. so, you will never be able to move all players anyway. that said, later on we will have smaller maps too. also servers without growth. perfect for PVP mates in combination with smaller maps. so, there will be a time where most of the people will play on a server which offers the gameplay they prefer. yet, it will never be 100%. the migration zones are a good idea, but, they are also new and we have to give them time to optimize them. like you said, I am also pretty sure they will come up with even more ideas. but, as I said, in my opinion this is a problem which requires us players to do our part as well
@@WinterWyvernE honestly, I ain't quite sure if they nerfed it or not. it just felt like. but, it also would make sense if they nerfed the tail imo. the kick is tricky, because you have to offer your head. you are very vulnerable while kicking. the swipe on the other hand only offers a tail bit in return. so, it would make sense if the kick deals more damage than the tail.
I had very bad ping problems for a bit as well, I switched back to evrima for a little and when I switched back it seemed to have resolved itself. Maybe try that?

the map is too big for 100 people.. there should be 1000 of you, you never meet anyone, there are no bots, I'm always dying of hunger with the carnivores.. I run run run all the time and I die. will they ever change anything?
that's a players issue, not a devs problem in my opinion. if you know the map, then you can survive everywhere. there is enough AI around. but most of the players love to hang out at hot spots only. they already did in legacy and are still doing until today. no matter what the devs tried to make us moving. we players resist
@@da.mombie it would be enough to leave some carcasses scattered randomly on the map, the carnivores eat to survive without receiving bonuses.. that's all for the campers instead they should find a system to make you move like to receive certain bonuses you have to move to other areas
@@BexMD I don't see carcasses changing that situation. you can find food all over the map anyway. so, that wouldn't change anything in terms of camping players. many camp because they want PVP interaction for most of the time. well, you already get bonuses at other areas. that's what the migration zones are.

I had an 7700k before I update my PC soon after I started to do me vids. the 7700k was pretty slow at editing, but, it ran the isle pretty well back then. was update 4 tho, so, been quite a while

This is the first time I have ever seen Dryo getting a head fracture. They don't normally survive that.

While there are always some players who will try and make a game more of a challenge or do things that make it more fun, most players will ruin it as optimization is a human desire that is fun to do... until it is not. I'm sure the devs are trying to come up with a way to address these issues and wait eagerly to see what they come up with, but there is no way to get all the players on the same page for roaming around the map if the game design's best optimization choice is to stay in a hotspot.
@@Poetax like I often said, this game has no community anyway. we have many different groups with many different aims in the game or vision of the game. some want to play survival, some as realistic as possible, some just want to have fun with friends, some want most and foremost PVP and so on.
so, you will never be able to move all players anyway. that said, later on we will have smaller maps too. also servers without growth. perfect for PVP mates in combination with smaller maps. so, there will be a time where most of the people will play on a server which offers the gameplay they prefer. yet, it will never be 100%.
the migration zones are a good idea, but, they are also new and we have to give them time to optimize them. like you said, I am also pretty sure they will come up with even more ideas. but, as I said, in my opinion this is a problem which requires us players to do our part as well

I hit the cera 2 times at the head. you can even hear the "hurt" sound twice. a babu cera which should have less weight than an adult herra, I guess

@@WinterWyvernE honestly, I ain't quite sure if they nerfed it or not. it just felt like. but, it also would make sense if they nerfed the tail imo.
the kick is tricky, because you have to offer your head. you are very vulnerable while kicking. the swipe on the other hand only offers a tail bit in return. so, it would make sense if the kick deals more damage than the tail.

I had very bad ping problems for a bit as well, I switched back to evrima for a little and when I switched back it seemed to have resolved itself. Maybe try that?
thx mate ♥ but, the ping was fine the second day I played these session. the third day was a little worse again, but not as bad as the first day. so, I guess it's on the server side

the map is too big for 100 people.. there should be 1000 of you, you never meet anyone, there are no bots, I'm always dying of hunger with the carnivores.. I run run run all the time and I die. will they ever change anything?
that's a players issue, not a devs problem in my opinion. if you know the map, then you can survive everywhere. there is enough AI around. but most of the players love to hang out at hot spots only. they already did in legacy and are still doing until today. no matter what the devs tried to make us moving. we players resist
@@da.mombie it would be enough to leave some carcasses scattered randomly on the map, the carnivores eat to survive without receiving bonuses.. that's all for the campers instead they should find a system to make you move like to receive certain bonuses you have to move to other areas
@@BexMD I don't see carcasses changing that situation. you can find food all over the map anyway. so, that wouldn't change anything in terms of camping players. many camp because they want PVP interaction for most of the time.
well, you already get bonuses at other areas. that's what the migration zones are.

@@Charlieandp interesting, I mean, yeah, it's quite old, yet an i7 and I would have expected it to do better. I had an 7700k before I update my PC soon after I started to do me vids. the 7700k was pretty slow at editing, but, it ran the isle pretty well back then. was update 4 tho, so, been quite a while
@@da.mombie it runs evirma okay near max settings 60 fps i guess but hordetest i run on middle to low settings 30fps. Love your videos btw.
