First off, having Igor on from time to time is growing on me. It's a nice little change I'm coming to appreciate. Second, either fortunately or unfortunately (depending on your perspective, I suppose), I've never had to tell someone I'm not interested in them. Mostly for two reasons, 1) no-one has explicitly stated they liked me in that sort of way and 2) I cannot for the life of me tell if someone is flirting with me or not so I sort of assume no-one is interesting in me in that sort of way. I have a fun time at the end of nights-out (night-outs?) where people have to point out that someone was flirting with me. One day I'll learn *shaking my fist at the universe* Having been told "I'm not interested", oo, let's see, five and a half times out of seven, I think I can safely say that no matter how you tell someone you're not interested in them, it's going to sting at least a little bit, so I prefer just brute honesty. Make that "no" a really firm "no". It might hurt them, but they'll feel that way no matter how you tell them. In my opinion it's better to leave them no room for interpretation. If you seriously think you're not going to change your mind and one day say "yes", do not give them any glimmer of hope that you might change your mind. Sure, it might crush some people to hear that, but it gives them a foundation on which they can move on. Once again, speaking from personal experience, the easiest "no"s to get passed are the incredibly explicit "nope, not going to happen". Sure, "you're a good person" every now and then is an idea, but still just flat out rejection helps more. Maybe that's just how I feel though. Maybe I'm broken :P

And more importantly, "CJ, I don't want to be touched. I shrug away your physical advances every time, please stop." Then again, cutting me out of his life for not reciprocating his aggressive jokey love is extreme enough for me to recognize that I dodged a bullet.
