    Your Toddler Girl section was clean?! Really?! All of our kid, baby, and maternity sections were a disaster. Our store put them in the back so it got neglected a lot.

      @abbieamavi  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yeah. ours was "banished to the back" too...did I say it was clean? haha it definitely wasn't

      @@abbieamavi do you only get trained as a cashier if applied to be a cashier ? Or everyone has to be trained?

    • @abbieamavi
      @abbieamavi  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mannygarcia8222 it depends on store need I think, and if you request to be cashier trained I know they would probably want to, because they always need cashiers (at least im 99% sure). I was hired for the floor sales only, but I was trained on cashier at about 3 months if I remember!

    • @maedmendoza
      @maedmendoza 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually.. Forever 21 Big Box Store takes the 🎂. Atleast at Old Navy you know what and where to recover. A more mass produced and fast fashion environment is much more chaotic.

    • @abbieamavi
      @abbieamavi  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      true, but they're all very similar in that they have tons of sales every other day etc, just Forever and H&M do have more locations worldwide that is true!

    I have a question how many hours of work did you do a week?

    • @abbieamavi
      @abbieamavi  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      depends on how open you set your availability. you could easily work 40 as a part time staff, but you shouldn't. that's them taking advantage of you, so make sure if you're part time you are never scheduled over 25-30 hours per week.
      for me, hours were all over the place. I worked anywhere from 0-25.
      The most I worked was 4-5 times a week a couple times in Summer, clocking in at 30 hrs I think

    • @anonomus8709
      @anonomus8709 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      At my store, the only people who got hours were the manager's favorites. Everyone else got less than 12 hours/week and often got those hours cut (which were then given to those who were already getting about 30 per week). I overheard the general manager flat-out admit she didn't fire people; she just cut their hours. It's so petty and passive aggressive. That's why I quit, personally.

    Hi Veni, as I see you get paid just $8hr for 4hrs but can you work more days? And do they offer pay increase by rank or by yearly experience?

    • @abbieamavi
      @abbieamavi  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes they offer pay raises yearly (from what I remember) and they always wanted me to work more hours and days. So yes 😂

      +Carlin Moore yesss I know it got so annoying!!

    • @abbieamavi

      oh they "trained" me but it was about 10 mins of instruction then they threw me in. no worries, you'll do really good!
      1. greet customers first
      2. take and count their items
      3. walk them to a room, hang their clothes, walk out and shut door
      something like "hey how's it going, let me just take these from you and count them real quick ..." you can also add in "please give back to me anything that didn't work" this helps them hang their clothes back on the hangers instead of leaving them for you in a pile in the dressing room!
      again, it's Old Navy, so if customers are giving you attitude or acting like they're at a Saks 5th Avenue and should be getting better service, ignore them.

      I work at Old Navy and hate ONCs but I found how to be very good in the fitting room and on truck/shipments so I do get a lot of hours. Also coming in when they call you or staying an extra hour if they ask always helps! I've been working at Old Navy for almost 3 years and probably have only gotten 30 ONCs, it'll get better!

    • @abbieamavi
      @abbieamavi  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      your reply was really helpful thank you for your valuable advice! I agree, you get better at getting cards but in my case I'm way worse now because I hate that whole system haha, but you get hours other ways anyway as you mentioned :) good for you!

      it will go really well, just remember to relax and act like you're "selling" your character = what can you offer them? what do they need from you for their team (hard working, upbeat attitude, good with people,) there's loads of things you cold use to your benefit! : )
