Always appreciated the subtle philosophical and alchemical undertones/meanings imbued into the lyrics by Green. "Cupid and Psyche" = Mystical Union/Sacred Marriage of the Opposites.
When I listen and enjoy the brilliant compositions of SCRITTI POLITTI, I particularly like the TALENT they have of putting the musical frame on pause, at times chosen with a lot of GENIUS and it is not an interruption musical, it's a silence that leaves us in apnea, we hold our breath, as if our heart stopped beating for a short time, the time of a few seconds while we are still in tempo and they have a sacred talent in this area, this is the mark of GRANDS ARTISTS.

I liked this group of the 80s, in particular their hit "THE EUROPEAN FELINE" which is sumptuous.RIP, the Artist.One more star left us to join a carpet studded with stars, up there with Michael ( the 2), Amy Winnehouse, Jo COCKER, Whitney, David BOWIE and many others that we miss ... time flies when you love what is truly good and of high quality, such is the the case of GREAT GROUPS like SCRITTI POLITTI which will remain forever in the memory of all faithful lovers attached to beautiful music and beautiful timeless songs sung by talented musicians. What dates, especially in Music is in no way qualitatively inferior or worse than what we produced in 2020, it is clear that it is generally the opposite, just listen and compare. Here is a parallel: I saw and recorded, yesterday, a documentary on aerobatics and in the aerodrome hangar there are has a magnificent SPAD 17 (a World War first plane), in perfect condition, the last copy, with a Hispano-suiza engine, priceless, we are in admiration of such a device even if it is very old, it's what makes it rare and it was the GOLDEN AGE OF AVIATION, nothing to do with the small planes taking off from aerodromes, today even if they are modern (measuring devices,sensors,there are more électronics,it's more sophisticated ). All the specialists will confirm it .What is "old" (in some areas) is by no means inferior to what we have today in our life.
I would like to throw away this stupid counter of views which is a real insult to the talent of this brilliant group that is SCRITTI POLITTI while the "singers" of today who do not even have an ounce on them prance in the head charts with figures shamefully boosted by social networks and which are far from being a reflection of reality. It is appalling to live in a world where many people have lost all notions of true musical quality to be satisfied with little or what the purists call outright "shit" ...
