Will you still be shopping at KROGER if they merged with ALBERTSONS?… they are say if it happens the are going to do price gouging. Any options on that? Just concerned that it will get too expensive to shop at Kroger…
Hello Janice from California 🌴 I do believe if you look at the ads and know your prices $$ you can get things at a lower price food is not our issue at the moment I was 💰 by bills the other night everyone was sleeping I was in the back yard and our PG&E (pacific gas & electric) made me have a full blown ANXIETY ATTACK 😩😩 I started to notice last winter that our bill was HIGHER than usual 😩 but this month the bill was $684.00 THAT Is INSANE Yes we have central air but we have a lot of trees around the house so today it was 105 degrees and the air turned on around 4:30 pm 👍 I told my husband how do people on minimum wage make it 😮 it’s just RIDICULOUS

Wish this is something that we could do but can't Although my son is 12 he is also autistic and can't stay home himself. I work 1st shift while my husband works 2nd shift so someone is always home

We are getting Aldi in our town in Arkansas this fall. I went shopping in an Aldi in Indiana recently and was not impressed. On the other hand, I love Trader Jose’s. Maybe Aldi will grow on me or at least shop the weekly sales ad.
Not unless they could raise sheep and chickens and turkeys and had acted to grow their own foods. No way are they going to save that much otherwise.

I’m like you Janice that I can’t pass up a good sale. It’s good because of inflation. My husband reminds me that our extra freezer is full and we have to eat from it before I can buy anything else that requires it to be frozen. I’m a mastermind at strategically fitting everything.

The shaved steak is always at Aldi's. I get it when it's on sale. I make a beef and broccoli with white rice for my family. It's a big hit here.

Great job wish we had a Kroger but have had rumors they may open but under a different name. God blesses me daily working a Food Give Aways I get plenty also the blessing of seeing people helped is a major blessing. If not for this volunteer work I would be a widow probably sitting at home every day. At the age of 84 I am truly blessed.

Those 14 oz pkg of shaved beef at $4.69 is awesome. Kroger sales them for around $6. We love Philly cheese steak on those great buns from ALDI. No 10 Box near Memphis

We love that shaved steak!! Our store does always carry it but I have overlooked it many times. I normally get it at Lidl when they put their on sale. I bought a bunch and froze in small amounts. We had sandwiches last night for dinner on homemade rolls. So tasty with some horseradish mustard too. I overspent last month and I am sadly on track to overspend again this month with only $70 left for the whole month. But it is sure hard to pass on sales!!
I was a stay at home mom and we budgeted every penny. I cooked from scratch and knit and sewed the kids clothes. I also was the mending generation now everyone pays big bucks for holes in jeans! We had envelopes labeled for each category and with 54 years of marriage and empty nesters we haven’t changed our ways. 🥰

The meat we buy is below $3.99 a lb. or it stays in the store. Hamburger $3.99 on sale and we get for the month, chicken, pork chops, beef bottom round and that's about it. May only get some of it every two months because of sales. You got some good bargains there!
Chicken always below $2. Lb. Other meats never over $3. Lb. I always load up on a particular meat sale. I have five stores to choose from in my city so I have a good chance of finding a sale. Safeway had the audacity to try selling a lb of butter for $9.79. Last week it was $5.49. Digital coupon sale for butter $3.79. Doesn’t make sense. 😢

