I am so sorry sir… it has been 8 years. The year is now 2032. Also the Switch eShops shut down last month. And Pikmin 5 has been leaked for 2035 release. Looks like you haven’t been keeping up with your calendar, but it’s okay we all make little mistakes here and there!
I'm kind of scared they'll replace him with an avatar character but, he still seems to be the main captain character in the pikmin franchise judging by his prominent role in every game (minus pikmin bloom) so I think its likely he'll return in a playable form at least in the next game
I personally think that an open world Pikmin game could actually be about exploring the world of Pikmin, with your main character being an explorer studying the planet, treasures being relics for study, and it's various flora ans fuana! I'd also love to see a game with Captain Olimar is joined by his family (his wife, son, & daughter as potentially playable characters)! You could reference past games and heck maybe build upon Pikmin 4's hub area as a sort of town or spaceport for explorers! Pikmin World idea is a great concept and maybe we could have safe areas where you can upgrade your ship, exploration vehicle(s), and/or even the Onion! I also think it would be cool to introduce more Pikmin types and maybe finally be able to breed Blubmin and maybe other parasitic Pikmin variants! I mean it would be cool to have gigantic Blubmin! Maybe introduce new variants of Glow Pikmin or actual living Pikmin are able to survive at night! Maybe you could incorporate the rescue mechanic of Pikmin 4 to reintroduce old characters or help create new settlements for the explorers! I also think you could have different types of explorers based upon races, inhabitants of Hocotate like Olimar would be primarily focused on relics/treasures, Koppi on fruits, and inhabitants of Giya being focused on rescuing lost explorers! You could also introduce explorers who focus on fighting various creatures! Each explorer could be part of a team! Olimar's family could come to find him with Moss aiding them! Heck maybe they could introduce more dogs like Oatchi and Moss, as well as explain their relationship with Pikmin & inhabitants of Giya! Maybe they could feature more underground areas or an interconnected Underworld! Of course, they could also feature interior areas from homes, old factories, amusement parks, or even something like a doll house, model city, model train, etc. You could also get creative with the environments like a winter area that leads into a cabin with indoor heating, or a desert that is actually a huge sandy beach near the ocean which leads to a washed up old boat or cruise liner! You could also add a settlement building feature using Pikmin to build bridges, walls for fortification or carrying objects from one place to another to create barriers to protect said settlements from the local wildlife! Glow Pikmin could even be used as defenders of settlements at night! Heck maybe introduce mechanical Pikmin variant born from technological research or maybe vehicles that require Pikmin to help operate them (like Yellows providing power, Blue Pikmin being able to carry vehicles across water!
I hope the Pikmin 4 DLC gets announced soon. The Pikmin garden website got new never before seen images like two captains riding Oatchi, a new commercial came out, and the Nintendo Twitter account asked how people like it SO FAR, and Bulbmin and the Parasite Bean Pikmin and the Bean Onion are in the files with stats and are almost fully functional too. They are definitely setting up a DLC.
Love this concept, the whole open world aspect for Pikmin 5 would be the next step. I've talked about this in my Pikmin 5 videos as well it's so fun to talk about 😊
I wish the most that they focus more on the Eco-system of the Creatures; That they actually act like Animals and interact with each other and the environment. Example: A Bulborb Chasing Sheargrubs and eating them in 1 Bite. or Snagrets taking care of their Offspring after being attacked. or Creatures sneezing or shaking when close to being frozen (By Ice Pikmin). And of course: Variety in Behaviors, like 1 Bulborb rather scared to attack while the other is more willing to rush in. But thats more of my Idea for a better Pikmin Game.
TSamuel sighting in the wild???? what?? also yeah I agree it would be cool to see them interact more like how dwarf bulborbs would scream and wake up adult bulborbs in pikmin 1
I always wanted to see behaviors in the creatures too, such as a Snagret eating some Metites (they often purposefully get eaten so they can infect the Snagret eggs). Stuff like that happens in The Eternal Cylinder (predators also attack other creatures as well as you), & in Spore (you can see creatures hunting each other for food or just for kicks).
