      20 years, $3 trillion and many American soldier’s and Afghan civilians life lost. Before US invasion Taliban with old Soviet weapons and after the invasion then now Taliban with modern U.S. military equipment and weapons. What a disgrace. First Vietnam, now Afghanistan same style of exit. Next war good luck finding help like interpreter. People are always left behind in every war US went, loose and run away alone like selfish idiots.

    • @goodplenty534
      @goodplenty534 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      They weren't. Only one of the major Mujahadeens joined the Taliban after they came to power in the 90s. Jaladin Haqqani. All the others joined the northern alliance or went abroad in 1996. Most of the people who formed and joined the Taliban in 1994/5 were mostly religious students and imans who grew up in Pakistan during the 80s and didn't fight against the soviet's or just simply weren't fighters. The same former Mujahadeens came back to power in 2001 and once again fled in 2021. The Taliban in fact were a reaction to the Mujahadeens who had evolved into warlords after the socialist government fell in 1992 and left Afghanistan lawless.

      The US had a chance to bring back the king who had been couped in 1973. He was still alive in 2001 and had sons and was someone even the Taliban respected as Afghanistan felt he was the last legitimate leader of Afghanistan. And he presided over a peaceful Afghanistan The US didn't out of their own hubris and instead created a corrupt puppet state that wasn't respected, and its own crimes caused people to turn to the Taliban. If you look up some of the provincial governors and police chiefs from 01-21 and how brutal they were you wouldn't be surprised at all the people turned to the Taliban as they were the only ones who were fighting it.