❤I’m proud of you, Janice! My life would have been easier had I been the disciplined manager you are. My parents didn’t live on a farm but they worked hard and were conservative with their money. My sister is the one of us 3 kids who took how we were taught by words and example to heart. I am the oldest and Donna has to help me now that I’m in the shape I’m in. Don’t get me wrong, I always worked hard and much of the time 2-3 jobs. I also did a lot of volunteering. Then in 2004 I came within a hairs breadth of dying from respiratory failure. In Dec 2005 my Dr took me off work. I was 54. I was not made to be a homemaker. I liked working on the job. I did want children in the worst kind of way though. What triggered my rambling was my thinking as you were doing your grocery savings is that your kids would kiss your feet for teaching them life lessons that will make their adulthood so much better financially if they saw my living conditions. I have to take full responsibility for much of the shape my life is in. It certainly wasn’t the way I was raised. This is very embarrassing but it is the truth. I think I just needed to confess even though Jesus already knows it all and has forgiven me, I can’t go back and get a do-over and get it right. Forgive me for dumping on you. No reason to respond, I totally understand you are overwhelmed. I want to thank you and Shawn for the examples you are to your children. God bless you always and then some…as a matter of fact He truly has been blessing you. I am thrilled for you and all the family. You are a family United. Unity is such a wonderful word just wish this world had a lot more of it. I love you, Janice. I’m thankful for the day I found you. You were doing a grocery haul. It just came up as one I might be interested in and for some reason I opened it. At first I thought your channel might be another Dugger debacle and I didn’t watch it. For some reason I went back and watched it and I knew very quickly you all were nothing like the Duggers. My first clue was the way you treated your kids. You respected your children and were teaching them with love how to grow into well rounded independent adults. I could feel the spirit of love ❤️ radiate from your eyes, smile, and the way you praise their accomplishments and are rarely ever too busy to be there when they need you. Love n prayers, my friend. We did pick up a few things from kroger last weekend. Grabbed more peaches and watermelons. Most of produce looked absolutely terrible though. I got that freebee coupon on my account. Overall we didn't find too many deals at aldi or kroger last weekend.
Hi Janice, way to go on the savings! If I were you I would go ahead and take advantage of those chicken breast prices while the sale is on. I wish we still had a Kroger store here in my part of NC, because I am diabetic and I love those tortilla chips. I make a batch of pico and have that as a snack. They are really good.

I'm from Pennsylvania and make cheese steaks frequently. When you brown your meat don't forget the onions since you made a great purchase with onions. Some like to put green peppers with it also.people from Pennsylvania can tell a tourist s they call them Philly cheesesteaks . we just smile. Its cheesesteaks.

Great haul and loving the salad savings!! I've never had those kinds either. I got the free Larabar today also :-) Safeway here in TX had a deal a while back for Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast for $1.49/lb, and I had a 10% off entire purchase coupon on top of that for $1.34/lb, so I bought 30 lbs of boneless skinless chicken breast, lol :-) I need to get with Sarah's program and pressure can some, for right now, they are portioned out in the freezer. Your videos always give great inspiration and a Philly Cheese steak supper sounds amazing 🙂

Out Kroger store here in Utah (Smith's) had the FreeBee but its for a loaf of bread and you have to spend a minimum of $50. You definitely have the better deal there!

When we get a really good deal on potatoes, we cut them up, blanche for five minutes and put on a tray for the freezer. We take a towel and dab off any water first. Vacuum seal when frozen. Then we use the air fryer. Out a dab of olive oil in a dish, put in some spices, toss then put in the air fryer. It is cheaper than frozen french fries and we like them.

I went to my Aldi in upstate ny and eggs jumped to $3.77 a dozen!! The last time i went in a week or 2 ago they were $1.55-$1.66

I've already seen Kroger's next week ad that starts on Wednesday the 11th. it was sad nothing I really want but they do have that Malto Meal cereal in the bag you buy it's buy one get one free. I don't know if that's a good deal or not or if you get a better price when it's on sale individual bags.

I bought a marked down salad kit. Unfortunately one of the items contained gluten so I couldn't eat the add in items in the kit.

I just ordered a Sam's Club online and ouch.. $126.00 just on household products a lot I could have said No to but with the upcoming election I am making sure I keep plenty of paper products on hand like paper plates, bowls, TP of course, 90 count trash bags which will last me through next year and it's on sale $3.50 off this week, Puppy Pads for my one dog that refuses to go outside and indulged in my coffee they do not carry in the store Folgers Black Silk. I thank God that he provides the funds for me to do this. Next week I will go to the store and buy a lot of frozen vegetables to make Canned Vegetable Soup for my pantry stock up.. they charge you money for food deliveries plus have to pay Instacart Tipping Fee's 15% is the suggested amount so that's why I didn't add it to todays order. Friend, try going to your local newspaper office to pick up old newspapers to use instead of puppy pads! Great in a pinch….
Thankful for Meijer was looking at the ad that starts on Sunday Sept 8 have onions 3 pounds for 1.99 so planning to buy at least 2 bags if not more . I will cut them up and freeze them that way I have onions cut up and we won't lose them. I try to stock up when possible when I see items on sale

I don't have butter from Daisy right now! Her calf is getting A LOT of the cream. (It's actually "a thing" that Momma cows will hold back their cream for their calf.) Once her calf is weaned, we should be able to make butter from her cream again, but right now we're only getting enough to use in coffee.
