I would say Dominican Republic is between Cuba and Jamaica as far as the resort experience. Cuba probably have the best beaches, Jamaica higher end hotels experience and Dominican Republic can be a good mix of both depending on the resort. Jamaica is indeed a very nice destination!

@@eddiejones.redvees I was also in Cuba. The beaches there are very nice but in Samana I find the beaches much more original.... The palm trees that grow into the sea with the mangroves is just amazing

Effectivement. Comme j'ai mentionné à une autre personne, nous avons été transféré au El Portillo car celui qu'on avais réservé n’était pas prêt et ce à une semaine d’avis. Le resort n’était surement pas prêt à recevoir toutes ces personnes à la dernière minute. La moitié des chambres étaient rénovées, la nôtre ne l’était clairement pas. Mais depuis décembre 2023, fort probable que d’autre blocs ont été rénovés. Nous n'avions pas la pire. Sinon le reste du resort était beau.

Exactement ce que j'ai répondu sur un autre commentaire. Tout dépend du prix payé. Si le prix est juste, oui. Pour notre part, comme nous avons été transféré puisque le resort neuf auquel nous avions réservé à gros prix n'était pas prêt, ce fût un peu plus difficile. Mais effectivement, ce n'est pas comparable a Punta Cana. Beaucoup plus naturel, plus de végétation et moins achalandé. Los Haitises semble effectivement très beau...mais nous n'y sommes pas aller malheureusement. Salto El Limon était intéressant et dans deux semaine on devrait être en mesure de sortir le vidéo de la petite excursion a Cayo Levantado, Playa Rincon, Caño Frío et le pont de Samana!

We didn't had any bugs in our room when we were there. That being said, remember that there is always a possibility for bugs to get in a room in those resorts, especialy on the first floor. Most have a 1/2 inch gap or so under the door.

Bonjour Andréanne, désolé du délai de réponse. Tout dépend du prix payé. Pour notre part nous avions payé un gros montant pour un resort neuf et avons été transférer dans celui-ci car le nôtre n’était pas prêt et ce à une semaine d’avis. Certaines personnes avaient payé plusieurs centaines de dollars de moins que nous pour le même endroit. Ceci étant dit, le resort n’était surement pas prêt à recevoir toutes ces personnes à la dernière minute. La moitié des chambres étaient rénovées, la nôtre ne l’était clairement pas. Mais depuis décembre 2023, fort probable que d’autre blocs ont été rénovés. À vérifier avec l’hôtel. De plus, l’achalandage au mois de Mai devrait être moindre que durant les vacances de Noel, ce qui devrait en théorie aider pour la qualité du service. Et s’il y a un problème avec la chambre et que l’hôtel n’est pas plein, il est toujours possible de demander de changer de chambre. La plage de l’hôtel n’est pas énorme, mais c’est quand même une belle plage qui avait peu de cochonnerie lors de notre passage. Et les poissons à proximité sont un plus si vous aimez ce genre d’activité. C’est le seul hôtel que nous avons fait dans la région de Samana, les autres étant dans Punta Cana, beaucoup plus visité par les touristes. Comme mentionné au début, tout dépend du prix payé.

Je m'excuse mais moi j ai eu un prix incroyable (bas) et la plage est magnifique à perte de vue. Et on y mange très bien. Et la vue panoramique de l' aéroport jusqu'à l' hôtel est sublime

The beach in front of the hotel is "swimmable", but definatly not the best with all the seaweed. The portion of this beach is to the right, either in front of the Royal Blue or even passed the Royal Blue as you can see in the video at around 17:38

You are totally right, I might have miss this. But it's also casino free, making it more like a regular hôtel. Thanks for the precision and the comments!

La fin de semaine il y a beaucoup de monde alors il faut aller à la plage tôt, mais nous avons toujours trouvé des chaises. Pas beaucoup de moustiques.

Glad it was helpful! Theres definatly seeweed on this section of the beach, but there was a clear portion when we were there. Water shoes is an option. You get a beautiful clean beach just a short walk away like I said in the video.

@@nickyrichardson5197 I can't confirm 100%, but I think there was a wedding room next to the doctors office. Best thing would be to contact them in advance to be sure. As for the rest, I didn't saw those on site but there are probably excursions you can book. There was a guy with horses on the public beach (outside the hotel section to the right), but not sure if he was offering rides. I just raced him and his horse running! 😁

@@jayjayp9618 the sea urchins I saw were close to the swim area limit. The bottom of the sea was more sea weed than rocks. If you look at the aerial footage, you will see the difference between the sandy area and the sea weed. Water shoes can help. That being said, situation may have evolve since we were there. We spent most of our water time at the pools because of the lack of shade at the beach but I know they added some parasol since. The best section of the beach is outside the hotel area. Again look at the aerial footage, you will an amazing section of beach just past the hotel next to the Riu.

@@donjames7971 elevators for all room floors and the small size of the resort should accomodate you well I think.

@@onepunch7632 I'll try to take a pic when I come back to the trailer, but you have two openings on the side. You can close the vent port that blow down and open the port that will push the air to the front and back of the trailer.

the resort was amazing. The only issue that I had was the food as it lacked flavor @s2h1adventures

@@keciaanderson3925 the minimum height for the slide were 1m20cm. William just made it at this time and the pool was deep enough that it was secure for the slides. How deep, I'm not sure, but I remember he was able to touch the floor jumping on his toes. We were always there with him and the lifeguard was really watching.

@@y_e_i8213 everything we took was pretty good. It was really hot during daytime so we were drinking lots of the slushy drinks, but regular drinks seemed nicelly balanced.

Thanks! We're on the same page. Being brand new it shouldn't have any issue. But these things are quickly built! It was the pre-opening as well when we were there. It was really the only thing tho...everything else was great.
