Glad to be one of the 67 early subscribers. The channel will DEFINITELY get bigger. I listen to something by TD at least once a day. Favorite is Phaedra. Our taste in music is strangely parallel so far.

Totally agree, it's my favorite TD album. Zeit is a close 2nd. Just found your channel and like the vibe. Cheers

Alpha Centauri featured an EMS VCS3 synth

My favorite EM band! Those Ohr albums are great. I kinda divide them into eras: Ohr, Virgin and the later years. Zeit is my favorite from the Ohr years but Alpha Centauri is a close second(Atem is great, too). Both of those albums are like floating through the cosmos... Kosmiche Musik. It's crazy some of the people that played on those early albums ended up in their own EM bands; Klaus Schulze, Conrad Schnitzler, Steve Schroyder. Great episode for a great album. Awesome!
Rubycon is my favorite for the Virgin Years. It's the one that got me into Tangerine Dream.

Alpha Centauri was inspired by King Crimson's album "In the Wake of Poseidon," which the band listened to at 16 rpm and György Ligeti's "Atmosphères (however TD were 100% inspired by Pink Floyd). Most of the voice like sounds are from Edgar's guitar played bottle neck style - no theremin was used. Ossiach Lake has a different lineup to Alpha Centauri, Steve Schroyder had left and Hans-Peter Baumann had just joined.

It was my first audio CD obviously badly digitized and from a scratched LP, very disappointed. This was in the late 1980s. I'm sure a better transfer was made later. Anybody else have that Audio CD?

    It's pronounced Schulze (Schul-zeh) , not Schulz.
