    When a prison break is easier than proving that someone has been falsely accused

    • @fishscalecocaine
      @fishscalecocaine 2 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      Well really the only thing you could do with a false accusation is use words, if you come up with the real evidence yourself then it would prob be thrown out as forged or fake. But with a prison break you can actually make physical decisions and plan everything out.

    The fact that he trusted his wife even when the evidence was stacked against her is a testament to his willpower

    • @62sy

      It’s a testament to his idiocy… not his will. It’s the testament to his willingness to deny reality and be delusional.
      Willpower? Hahaha… he is delusional. And so is his “willpower”.
      We may know the truth, but he doesn’t. He isn’t brave… he is stupid. He did the equivalent of: I lost 1/3 of my money in the casino… so let’s go and bet everything I have to win it back.

    No one comments on this but the most emotional scene in this movie is right before the crazy ending sequence when the dad (played by Brian Denahey sp?) realizes what he is about to do and doesn't say anything but the non-verbal acknowledgement when they hug goodbye and he will never see them again is very emotional to me. It's a subtle goodbye that says I will miss you guys forever but I know saving your wife and kid is your entire reason for living. Watch that scene closely and you will totally see what I mean.

    • @migmit
      @migmit ปีที่แล้ว +3

      And then dad, likely realizing the cops would want to talk to him and the rest of the family, takes them on a ride to see the beautiful scenery, thus making the cops waste precious time and resources looking for them. Even if the cops suspect he did it on purpose, to help his son, they would never prove it.

    In the real life version of this movie, it was the husband who was sent to prison, and the wife who broke him out. He was innocent of the crime he was accused of, but lost his trial. His wife managed to break him out of prison, for which they were both eventually caught and charged. However, they were able to prove him innocent of the original crime, and those charges against him were dropped. Once the two of them served their time for the prison break, they were free to be together, and went on to have children and a relatively normal life.

If that evidence was exposed, the husband could sue them into oblivion for wrongful imprisonment. There'd be a huge amount of people involved getting fired as a result.
