Sounds like what has happened to me after 30 years. Xanax and Klonopan. I’m at a low dose with extreme fatigue. I’m encouraged to take more by family and doctors but I don’t. Stuck in anxiety.

It will be great if you do a video about hormones (neurosteroids) and their actions as positive allosteric modulators of the gaba system

Dr Josef: Appreciate all you do for benzo community. At same time, please don’t forget so many who are frightened to taper because of overwhelming attention to bad experiences. I am 2 weeks out from 18 years of Xanax . Did slow taper this year. Only symptom was heart racing a bit. So far, I realize. At age 79, just want to point out that people with good experience don’t feel need to share. It’s a shame.

Should also note that racing heart was just a few days

Well most people don't take a whole year to slowly taper like you did

Dr. Josef, thank you for drawing a very easy to understand visual and explaining what happens over long-term exposure to benzos. ❤
I could comment more, although I would feel guilty for being prescribed for so long.

Could you make a short video about and explain what happens in the brain if you react severely paradoxical on a psych med?
Whatever psych med I was given (except for Ritalin and Vyvanse) I had a severe paradoxical reaction with agitation, anxiety, panic, depression and akathisia on it (Antidepressants, Lyrica, Buspar)
Thank you so much for your incredible work on informing about all the risks and dangers and side effects of psych meds

I'm taking Ambien because I do have endometriose and it really hurts and although I'm not feeling any issue right now bc of Ambien I'm scared. but I have no choice. I don't see how I can improve my health, I'm already doing my best. I know the day I'll stop I'll do it carefully but I don't see that day coming soon. I don't smoke, I don't eat crap. it's not that easy being healthy in a world that it is polluted and I'm empoverished. I don't drink alcohol either. I move as much as I can.

Take a nmda antagonist that blocks glutamate like l theanine and a glutamate modulator like NAC.

I started taking benzos to sleep circa 3 years ago, because my anxiety was giving me terrible insomnia and I felt horrible and couldn't take that anymore. I don't know if that is equal to benzo therapy, I am trying to keep very low doses and just use them to sleep. Problem is they are starting to lose efficiency and I don't want to up the dose. Doctors keep on prescribing me much much more drugs which I didn't even took once, because they said I suffer from "extremely high anxiety". I don't want those drugs, I feel like loads of ADs or antypsychotic drugs will not solve anything but make it worse. So, I kept only benzos to sleep, because I would literally die if I didn't sleep a day more. I don't know what to do. I am not a fun of any drugs but I can't live without sleeping. It's like as soon as I am in bed, my mind starts racing like crazy and won't stop.

Remember benzo's are brain poison ! You are wise not to take those other drugs. Do a sleeping course. The sleep you get on benzo's is not a healthy sleep.
No stimuly before going to bed.

Are Antipsychotic medications work similar to Benzodiazepines. Do they have inter dose effects. Can I spread the dosage, instead of one time to day and night dose?
    Thanks for your advice
