You’re so far ahead of the game! Meaning you buy a house and hv the skills to do most of your own work ; good for you! I live alone and had my parents with me for about 18 months and they are just moving into their place. Then between job ( I hv two pretty big finish and built ins jobs I am all into now ) however, I hv a 2400 sq ft custom I own that I raised my family in (5 kids with a story) and it’s too much for just one guy! So you like I need to strip carpet, do base, stairs treads & risers, closets & cabinets refresh ! Then I sale! Bathrooms need to be remodeled however they work great so new owners can hv that project! Hey I so enjoy these 10-20 min formats they really are nice! Keep it up and I just really hope God blesses you with a great , successful YT Channel!
Thanks man I appreciate all your comments and encouragement. i do feel very blessed that i grew up in a family business that taught me how to work with my hands and gave me the confidence to tackle projects on my own . My videos don’t show my hole house I’m right with you brother have a lot of my house that is untouched and needs work !
Nice work! I was wondering if there’s a way to miter the sides instead of the bottom? It seems like water would be less likely get in if the sides overlap the bottom.
Is it ok to sometimes have exposed nails at the corner? Only one of my windows 🪟 out of 20 has two exposed nails at the corner. Not sure why nails were needed when they would be visible.
Yah it fine to have exposed nails they are aluminum nails so they won’t rust . in my case the nails will have caulking over them so technically they won’t be exposed. I’m sure someone who does window capping every day has a more efficient way of capping and hiding there nails for me this is just the way I was taught .
I put the bottom peice in first, then mitre the side peices.that way the mitre sheds the water
That’s a good point . Wouldn’t your top miters be open then ? Or do you go bottom sides then top?
Bottom side then top
Sorry solid bottom, miter lower sides, than miter top.
A lot of work to do it wrong. Bottom is first and sides overlap for water run off.