I would love more random enemy encountere to a certain degree such as enemy positions being random in the over world not just the caves. Also i would like the difficulty to be a bit harder. I would like to see more natural enviorments, but abandoned quarrys over grown with foilage maybe rocks could be found their. Another area idea is a mechanical structure simular to the crane in the pikmin shorts, and the pikmin 3 mission mode and bingo battle caves
I do have some Pikmin type ideas for the next Pikmin game. Lava Pikmin: This type looks like a black charred Pikmin with cracks of lava flowing through it and a volcano on its head and this type is immune to lave and fire but die faster to water than other types and their black charred body acts as an explosion shield where it's immune to an explosion but after that it loses it armor where it looks like a lava blob where it can't catch frostbite and it instantly dies to water. It has a 3x attack power but attacks 3 times slower than other types meaning it deals the same DPS as most other types but it can use the volcano on its head to erupt and damage enemies around it but can kill your own Pikmin. So this type is a high risk high reward type. Mud Pikmin: This type looks like a brown blob with a Pikmin face and a flower on it's head, it can walk across mud and can spit mud as an attack that can put out fires and bring fliers down to earth. They can also store bombs or icy blasts inside them to launch out later for more damage. Lastly on bottomless swamps if you throw some Mud Pikmin into it, up to 5 Mud Pikmin can merge into a bigger Mud Pikmin which is as strong as 10 Pikmin when carrying and in combat but after a while it will disband launching the mud Pikmin in all directions. Also when they come in contact with fire they turn into dirt where you can turn them back by whistling or spraying water on them. Slime Pikmin: This type looks like a green Pikmin with light green spots around it's body and has dark green eyes. It's body is really sticky and is hard to shake off. Like Mud Pikmin they can store bombs inside them as a ranged attack and can merge with 4 other Slime Pikmin, but their bomb throw has more range with and damage but a smaller explosion. Their bodies are extremely stretchy meaning they can grab onto rocks to make a barrier or a slingshot to launch the boulders in Pikmin 3 or launch enemies attacks back at them. Light Pikmin: This type has a black body with yellow eyes. They are immune to the hazard gloom which is what the Smokey Progg emits. The flower on their head also emits light but each stage acts differently, leaves acts as a spot light shining light like a beam, buds act like lamps lighting the area around them and flowers have a lightbulb on their head lighting the area around them like buds but can temporarily light up entire caves. They're also useful in combat as they can blind enemies with bright lights. So basically, its a walking flashbang. Drill Pikmin: This type has an tangerine body with small squinted eyes and claws. They're claws makes them excellent diggers having 5x digging speed along with giving them 1.2x attack power and can make shortcuts by digging tunnels back to base but can only dig on soft materials like dirt and sand. They can also do a drill attack doubling their digging speed and can drill into enemies dealing big damage but are highly inaccurate because of their eyes. They can also dig underground when left behind at sunset being sprouts to pluck next morning. Blade Pikmin: This type has a steel gray body and two blades for hands. They can be used to cut webs arachnorbs make and makes them easier to fight. They're also powerful fights having 5x attack power but aren't very useful when carrying as they can accidently slice spice berries when carrying them or even cut spicy berry plants making it so you can't harvest berries from it for the rest of the day, they also move 3x as slow when carrying stuff and have a 50% of dropping items they're carrying. Nature Pikmin: This type has a brown body with green leaves on its body. They're immune to pollen which causes your Pikmin to react like they would with fire. They can also control plants which can help them carry stuff or in combat, and can also release spores that can stun enemies, put them to sleep or even temporarily hypnotize any non boss. Tree Pikmin: This type has a brown body with a wooden texture with , as a leaf they don't have any defining traits except being as strong as 5 Pikmin, but when they consume nectar, instead of going strait to a flower, they go to to a sapling [Which is a bud for them] which not only makes them twice as big, they deal double damage and have the strength of 10 Pikmin and when they consume 2 full drops of nectar, they become a tree [Which is a flowered Tree Pikmin] where it 5 times the size of a normal Pikmin with