I'm in Indiana and remember in '72 when the MW Pioneers had the interleague series against both the Renegades and the Northern Hawks (as did the NY Chiefs). I personally preferred the Roller Derby teams battling one another but it was still interesting seeing some new faces from the Roller Games League. Just much preferred Roller Derby over the other though. Incidentally, in the '71-'72 expansion, the Jolters represented Indiana with the sensational Cliff Butler and dynamic Ann Calvello. Then when the league shrunk back to only 4 teams after the '72-'73 season began, the MW Pioneers were our new home team. Even when you attended games in Indiana after that where the two teams played against each other, there would always be some very vocal Jolter fans in the crowd..
The very 1st roller derby game I saw was between the NY Chiefs vs. Hawks at Madison Square Garden on Channel 9 -WOR=TV ( Me and my sisters were waiting for American Bandstand to start, ,Lol) and I remember Sandy Dunn fighting a girl from the Hawks, I think it was Jennifer Richards and JR's hair was flying all over the place. The roar from the crowd at the Garden was exciting. I was a NY Chiefs ever since.
Thanks for posting, Mark! I wish that whoever filmed this would have also filmed some men's action on track as well! Just curious - do you know if the Jolters and Red Devils ever participated in interleague games?

WOW, was this a particularly, extra, rough game? That #33 was like a runaway train. Who is that?😵💫
I believe that was Jennifer Richards.
