I know some people don’t like how long Blackrock Depths is but I love it. It’s sad that no dungeon groups after Cataclysm came out wants to do the entire instance, everyone just wants to rush past everything at light speed. It’s an enormous dungeon with so much to do. I soloed it myself once just to see the entirety and I loved exploring every little nook and area in the Depths. The bar was especially fun to go to.
I remember soloing a lot of things with my hunter. Super fun! I stayed in the instance until I was out of arrows or became totally red :) Thank you for coming back Jake, Meisio
I finally soloed it during Tbc on my lock, was cool to see parts that pugs or guildies never wanted to do or didn't have time. The grim guzzler tavern somehow became the benchmark for brd with every group I wss in - either we went on for a full clear, or someone rage quit and aggroed the tavern of drunk dwarves. Many bitter gut fond memories lol
Was a great achievement to clear it all. Just because good groups were hard to find. Your best chance was with friends / guild-mates and to communicate in advance the objectives :)
BRD is the best dungeon they ever made. For the simple reason that BRD is not just a simple, linear dungeon that you run through 3 times in 5 minutes. Its a complete, functional society that you and your group of adventurers are breaking into, with plenty of enemies, tons of loot and a winding path through the capital of the dark iron civilisation, from the prison block through the city into the deepest recesses to their seat of power, where their king resides. Its is the complete package, and unlike ordinary dungeons it not just flashes like a firecracker, its a whole fireworks show!
The most wonderful of them all. What an experience to be there the first time, for an entire afternoon with RL friends, exploring every corner and appreciating how much effort those level designers have put into this. This one in particular is so much more enjoyable playing at the correct level instead of being overgeared just to spoil this magnificent ambience.
BRD is so amazing, nothing will ever come close to it. Love the small awesome stuff like looking at the portrait to recognize the keeper then getting the key for some sweet loot, simply brilliant.
Once you had the Shadowforge Key this was a fun instance to play. It's cool to have Molten Core inside it, which makes it feel like you have to go very deep to get to the lava core underground.
It was indeed extremely immersive. I remember at that point I did not know the reason why the dark iron dwarves are hostile. But I played along anyway :)
I remember doing a run back in the day, our tank was decked out in Naxx Gear and we completed every single quest / area of the dungeon. And finally I got my first epic here :) (Circle of Flame)
I have a lot of fun memories regarding BRD instance, never seen a problem that it is too long (usually taking more than 3-4 hours, and often in the position of finishing it with 4 men), but damn I hated the "prison runs", usually because some players were there only about that quest (later they were leaving of course). I used to love the "Bartender runs" and everything about The Grim Guzzler. Like all the taverns with dwarves, it has something magical. Do you like the video? Please give it a thumbs up and share it. It helps me a lot on my work. Also, please consider watching other videos from me. Thank you. P.S.: Thank you _axzze_ and _mycodermos_ for the request. BRD is one of those dungeons that makes me think that Vanilla is going to be way harder for me to get through (on an official or unofficial server) now that I have a job. There's no way I'll get BRD done on a weekday!
Hi Gil, Yes, I am adding the current Patreon list for each new movie. I can't update it every time something changes for around 250 videos unfortunatelly... So yes, the new videos reflect the Patreon situation. Salutations :)
Such a fantastic immersive dungeon. I remember first doing this with a small guild I was in and being so freakin lost. I was like how does anyone know where to go. This was probably back in late 2005 so it was still pretty much figure it out as you go.
Thank you so much Meisio for all these videos! Nostalgia is hitting me back hard! I played WoW since the EU beta back in 2004 and I quit a few weeks after hitting lvl 70 in TBC. The WoW I used to love and spend too much time on it changed for me at that time! I remember killing countless times Lord Incendius in BRD to farm LBS on my NE druid back in 2005-2006. These days I'm listening and watching all your videos while working from home =) Thank you again!
