One of my favorite albums of all time. It was meant to listen to from start to finish. Each track flow so nicely into each other, but sometimes I can just listen to 'Grass' over and over again; absolutely gorgeous song. And, go figure, it is 4 minutes and 20 seconds long!

Brilliant album! ‘All we ever wanted was everything’ is one of my top ten songs of all time. Third uncle is great as well. Brian Eno’s influence on music is immeasurable. He collaborated with some of the greatest creative talents of our times: Roxy music, minimalist composer Harold Budd, another influencing musician in his own right, and many more. Eno’s ’Here come the warm jets’ and ‘Music for airports’ are great examples of range and brilliance.

Have you lads ever heard the Scorn remix of Glory box? Its sick. Scorn is Mick Harris, the drummer from Napalm Death's bass music side project. The man was doing dubstep before dubstep was invented,.

I vividly remember listening to this performance in my bedroom once, and was drifting off while listening. So during Embryo, in the liminal space between sleep and consciousness, when the sounds of the children came over my speakers, my brain told me that it was the children playing at a Day School just up the street. Except it was ten o'clock at night, so that wasn't happening...

Got my German copy of Parachute in 1971, being one of my faves ever since. The album was entirely self-covered in 2021 by four ex-members (plus some additional lyrics by Phil May, who didn't join in the recordings): perhaps a rather raw version, by ex-Pretty Things Wally Waller, Skip Alan, Pete Tolson and John Povey -- Parachute Revisited by xPTs; three 69/70 original demos come as bonus tracks in some editions. Concept albums S.F. Sorrow (released on December 1968), while The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society (November 1968). Hard to say though which was first recorded. In 1964 they had a pre-punk debut single: Rosalyn (covered in David Bowie's Pin Ups). Dick Taylor played with the early Rolling Stones before Pretty Things was formed. By far they're one of the very best acts of 60's British Rock scene, IMHO.

Heya Chris, on another video your brother commented that you composed that analog-sounding, arpeggiated music for the Liminal Spaces intros. Is that so? And if so, would you happen to have a Bandcamp (or suchlike) where one might sample more of your music? I’ve been an electronica fan since the 70s, and am now enjoying the “synthwave” resurgence thanks to shows like Stranger Things. Anyway, just thought I’d ask. :) PS: I’m a sci-fi writer.

I listened to Jonathan's later albums for many years, and even saw him live a few times. His albums were always entertaining and always put on a good show, but he was also always wrong in his attitude towards this album, and I think he could have made much more great music if he had continued in the vein of this album. It's funny that you call this album "childish", as the music he turned to after this actually was childish, with songs about martians and the ice cream man, as noted by the other commenter. As you allude to earlier, this album is actually "teen-ish", and Richman reverted to something even younger when he put this music behind him.
