Once again, an excellent exploration of a new app, and well-earned praise for an excellent developer. As for the price, I'm truly grateful that many iOS apps are affordable. I'm quite poor, and couldn't afford to buy all the apps I use if they were expensive. (I have hundreds, I think) For my PC, I've been using a DAW since 1998. In all that time, I've purchased exactly one VST.
Thank you for taking time to answer, I think this is a very important subject. iOS devices are super expensive and I think one reason Apple have strongly encouraged filling the App Store with cheap apps is because it makes their devices a more attractive purchase. So it’s a self serving thing. The problem is it has created an ecosystem where it is very difficult for the developer to make money and we keep losing as such. Of course the landscape will change drastically anyway as more musicians get iOS devices and the bigger names bring their software to the platform. I guess only time will tell. I wish I had the answers but I feel like all I have is questions. ✌️✌️
Thank you so much for watching and thank you for the compliment. You will not be disappointed by the other apps from Quantovox. I use True Pan all the time and I have to say that Real Phase is just truly remarkable. World beating. ✌️✌️
Thank you Doug! High praise coming from you. I just feel like everyone’s a bit too serious at the moment, felt like having a laugh. :) Hope you guys are super well. X✌️✌️
Sounds great, thanks for the detailed guide Jamie. Regarding the price (presuming it’s not an introductory offer?), i wonder whether it’s just a case of the developer trying to find the right price level to maximise overall revenue? The phaser app, by contrast, is rather expensive compared to most iOS effect apps so maybe they’re just trying a different strategy with this one to see what works best? Cheers.
Quantovox don’t do offers or sales. Zoltan feels it’s unfair to the people who pay full price. I think there’s some common sense in that. Like, if you put a price on something that’s what it should be worth. If you can sell it cheaper on Black Friday surely, you can afford to do that always? But of course, developers do it because they feel obliged because everyone else does it. Then they make very little profit on an app and lose the potential of those that bought it in the sale. I think most iOS apps are very cheap for what they are so I’d like to see developers sticking to their guns on price - otherwise, is there a future for them in this ecosystem and how are they meant to survive? I don’t have the answers of course, just lots of thoughts and lots of questions. Thank you for taking time to answer, I think this is a very important subject. ✌️✌️
Good! I know my sense of humour isn’t for everyone but, it’s good to laugh. The world just seems far too serious to me at the moment. Thank you for watching. ✌️✌️