triple damage and 25 carrying strength. They're only weakness is fire and poison as they die really easy to it even if you save them they revert back to a leaf. Spring Pikmin: This type has a dark orange body but instead of having two legs, it has one spring and a spring with a flower on it's head. Meaning after it's thrown it can ricochet off surfaces reaching items no other type can reach and bounce twice as high on bouncy mushrooms. Although they're great at reaching items that require a puzzle, they struggle at grabbing items anywhere else because they bounce off anything, which does deal impact damage meaning when fighting a creature in an enclosed area, it would be more fun and efficient with Spring Pikmin. They can also do an AOE attack where it flails around it's spring flower deal damage to anything unlucky enough to be in the blast zone and it can knock back or even kill enemy Pikmin or captains in versus. Gliding Pikmin: This type has has a light brown body with gliding wings on each of it's arms allowing it to glide through the sky. Although wings may be better in flight, gliding Pikmin have a better time flying in windy areas, are faster in the air and are immune to wind attacks as they can use the wind to fly up to a enemy and attack it. They can also glide when carrying items only if it's being carried by only Gliding Pikmin. Ant Pikmin: This type has a beige coloured body, with 4 arms, 2 legs, a thorax, an abdomen, two antenna one holding the flower and a pair of mandibles. This type can climb up walls and count as 2 Pikmin when carrying. They can also sting and shoot acid to stun creatures. They can also communicate with ant like enemies to help attack or carry which could make for a fun boss. Portal Pikmin: This type has a light blue. They can make shortcuts by making portals back to base or reach inaccessible areas. When shaken off, they have a chance to summon a portal below them right before they land and above the creature that shook them off to latch back onto them. Let me know what you think of these types and type your own ideas down below.
I wouldn't have it true open world but rather just all the levels are tethered together with ways of obstructing the player from reaching new biomes by requiring certain pikmin to overcome a new obstacle. Have like a central biome and it just branches out. Maybe some areas are linked together by cave systems similar to pikmin 3 (semi caves). And once you reach a new landing site you can just fast travel to it. Pikmin 4 was very much lacking in obstacles for certain pikmin, making some types near useless. Like whites and pinks. Make whites the digging type again, and bring back bamboo gates and flowers for flying types.
I don’t want to be that guy, but I feel like an open world pikmin would remove a lot of aspects that make a pikmin game, and what fans love it for. There would be almost no dandori.
Yeah the whole idea is for the pikmin to open up new areas to explore with their unique traits and ability’s. In 2 days it’s possible to complete 83% of the first level in pikmin 4 just with what they give you. A completely free roam game could possibly break pikmin in terms of progression.
Ever since the Pikmin Short Movies came out, i was hoping that Pikmin 4 was gonna be open world! I really wanted to be able to take apart a large machine like they do in Occupational Hazards
I think open world makes a ton of sense, and I would be surprised if they didn't eventually go that route. Given the series lives on. Storywise, I'd like it to be about a group of settlers. Years after Pikmin 4 a group of settlers return to the planet, building a new settlement. Build your base into a town, recruit inhabitants, collect materials to expand, excavate areas, protect your town, etc. Add a mystery about the Pikmin 4 crew and Olimar to uncover, and you got yourself a game! I've been thinking about it for a while, conceptualizing it in my head. I played Kirby and the Forgotten Land, and missed the same town building in Pikmin 4. It could work so well. Call it a settlement, trade station (send ships with treasure) or a rogue crew escaping prison and trying to survive on a new planet.
I also believe making a day cycle system like majora’s mask make a lot of sense to merge the Pikmin 1/3 gameplay with 2/4. Solving the identity crisis of what a Pikmin game is. I don’t think it is sustainable for them to still alternate between the styles
Am I the only one who could imagine a pikmin survival game, where you collect ressources to try and survive in an open world with like hunger and thirst and your onion. No treasures, no trading, no economy please, just nature. Or a pikmin horror game where you have to find your way through caves and areas with creatures that are way too strong to even think about fighting and just having to get back up to the ship or something.
