How I Create TEXTURE with Derwent Inktense Pencils - Dry & Wet -
Derwent Inktense Pencils are a popular choice when we want vibrant, intense colour with the versatility of pencils. These Pencils contain ink-like pigments that, when activated with water, create bright, vibrant colors.Once dry, the colors become permanent and can be worked over with other media. They are great for detailed work as well as for creating bold & vivid effects.
Here is a few techniques to create texture with Derwent Inktense Pencils which adds depth & interest to the work:
Be the Pencil mark visible: Apply the the Derwent Inktense Pencils directly to the subject and then blend with a (almost) dry brush. this technique helps to create a textured effect where the pencil marks are visible.
Water Manipulation: Apply Derwent Inktense Pencils directly on to the subject. Adjust the amount of water for diffrent textures - less water gives a more controlled & intense look while more water creates smoother blending.
Use Derwent Inktense Pencils Dry: Once Derwent inktense layer is dry, we can use the Inktense Pencils dry on top.This creates more depth and intense color. we can also create interesting lines /patters that contrast with smooth areas.
