199, am I too late, ha-ha. I love this fellow’s family ski videos. The perfect blend of entertainment, amusement, and information. The list of lifts at the end was extremely helpful. The morning ski over from Alta Badia was lovely, and the view from the top of Punta Rocca was spectacular. That said, I see why it’s better to do this in March. I did it in mid January, not even high season, and the wait for the three trams was excruciating. Also encountered a bottleneck on the way back at the Piz Sorega gondola. Wouldn’t want to do this in February or over the holidays. Still, grateful for the video, and glad I made the trek once. Thank you!

Thanks for a great video. Recognised a lot of that as we were in The Dolomites in February for a couple of weeks and skied over at Marmolada on our last day. If I had 25% of the ability of your 2 boys I’d be a very happy skier! Thanks again
watching your sons just fly down those bumpy runs makes me so jealous, i would still be there 30 minutes later. my legs are definitely not up to it. i love watching your videos. we were hoping to get to Alta Badia this year but didnt got skiing so hopefully next year.
You can do it! And remember ... first step to get legs working is fight lazyness. Start not using elevators and you are already on the good direction 😉

Seggiole: 156. That is the loooooong double chair in Alta Badia / Pralongia sector? Really enjoyed our 6 days in Arabba end of January 2023. Tks for your always interesting videos. Your boys are quite the skiers. Even backwards for the youngest one. Impressive front and back and also in the bumps and wet Spring snow. I live in Canada, close to Mont Tremblant in the Laurentians North of Montreal. Still lots of snow here.

14:25 well snow is always good, but slope its a fact becomes bad in good conditions after 12:00, when very warm even before. But yeah if you are a good skier on not the steepes slopes you dont have any problems. I see that at my self (17 years) and my dad (54 years) or even my sister at 25

I made a round ski trip from Corvara to the peak of Marmolada through Sellaronda in a warm weather about 10 days ago. I got lost a few times getting to Marmolada, which made the trip even harder. It was very tough. Anyway, I am going to Utah, USA, to ski in March next year.

Igor, do your boys have ski training from their school? I was at Santa Caterina and Bormio in March and noticed the local kids receiving skiing lessons during the week. Does that happen in the Sella Ronda also? There was plenty of slalom training taking place during the week at Bormio.
Hi, if you are member of a ski club yes. You have ski training. When I was a kid instead of gym hours we had ... ski hours at school ... DUMB school directors took them away because it was too dangerous 😲😲😲. I'm happy to say that I always took time to get out with them and teach them my ski style 😂😂 they way I learned it from my old ski teacher. First lesson was:"Before skiing, you need to learn how to carry skis on your shoulder!" 😉
Unfortunately, schools throughout Europe are probably removing children's introduction to skiing. My school trip gave me a lifelong love of skiing. The young local kids practising their carving at Santa Caterina on our 1st Sunday looked very good though with no spray thrown up.
I think the Vizza chairlift has 128 chairs. I am only guessing but I remember going up it in January and seeing a guy taking a pee at the side of the piste.

On the one hand, the time it takes a chair to complete one cycle (full loop) is: 2*1662/2.5 = 1329.6 seconds = 22.16 minutes. On the other hand, 1200 people per hour → 600 chairs/hour → 10 chairs/minute. Therefore, the total number of chairs would be: 10 chairs/minute * 22.16 minutes = 221.6 chairs. Based on these data, an educated guess would be that the Vizza chairlift has an estimated number of 222 chairs.
Wow ... there is some math here .... but ... what if I tell you that it takes 12.20 minutes to get to the top (one way) with the chairlift? How does the result change?

According to our calcuations (based on the length of the lift and it's stated max. capacity), it should be 222 chairs (Can also be one less, as we got the decimal, but it was closer to 222 than 221) ;)

In teoria il colore delle piste dovrebbe cambiare più volte nel corso della giornata. Una volta di più è dimostrato che la difficoltà non è data dalla pendenza ma dalla neve. Ma sfido chiunque a dire che la pista che scende dal Ciampinoi per andare a Pian de Gralba, dalle 3 del pomeriggio, sia bella: talvolta marrone, relativamente stretta, piena di gobbe e lastre, condita da decine di sciatori impiantati che fanno da pali da slalom. E non è sopravvalutazione, non ci sono alternative. O meglio , l’alternativa c’è ma pochi la conoscono. Sicuramente scendere di li, anche se si scia bene, non è un piacere. Questo è solo un esempio.
Infatti l'alternativa c'è 😉 Comunque in certe situazioni lo sci é solo un "salvarsi la pelle" e cercare di arrivare a valle sani e salvi. Questi momenti sono pochi per fortuna, non é come andare in bici su strada dove "ogni momento" puó essere .... "il tuo" 😱

E non è sopravvalutazione, non ci sono alternative. O meglio , l’alternativa c’è ma pochi la conoscono. Sicuramente scendere di li, anche se si scia bene, non è un piacere. Questo è solo un esempio.