It wuold be cool having an enemy faction of evil space criminals that kick started the plot for the 5 game and every member wuold be colored like one pikmin type so they use that pikmin type
New Pikmin idea: parasite Pikmin i know they already exist in rock ice and bulbmin but they can get eaten on purpose to infect all enemies (not bosses though) for a short period of time kind of like cappy from mario oddesey. This could lead to all sorts of new unique puzzles, sneaking past enemies and more! Of course these would be very rare or have some sort of nerf because they would be pretty over powered other wise :)
One thing that maybe works against an open world is the scale it would need to be to actually feature different biomes. I guess you could find workarounds like having a glasshouse housing a tropical biome but in general, even if the world was as huge as that of Breath of the Wild scaled down to Olimar, it wouldn't lend itself to that much variety.
Pikmin needs another planet t9 explor with unknown new enemies with the survival factor. The house never made sense to me. I just need to survive, collect food and ship pieces. I love that aspect of getting lost in the world with its music.
I honestly think it would be cool to see pikmin moving out of the onion as in building houses and forming a society but thats probably not on most people's radar since we all know there are downsides to living in a society
For Pikmin 5, I would like to see 4 new types of Pikmin-Dash Pikmin (Orange; Really fast; Really low attack power), Brown Pikmin (Stick and mud resistant), Green Pikmin (Confusion resistant), and Black Pikmin (Explosion resistant).
I love how people see Pikmin with 1-3 mil on its games and go: oh it’s small. Meanwhile Kirby: ONLY 3 games over 3 mil sold Meanwhile Metroid: ONLY 2 games over 3 mil sold
Great ideas. I don't really know much about Pikmin. I tried out the demo for 4 but I didn't really play it that much and I still don't know much about it.
I'd actually prefer smaller areas like those in the originals, just with more levels. I'd want one cave/dungeon and boss per level, that's unlocked after getting all the treasures in that area. The first 3 levels could have red, yellow, and blue Pikmin, the next 3 ice, rock, and flying, 3 after that purple, white, and glow/new Pikmin. The final 10th area you could choose any. I think whether the series goes open world or not, they need to be far more creative with the environments. You could have a level/part that's inside a bee hive for example. Maybe inside a factory.
I want a new Pikmin spin-off doesnt have to be hey Pikmin 2 could be a new sub series like metroid prime. Imagine a game where we deliver pikpik carrots with Olimar and Louie while using the Pikmin to help you to deliver
I love both series, but I love Pikmin slightly more. Athough, I only played hollow knight earlier this year, so I haven’t been part of the massive wait 😂
Open world would NOT work for Pikmin. Open world would remove alot of the time managment, efficiency and planning of the core gameplay. Not everything needs to be open world to be good, and the smaller areas help the core gameplay more. Basically removing the day timer also just kinda kills the core gameplay by removing the time elements from the overworld and planning to do as much as you can in one day. Yea pikmin 2 didnt have time in caves but thats mostly so the caves could actually be chained in 1 day. I feel theres a decent lack of understanding of what makes pikmin.. pikmin here.
They could still have it be open world while implementing the time management part in a different way though, like maybe you have to get back to your base before dark or you pass out (kinda like in stardew valley) and loose your pikmin or smt like that. In a situation like that you’d definitely still get to plan it out to make sure you leave yourself enough time to set up camp or get back to your last one. Or if it switched to night mode, that would leave opportunity for more night expeditions if they made it that certain tasks can only be done during daytime and at night you mainly just fight creatures
Yes, but how would the day/night cycle work in an open world Pikmin??? I don’t think it makes sense. You would still have to retreat to your ship pretty frequently. Which I don’t think there would be a lot to do in the ship.
