Can you fuse it onto argentium? I would think its possible because argentium 'doesn't tarnish,' but I don't think I have seen anyone try. Reasons you may want to put your piece on copper are to prevent the gold from sticking to the hot plate...I am pretty sure when the steel burnisher is hot, the gold can stick to the burnisher, and since the hot plate is also ferrous, it may stick to the plate. It won't stick to the copper, however, because the copper will oxidize readily. The copper probably also helps distribute the heat more evenly. I'm not 100 percent positive about either, but if I remember correctly, it's something like that. Lovely piece. Thank you for sharing.

Hi, thank you so much for your really helpful comment.
Argentium is perfect for Keum Boo, Ronda Coryell is an expert on this.
Thank you so much for your support of my channel x

The copper would probably help distribute heat more evenly and it would prevent the gold from sticking to the hot plate. If it can stick to a ferrous burnisher, it could stick to a ferrous hot plate. The copper will oxidize quickly though, and the gold won't stick to it due to the oxide.

    Hello,
    You asked for the copper...
It is for better contact that the heat transfers to the silverpiece. The grooves on the plate are also disturbing the heattransfer to the silverpiece....

How hot is your hot plate?
