SAKI is a genius!!! This is basically some sort of a supergroup with members from Mary's Blood/Destrose, Disqualia/Li-sa Xband and Soramimi! SAKI is also a huge BABYMETAL fan! :)
Band Maid, Lovebites, and Nemophila are my favorite bands now. All incredible. Try their songs Raitei, Oiran, Fighter. Their song Life is a beautiful ballad, showing just how beautiful Mayus voice is. They filmed Life during the live stream, virtual concert in August, under lockdowns. Drummer Marata Tamu just came back after giving birth, and nursing her son. Tamu holding back emotion during the song, then crying when Mayu gestures toward her, is for me, a incredible, beautiful song. Saki guitarist is on right, is also in Marys Blood, and a project with former bassist of Dragonforce. Hazuki guitarist on left is from Disqualia and Lisa X. Mayu singer is from Lipstick. Haraguchi San, bassist is from Holderlins. Drummer Marata Tamu is from Soramimi, and a session drummer in japan. They have numerous covers also. They put a cover out each friday back in the fall, as they were recording songs for an EP, and for an album to put out in time. They have been doing this all on their own, until they decide on a label. Nemophila started as a project in Sept 2019. They are doing incredible given, they formed before a global pandemic, and worked around Tamu's pregnancy.
Nemophila is one of the fastest rising bands now, they started a year ago as super group fun project doing covers. They did from Iron Maiden to Helloween, even Nickleback and it sounded awesome. They are with Lovebites, Band-Maid, Scandal and BabyMetal one of my favourite bands. They did three live stream concerts so far and the last one was really amazing. Mayu - singer, she sounds live the same, exceptional vocalist with those transitions. Saki - Also from Mary's Blood and one of the top 5 guitarists. She also formed the group (someone stated Mayu did, but Saki recruited her). He other project is Amahiru with former Dragonforce bassist Leclerc and some other dudes from Europe. Hazuki - second, really good guitarist. Very underrated before. Haraguchi - Bassist, usually not so much upfront, but she can play really well. Tamu - Insanely good drummer. She did first two songs on their channel 7-8 months pregnant and was kicking that double bass like on steroids. Tamu and Haraguchi always smile, it is infectious.
Looks like Nemophila can actually become big. With Saki's reputation, any group she forms will get attention. But Nemophila may just have the right people putting together. I don't know Haraguchi's background, but with Tamu and Saki good quality is assured.
@@daniel1138 If you search about Nemophila Japanese band or who formed it you'll get few articles about it. Some you might need translation, since they often put Japanese even on their English versions. Basically, Mayu was singing odd gigs as I know of during Summer 2019. How they met I do not know, but I know they all did a gig in September 2019 and released first YT video in February 2020.
@@siscob Thank you for your reply. I try my best to find them. The problem is that there is some contradictional info about them circulating. So I always try to find more reliable sources for confirmation, since it seems there is a lot copy/paste going on.
Every Friday they have a new video on their TH-cam channel. They've done a lot of covers starting with Iron Maiden's "The Trooper". They've done Helloween, Babymetal, X-Japan, Pink, T-Rex, and many others. The nost demented was a metal version of "The Banana Song" from the movie "Despicable Me 2". Check out their originals Oiran and Monsters.
These guys merit a deep dive. This single isn't especially indicative of their output to this point, it feels more like an experiment to see if they could do it. They are the most fun band I've seen in ages. Apart from the lead guitarist, the rest of the members are all from defunct girl metal bands. The singer was doing some small solo shows in the summer of 2019 and just collected some musicians to play for her and they really REALLY got along and decided to make a go of it. They released a bunch of live studio covers last year that are a hoot and they clearly just love playing together. If nothing else, check out their debut single OIRAN, and maybe their BABYMETAL Megitsune cover. In both cases, watch for the bassist busting out laughing whenever the singer starts screaming.
The girls are great musicians & they have so much fun playing together! Their covers are amazing, the original songs too. I suggest "Oiran" & "Fighter", they did a Babymetal cover for "Megitsune" too!
I came across these ladies last month & I've been hooked since. They are a bunch of veterans from different bands, but only Saki (guitar) is from a group with sustained success (Mary's Blood). The rest of them are getting noticed from this project, especially Mayu (vocals). They've only been together for a year, but they have shown that they may be the next big thing in metal. They have more original songs which just dropped on Spotify about a week ago, but numerous cover songs from the likes of Babymetal, X Japan, Kiss, & many others.
Not quite true. Tamu is very well known and highly respected, and it was a major score getting her into this band because she's one of the best drummers around. Hazuki's also pretty well known from Disqualia as well as the Li-sa-X Band I didn't really know Mayu before. She sang for Lipstick as "Sindy", but Lipstick went under my radar, I guess, so she's new to me. Same with Haraguchi-san, I didn't know of her at all, or her band Holderlins. I don't think they were particularly well known, but now that I'm introduced to her, I love her already.
No country is keeping the flame of rock burning brightly quite like Japan. The number of great bands is staggering, the level of virtuoso musicianship is ridiculously high and the number of kick-ass female rock musicians and all female and women-fronted hard rock and metal bands is unrivalled anywhere else in the world.
I mentioned on the Gacharic Spin video yesterday that they and Nemophila did a lockdown performance of GS's 'Lock On'. Search: 'Gacharic Spin x Nemophila'. Also singing with them is Keiko from Show-ya - she's the queen mother of all-girl metal in Japan. You might also what to check out Fake Island. Quite new (I saw them supporting exist†trace a couple of years ago), but they have two very contrasting female singers, which is interesting.
How you pronounce it depends on what country you're from but you got close enough. Nemophila is just a type of blue flower. Been listening to these ladies for a year now and happy to see them reaching a wider audience. One of their guitarists, Saki, is an OG Japanese metal monster who played circles around other guitarists when she was a child. Mayu is the singer and seems to have a throat made of titanium. Sh*t, everybody in this band is the business.
You can surprise your friend anyway, and yourself too, with original Oiran and covers like Megitsune or Given up, where screams are more "natural" and fantastic. But for Mayu screams are more like spice than main dish. Feel free to pick anything from Nemophila - everything is great.
you should check out out their crossover with Gacharic Spin and Keiko Terada form Show-Ya. I think the the video for Lock On is on youtube. It's an old school Gachiric Spin song if you want to check it out too it has the original singer Armmy.
Great call. This band started off as a side project for most of the girls, but the response from us J-metal nerds has convinced them to get serious about it. They are releasing a lot of stuff now, and will likely tour once the plague is under control. All of them came from other bands, most of which did not break through, but sometimes it's just a matter of getting the right combination together. In this case, it's gone nuclear.
Lauryn/Suzie Q/Dani project? *ALL* of the Yeses!! So much Yes it HURTS!!! 🤘 🔥🔥🔥🔥💜 To see another side of Nemophila, try "Life". It's beautiful, and it may well make you cry. 💜😢
nemophila, thé laughing thunder is for me thé best band today!!! The talent is awesome, they Can play every thing and it's always good, they have fun to play together, and they vive us this fun Come on give them a crowd.
This band will be in an up coming concert that will be also streamed live online all female Japanese rock bands.. Show-Ya's "NAON YAON 2021 just announced www.visualive.tokyo/products/detail/96 *Nemophila Mary's Blood, Gacharic Spin, LI-SA-X, Yashiro, Etc* will be there. Next month 4/29. It will be also streaming live too. Everyone get your tickets!
I'm surprised this is the first time you have come across the amazing Nemophila and yes you said it right, they are fast becoming one of the top heavy bands out of japan only 18months old with 3 live stream concerts behind them and packed with ridicules talent .With 7 original tracks and some very cool covers over on there YT instead of doing this song again do Oiran ,Mayu the Singer does a very similar performance and its in there practise room live where its more organic and very cool with some amazing guitar work by the girls th-cam.com/video/eyb2NtPwcxc/w-d-xo.html direct link to Oiran .There very hot property and puling big viewing numbers for a new band .
You don't have to react to this song again try Oiran, Sorai,Monster or any of their covers that are an experience in themselves. Drummer has just had a baby so she's not in all the videos with her old drum teacher filling in most of the time all the girls are from other bands including Mary's blood and that's another great band.