I say when the sun goes down you’re presented with the option to stay or return to the ship for the night, and if you stay then enemies just become way more difficult. Actually blend the day/night stuff instead of segmenting it like in Pikmin 4, because that aspect always let me down a little.
Love the idea, but I think it's unnecessary to include any of the trite open world tower mechanic. The map can just be revealed as you actually explore it, like they did with pikmin 4, but without the full silhouette of the area that it showed for unexplored areas.
Dude, i got a jumpscare because i thought he said "it's been 8 years since Pikmin 4 was released"

I hope in pikmin 5 we get bulbmin
As well as the Titan Dweevil too. Watered down yes, but it should have been referenced somewhere in the fourth game.
Ever since the Pikmin Short Movies came out, i was hoping that Pikmin 4 was gonna be open world! I really wanted to be able to take apart a large machine like they do in Occupational Hazards
Not EVERYTHING has to be open world. BUT Pikmin should be
Once again a W vid from Nin10doland! Been a fan for 5 going on 6 years
Agreed, open world makes perfect sense for Pikmin since it’s all about exploring.
1 year already, insane!
We need a Pikmin 4 stage in Smash 6!
Hello Nin10doland I like your content a lot .
How about Human Boss Fight
Moss/Olimar Playable In The Story Mode
Green Pikmin
Light Blue Pikmin
Pink Pikmin?
(oatchi) "am I gonna be there able to do new stuff?"
(pikmin) "PIKMIN 5!?!?!"

I wish pikmin were real
Just a question, but why in your opinion?
@@carlav83 I wish they were real because it would be cool to see something emun to elements that have yet to be emun to
God, I hope Pikmin 5 takes place after the events of Pikmin 3.
I think Pikmin 5 will release on 2027/2028 for the next-gen Nintendo console.
Nin10doland, you are the greatest TH-camr ever. You make videos so frequently it's insane, & every video is great. I'm subscribed.
I mean he clickbait’s a lot with the video titles and stuff ,:
I honestly think it would be cool to see pikmin moving out of the onion as in building houses and forming a society but thats probably not on most people's radar since we all know there are downsides to living in a society
Hi Nin10doland I like your content a lot.
I got a stroke cause for a second I didn't see that it was a different channel and i thought it was actually pikmin 5 nearly died what
The next pikmin will come out in 2120
For Pikmin 5, I would like to see 4 new types of Pikmin-Dash Pikmin (Orange; Really fast; Really low attack power), Brown Pikmin (Stick and mud resistant), Green Pikmin (Confusion resistant), and Black Pikmin (Explosion resistant).
Honestly with how big Pikmin 4 was I don't know how they can top this one.
Pikmin on GCN is my favorite Pikmin game!
I wish there's an option to play AS a pikmin
I'm glad nintendo still makes pikmin games, despite them not being huge sellers. A lot of other companies would just completely drop the series
I love how people see Pikmin with 1-3 mil on its games and go: oh it’s small.
Meanwhile Kirby: ONLY 3 games over 3 mil sold
Meanwhile Metroid: ONLY 2 games over 3 mil sold
i think pikmin 5 will release in 2029-2030
I thought the fortress of festivity in pikmin 3 was very charming. Dlc for pikmin 4 would be a dream come true
I love the intro😊❤😊❤
If the next pikmin game is said to be far from completion, then we will be over 80 once its finished
Just bring the c-control stick back, thats all we asked.
Great ideas. I don't really know much about Pikmin. I tried out the demo for 4 but I didn't really play it that much and I still don't know much about it.
NINTENDO HAS FORGOT ABOUT PIKMIN😭😭😭🙏
How? There just came Pikmin 4 what's a HUGE AWESOME game! 😮
Pikmin 4 isn't that old most games don't get a sequel within 1 to 2 years
Fr we haven’t gotten a game in a year and they’ve not mentioned Pikmin at apl
@@Leopez02it was a joke about nin10doland's Mario video
No
Making Pikmin an open world game. Will be a complex mess of its identity and it's game design.
