- Gilbert Arenas asked former Philadelphia 76ers, Montrezl Harrell, why the pick and roll with Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid wasn't unstoppable, and Harrell tells him it's because the defense wasn't worried about Ben Simmons scoring because he's just looking to facilitate.

Ben in my opinion overthinks the “best basketball play”. He says he makes the best play all the time. In his preference to pass first he has lost sight of himself being the “best basketball play”. This was not the case in his first 2-3 years where he attempted 10-15 field goals. Doc when he arrived also said he wanted Ben to be his facilitator like Rondo. Jacque has also hinted similar. He needs to go back to his rookie year to understand how to balance the “best basketball plays”.

It's a degradation of skills at the PG spot. Tell this same thing to rondo or Stockton. These guys were not looking to score and lead in assists. Needs good coaching and motion from all players. Jerry Sloan would have shaped Simmons into a great player.
Little known fact: the producers put a belly dancer over Josiah’s shoulder during the shoot so Montrezl would favor Josiah when speaking. Gil is of course aware of this so he wasn’t offended.
I get what he saying, but Ben also has a higher career average than trez… in Philly he was 16ppg… since then he refuses to shoot over 8x in a game… so it not that he couldn’t it’s more that he’s refusing to give you the work.