Say what you want about the state of WoW, game wise as expansions come and go. You have to give it up to the creative teams who create the environments and zones, and of course the music. Epic, just epic. And thank you Meisio, for all of your wonderful WoW Music & Ambience compilations. So many feels and nostalgia for the game I've loved for almost 15 years. : )
Earlier today I was searching your videoes for a BRD video, and only hours later you upload one.. spooky. Dark Iron Dwarves are going to be so very cool - can't wait!
Just a coincidence. :) It's most likely BRD / Blackrock Mountain will not be the same anymore in BfA and this video hopefully will remind players of the old days. Azeroth is changing! :) Thank you for coming back, Meisio

I used to scourge the BRD for hours, would buy thousands of arrows and have several sets in case my stuff would be wiped red. Killing the boss saveing the hostage daughter was quite an achievement also. The king of Ironforge could be quite grateful.
Thanks meisio, I loved this instance, so many questlines through here, entrance to MC + attunement, lots of pvp in the vicinity, great bosses and loot all over the place and tough aoe pulls w/pats. BRD really brings me back :) I think I've listened through and watched all your wow vids now, thanks so much for all the hard work you've put into them, you are appreciated!
I still remember my first invite to this dungeon, when I was level 57 in March 2005 , there were no healers, only 1 dps (level 60 mage) and 2 power tanks (2 warriors, other was level 60), I was impressed how a 5 man dungeon was able to be beaten by 3 people without a healer.
After they gear up, warriors are overpowered. I remember doing Stratholme with a healer who was dps-ing because our warriors were not taking any damage. Thank you for your visit :-)
oh you saved my ass in the office today)) your new videos are almost a celebration for me, dude) but i belive that in classic wow dwarves in the beginning of the dungeon were not equiped with glowing maces, they came later in TBC (merciless gladiator weapons and blue two-handed mace from Shattered Halls). Dwarves used to have usual vanilla weapon, though it doesnt matter much really. Gonna go enjoy your new work
Holy cow! This is what I get from working only during the night. Every kick in the butt is a step forward. Thank you for the feedback. I have to be more careful.
For me this is the best 5 man instance of WoW, period. It was a serious quest back in a day if you wanted a full clear with no kick ass group of epic people.
Though I never played vanilla, this, Stratholme and Scholomance hold a special place in my memory. I remember visiting the old dungeons on my 80 mage during WotLK to get to know the stories and farm the baron mount. Needless to say I got my ass handed to me by Thaurissan and his 10 sec spell immunity 😂. Good times :')
I deeply regret it for not joining my Friend playing Classic World of Warcraft back in 2004 2005.. me and our 3rd Friend in the Trio kept playing Warcraft III .. we joined our WoW Friend later before BC came out.. now its 2024..
Funny how blizzard was like, "we have this huge and expansive universe with multiple planets and revamped zones. Lets put 7 raids and dungeons on a single mountain though...."
I just finished the story in the searing gorge and burning step after leaving there with my darkiron paladin. I play this in the background when playing that character.
Im glad i relived this the way it was supposed to be about a week ago. I really didnt know the ambience and music until when I started running this when i hit 54. Gives you a super creepy vibe. Definitely blackrock mountain are some of the best spots next to gnomeregan and mara 😄 jk about gnomer and mara. BRM exceeds that.
I started playing WoW during 3.0.1 and stopped playing mid Cataclysm. Sadly, I never had the chance to experience true WoW Classic, but the classic zones and dungeons were (and still are) my favourite. The changes Blizzard made in Cataclysm to classic content ruined the game for me, but even during WoTLK it started to change for the worse (for example, the dungeon finder in 3.3.0 turned dungeons from adventures into chores). The gameplay videos simultaneously bring back good memories and give me something to look forward to. The music videos are a great background for work, I'm listening to them all day long. And the camerawork is very good, I enjoy looking at all the familiar places.
Hi Vladislav, You started playing WoW in it's golden age, it was really good back then. I am comparing it with Vanilla. I think we will have a blast in Vanilla.