For a minute I thought it was a new game... could happen sooner rather than later... Splatoon 2 to Splatoon 3 was a quick turnover... but for Switch 2
Dude it was 1 year ago pikmin 4 released
Does anybody want a second player character that you can play as?
Here's an idea go back to barely any trace of humans except for treasure
You TH-camrs are never happy you all wants more and more to be satisfied
In a pic when he actually does have a jet pack
just so you know, when i see a hypothetical trailer, i always scroll past it.
00:36 Published in 2033? too long
2028 should be about right for Pikmin 5 since Pikmin 3 Deluxe was released in 2020.
@@JoiningIrons3306 Yes, I agree with you, thank you!😍
I'd actually prefer smaller areas like those in the originals, just with more levels.
Maybe inside a factory.
am I the only one who wants to have a big crossover between Pikmin and ChibiRobo?
Someone please forward this to Nintendo!
Fun fact:Nintendo land has a lot of secrent pikmin like Disney land has hidden mickeys!
If any game franchise should be open world it would be Pikmin. Like, your on a space ship you can land anywhere...
WHAT ABOUT PIKMIN 6 :O
I think we should get Pikmin 5 in 2028 and Pikmin 6 in 2031.
A season or weather mechanic for more replay ability
Use 7 winged pikmin to fly for 12 seconds
The only idea you have for any game is to make it open world
Does anyone know of a Pikmin 4 sale for Black Friday?
My brain heard Pikmin 3 had no snow area when he sayed pikmin 4 didn't my brain was like: Im not sure about that
I want a new Pikmin spin-off doesnt have to be hey Pikmin 2 could be a new sub series like metroid prime. Imagine a game where we deliver pikpik carrots with Olimar and Louie while using the Pikmin to help you to deliver
i dont think a open world pikmin would work but it wpuld be pretty cool
Bowsers Fury is open world!
If that isn’t what happens then well it’s pikmin everyone’s still going to buy and most likely enjoy it
Pikmin 5 or Silksong?
I love both series, but I love Pikmin slightly more. Athough, I only played hollow knight earlier this year, so I haven’t been part of the massive wait 😂
*PIKMIN*
Pikmin FTW
I like this idea. But what if there was a Pikmin game that played like Empire of the Ants?
I almost had a heart attack from seeing the thumbnail i thought it was legit
Or if it switched to night mode, that would leave opportunity for more night expeditions if they made it that certain tasks can only be done during daytime and at night you mainly just fight creatures
among us? the holy land? mcrib?
Yay
It's not coming out any time soon, we have to wait another 10 years for it.
I hope they make another Pikmen soon !!!!! I've went back and played and beat the games 🎮. Please, Please make another soon !!!!!!!❤
wait another 10 years
We should get a port of hey pikmin then hey pikmin 2
This is a joke
That's not a bad idea!
if pikmin goes open world it’s all over
That would not work at all
I WONDER IF THERE'S GONNA BE NEW GAME CONSOLES CALLED NINTENDO 63 AND NINTENDO SURGE
6:31 isn’t bowser’s fury open world?
Pikmin 5: World Rescue.
Coming to Nintendo Switch Pro February 31st 5978.75
Yes, but how would the day/night cycle work in an open world Pikmin??? I don’t think it makes sense. You would still have to retreat to your ship pretty frequently. Which I don’t think there would be a lot to do in the ship.
I say when the sun goes down you’re presented with the option to stay or return to the ship for the night, and if you stay then enemies just become way more difficult. Actually blend the day/night stuff instead of segmenting it like in Pikmin 4, because that aspect always let me down a little.
Yeah but what exactly is an Open World Animal Crossing Game 6:30
Awesome
Love the idea, but I think it's unnecessary to include any of the trite open world tower mechanic. The map can just be revealed as you actually explore it, like they did with pikmin 4, but without the full silhouette of the area that it showed for unexplored areas.
Everything must be open world
A Pikmin survival game
