Dolomites Val Mezdí off piste spring skiing in plenty of powder snow

- Was this maybe the end of season present? We don't know but skiing the Dolomites Val Mezdí off piste in spring with this type of powder snow conditions was just a blast.
We went up starting from Colfosco - Alta Badia, did the Val Mezdí upwards until reaching the Boé hut and then skied down this amazing off-piste. The Val Mezdí split's almost in two parts the Sella Massif and starts from the top plateau of it and ends in the town of Colfosco in Alta Badia.
This winter has been already so good with us with all that snow, but this time it was simply perfect, super cold temperatures, fresh powder, not to little and not too much (what usually was during the huge snow storms in winter).

I have wanted to ski Val Mezdí for forty years. Sadly I will never be good enough to attempt it and fortunately I am wise enough to know my limitations. Now with your wonderful video I have at least experienced my ambition. Thank you so much.
If you get half way good conditions it's not that bad, in fact in spring it's like skiing on packed snow there due at the many crowds skiing it. Probably next time I'll do it again is during a lockdown ... as there is again almost noone around 😂👍
I learnt to ski in Colfosco and have often looked up into Val Mezdí and wondered what it was like. Seeing it in your great video was just fabulous. a group of us now stay in Colfosco - I think 2024 will be our 27th year at the same Pensione. Thank you for your great videos.@@UstariaPosta

Bellissimo video, complimenti....la Val di Mezdi' la feci diversi anni fa, ma noi arrivammo dal Passo Pordoi.....e poi giu' nella gola...!! Bellissima discesa in neve fresca.....con guida....Ogni anni andavamo almeno una settimana a Colfosco, nell'hotel degli Erlacher (il Lujanta)....che bei ricordi...la Val Badia e tutto il comprensorio intorno al Sella sono un paradiso per gli sciatori.

È da ammirare il Suo sacrificio di sciare con le racchette in mano per poter fare il video e rinunciare a una parte di divertimento. Ho sceso la Val di Mezdì diversi anni fa ma la neve era dura ed anche un pò pericolosa. Lo stesso è stata una bellissima giornata che ricorderò. Fantastico video, mi viene l'acquolina in bocca più che con gli Schlutzkrapfen... Bravo!

Bellissimo L'ho fatto 35 anni fa salendo dalla funivia del Pordoi poi a piedi fino alli'immobocco della Val Mezdì ho avuto la fortuna di farlo con un maestro della scuola della Marmolada un certo Tony Waleruz non me lo ricordavo così bello grazie per lo splendido video

Wow wow wow. This is your best camera work, by far. The lighting, the sky and both of you gliding along. I have never seen a ski video this beautiful. Is it the late season lighting? Thank you both sooooo much for all your efforts. Just wonderful.
Steve, I just think we got the perfect spring day.
- 3 days old powder (in order to let it settle)
- perfect blue sky
- damn cold temperatures
And of course we had some sun as during winter time the Val Mezdí barely get's it.
I think the cold removed all the moisture from the air, creating an incredibly clear view. Beautiful indeed.

Wauw, beautiful. Val de Mezdi is on my bucketlist. We have seen it several times from the Colfosco side. Sometimes from our hotelwindow. And the start from Sas Pordoi. Now i have a complete image. Thanks. We are still on track to come in december 2021. 8 months.

Uno dei pochi aspetti (forse l'unico) di questo periodo nefasto è che ha regalato ai (pochi) fortunati queste giornate e queste esperienze in solitudine e quasi "intimità" con la montagna che in periodi normali sarebbero stati impensabili.
