    Wow! Just watched this video and it is an answer to what happened to my plum tree. I thought aphids ate it up and now I see the poor tree was double whammied - aphids and the peach borer. I am soooo happy to see he was able to save his tree. Pray that I can save mine, also! I just got two pear and a peach tree to add to my plum, apple and cherry trees. I will keep a close watch on them. There's no room for laziness on a homestead ! Thank you for your videos, they've are invaluable for a rookie hometeader! May the Lord bless you.

    Awesome! I planted 30 fruit trees at the start of May. I noticed some "sap" on a Cherry tree, going out right now clean that out. Thanks!

      @@HealthAndHomestead Thanks, I finished planting 18 berry bushes a week ago; blueberry, blackberry and raspberry. Starting on Asparagus soon, and working on a chicken coop as I go along. Lots to do, but we keep going.

      Try planting garlic around the tree to prevent an infection of borders.

    The japanese trick with the straw is such an observational and thoughtful way of avoiding the problem. Very representative of japanese zen thinking. 👍👍👍

    Here in Denmark we use a similar type hoe where the blade is removable. So when the blade gets worn down from use you can replace it with a new one.

    If you have chickens a temporary paddock around the tree is great for cleaning up the soil in that area.

    Question, what if you use a deck sealer and paint the whole peach tree with it, including its branches? Will it hamper its growth? Will it protect against bugs and all?

    I have seen adhesive put around the trunk to catch the larvae trying to climb. Do you know how well that works?

    • @HealthAndHomestead
      @HealthAndHomestead  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know that it can work for caterpillars. But you do have to reapply when the stickiness goes away. I don’t know about larvae though.

    • @vickisavage8929

      @@HealthAndHomestead If the larvae have a dry surface, it should work. The sticky needs to last longer than the larvae, but not necessarily all season

    My well has ran dry so my garden is going to die and my goats and birds will have to be sold if something doesn't change and ill even have to move into the city to have access to water. I'm a poor and the estimate for drilling a new well is over 10,000$ it would take me over a year to save that working the job i am. even longer if i have to pay a rent.
    Life could always be worse though, Anyone who wants to help save my wife and my homestead you would be our hero and a true Christian.

    Are your fruit trees dwarfs? I need to plant something quick to produce and easy to harvest.