Japanesse Heavy Metal is so good 🔥🤘

I forgive her for that.
Saki is so hot.
Honestly think the Japanese metal scene is the best out there.
Easily, so many talented bands
Yes,if i make a list of my top 20 bands rn 11 are from japan....
I would have to agree.

First Americans I've seen react to Nemophila who DIDN'T call them "Nemophilia". GOOD JOB! I love it! Much more respect now.
I have maybe seen two others get it right.
I assumed their band name was indeed Nemophilia as a tie-in to Saki's other group Mary's Blood. But yeah instead it's some flower

Just curious: where did you get the info Saki recruited Mayu? I am always interested to learn more about the band.

They did a cover of Megitsune a couple of months ago, pretty good stuff.
Deep Impact.😆👍
NEMOPHILA Good job.👍
They do a good version of Babymetals Megitsune.

I love this group I found them about a year and a half or two years ago
Guys they did a Babymetal cover. Saki is a big fan of Babymetal..
They're named after the scientific name for Baby Blue Eyes flower.
So it is a combination of Latin and Greek.
WTF🤘Damn!! That's a really catchy tune right there🎤 Siiiick!!!!🔥

I was thinking more like stainless steel lol
Great reaction! This song is as 🔥🔥 as Mayu’s hair. Nemophila are amazing. I would love a second reaction to Dissension
Saki & Hazuki my favorite all female guitar team.❤🎸❤
Skill level: *ASIAN*
And her english is good.
You can surprise your friend anyway, and yourself too, with original Oiran and covers like Megitsune or Given up, where screams are more "natural" and fantastic. But for Mayu screams are more like spice than main dish. Feel free to pick anything from Nemophila - everything is great.

"really deep gutteral scream and immediatelly go into a rap verse?" well, you really should check out "Hanabie - We Love Sweet" for sure buddy.
F...good
She has the Gwen Stefani voice when she sings
I think dissension means like a argument between people
Awesome reaction.
Bridear, Brave New world
マキシマム ザ ホルモン 『予襲復讐』
Just for fun ... (: screaming singer challenge completed :)
When are yall gonna do the new NEMOPHILA single REVIVE?
You don't have to react to this song again try Oiran, Sorai,Monster or any of their covers that are an experience in themselves. Drummer has just had a baby so she's not in all the videos with her old drum teacher filling in most of the time all the girls are from other bands including Mary's blood and that's another great band.
[ RAITEI ] reaction please!!
Her raspy vocals always remind me of Janis Joplin.
I think they use autotune on scream, that sounds cool and so unique. Never think they can match.
Screaming isn't singing. Nope.
Obviously ^^
Still takes a talent to do it especially properly
You want another fun singer...Check out U from "Mergingmoon". She also has her own band "Devil Within"
