I have always looked out for a page where I can learn detailed and standard pattern drafting techniques. To be honest, ma, you brought it to my doorstep. Thanks a million times.
I chose not to continue with my studies in garment technology. It was a scam that cost me 17k NZD. I only wanted to learn pattern drafting but had to do one year of sewing first. Everything I learned could have easily been found on beginner tutorials on YT. Thank you Diane for your channel. Your paid courses and guidance are far more affordable than the course I was on.
Dear Diane, thank you so much for sharing the basic bodice and sleeve pattern. For the first time i have a "Designer & Boutique" basic pattern. So perfect.👍 Thank you again. God Bless You🙏
Hi Diane, your tutorials are the best. Thanks for it. I have problem with sleeve block, when I measure the armhole ,the gap between front and back on the head of sleeve is 6.5 cm ,which your is 3.5 cm. I need your direction to solve problem perfectly.
Hello Diane, 1st of, thank you for all your amazing patterns. I've developed patterns using your front and back bodice from 2 years ago and I find that the armhole height drops slightly as I go larger on the pattern sizes. In correspondence, I observe the ease on the sleeve cap increase as I go larger on the sizes as well. Example, my sleeve cap ease on US size 14 is about 2 inches where as in a US size 4, I get less than 1 inch. I've adjusted the variables on the armhole width, biceps width as well as described in your pattern pdf guide also published 2 years ago but I only get a little bit of ease reduction, so about 0.2 inches which is negligible and very far from 1.5 inches. I've reconstructed the basic bodice checking for errors but I don't see any. Is it normal to have such large ease for larger sizes? I've also tried using your sleeve pattern from 4 years ago and don't get much difference on the ease either. Please help 🙏

Hi Diane, your video is great. Could you please also do a video for the sleeves to fit casual outwear( drop shoulder, drop under arm and widened bust ) based on sleeve block?
Thank you so much Ma for the knowledge you have shared on this platform . More blessing to you in Jesus name . I wasn't happy at first when I saw the sheets you do display on the tutorials because I was thinking that I may not be able to get it but I'm super happy when I found that it can be downloaded free of charge from your website. Like others here, I couldn't download any of them. Could you please help me too ma?
Hi Diane, I have managed to make an accurate block, but wonder have you a video on where to add design ease? Many thanks for your very helpful tutorials they are so easy to follow.
Hello Jan There is ease include in these constructions, on the PDF I give the minimum and the maximum. I would like to know what you mean by design ease. Diane
@@DianeDezieltoolfully Hello Diane, thanks for your reply. Oh ok, I was wondering how much bigger to make a jacket for example. I'll have a look at the PDF. Many thanks Jan.

Hello Chelsey hand pattern vs. computer pattern, you still need the technic, the computer is just a tool. I really think that it's much easier to learn hands on, for proportion and for manipulation, like closing a dart to soften the line is pretty hard to do on computer. There is a free pattern program call seamly2d, pretty good. I did work on Lectra system and Pad system, it's all the same, I'm now doing my pattern on Illustrator. Diane
Nice work Diane. Pls wen calculating the sum measurement of the front and back pattern. Did u put the measurement of the yoke into consideration. Pls attach a link of the body pattern making used for constructing this sleeve. Thank you very much

Hi Diane, I love your patterns. I'm have a problem with my sleeve pulling too tight at the front armhole. I can't lift my arms. I've made the bodice block and the sleeve. Please help.
Hello Candice For me to see what you can do, you would have to send me picture of the pattern bodice and sleeve and of you with the top. Often I see the problem right away and I will write it on the picture. Diane
Thanks for this tutorial. I am slightly concerned as I have 7.5 cm ease left at the sleeve head. Will this be a problem? I have made my front and back bodice block using your technique. The only thing different is that I already did the full bust adjustment (again, using your technique) on these before drafting the sleeve.I don't think this should make any difference because that's just a horizontal adjustment that has had a very small effect on the armhole shape. Does this amount of ease at the sleeve head sound incorrect? Where might I have gone wrong?
Hi - I am following your videos for basic block and sleeve. My shoulder notch is coming at the back part of the grainline and not towards the front. Is that fine?
Hello Nuzhath the shoulder notch should be or in the center (grain line) or towards the front a little. (+/- 0.5 cm) You should try to modify your armhole to change the measurements. it's too deep in the front and too long compare to the back. Diane
@@DianeDezieltoolfully Thanks. Actually, In India the dresses we wear are loose fit, I tried the sloper and the fit is excellent - but around the bust line, they prefer a loose fit. Thanks -- will experiment some more. I love your maths and instructions.
Hello Supermoderngranny, For this basic sleeve block construction there is a lot of calculations, but it's necessary. we do this recipe ONLY for woven basic set in sleeve, to match this basic bodice. because yes there is the actual bicep measurement + ease, but also the sleeve head ease. For ALL other pattern, I use and other technic much easier. See these one, all with the same technic. Hello diane! I saw another sleeves video of yours and i think it is slightly similar with this one... so i want to ask, what's the difference between the two? For what purpose each of them?
