the worst thing about 2ne1 disbanding is that they never really got to reach their full potential. they could've done so much more and yg fucked it all up.
Red Velvet has 3 mini albuns and 1 full album, but even so, if you take all their releases, Red Velvet has pretty much the same number of songs 2NE1 had in 7 years, if not more. It is pretty ridiculous!

Dominique Burns I don't agree. I believe that YG believed CL was the real gem into making it mainstream in the United States hip hop scene and really pushed CL further away during the Bom scandal. CL isn't one to just sit around, if she would've had her way 2NE1 would still be promoting today. Obv. CL wants to be big in the U.S. But I believe she wanted to make a bigger name for herself and 2NE1 as a whole. All members of 2NE1 knew how special this group was and I believe all are hurting. When you think about it, YG has lied a lot. Like he made so many promises and some of them were just made to distract us from the real issues or terrible news. Taehyun just wanted to sing *tears* but why did YG end his whole contract under the label and not just his departure form WINNER?? so many questions *ugh*

Dominique Burns While I agree that his health is important, it concerns me that he expressed such a longing to create music (the "I just want to sing" breaks my heart) only to have his career cut short. His mental illness is left ambiguous, but a passion for something helps with the coping process. He wants to *sing*! He wants to create music, not be left out on it. I feel like they just assumed what would be good for him, and the blame for Winner's hiatus was being placed on his mental illness, which I can imagine is a *real* source of stress. This is why I feel like removing Taehyun from Winner is the WORST thing they could have done. They should have treated him like a human being, and not some scapegoat for their bad business decisions. They should not have stopped him from the thing he loves doing. I'm sorry for the long rant. I'm just really worried for Taehyun. Not angry at you or anything. I'm just really sad.
Let this soak in for a minute guys, 2ne1 had 2 full albums in 7 years.. 2. And yet they made such a name for themselves in the Kpop industry because of their talent and uniqueness. Looking back, they were yet another group that were simply neglected, thrown on the back burner, and never defended when a member came under fire. Worst of all, they got a lot more than other groups, which is not saying much. It just seems like these company heads don't see the fans, the group members, the love, the sense of family in our community, all they see are $$$. And when a group outlives it's usefulness, they're thrown aside.

Honestly I think YG needs to retire he insists on having the final say on music releases but he doesn't know how to deal with styles outside his comfort zone... because of that WINNER, AkMu and Lee Hi have suffered. Also the way they refused to release statements on Nam Taehyun's dating scandal causing him to get hate as well as blaming WINNER's hiatus on his mental illness (which anyone with common sense could realize does more harm than good) I just feel like yg has been shady as hell hopefully the company gets its shit together so the artists left don't have to suffer... oh and I wish Nammie nothing but the best I will continue to cheer for him

Any statement released, any press conference that's organized, any promotion he is aware of it but he's not apart of it. Any statement released about 2ne1 releasing a song during the summer or them not breaking up last year wasn't from him just letting you know.

Honestly as bad as this is and all the disbandments in 2016, there were also a lot of good stuff that came too like Jessica from SNSD freaking came back, and we got introduced to so many new and wonderful groups like IOI, BlackPink and NCT etc, and many more solos like Tiffany and Taeyeon from SNSD, Khyukun from SJ, Hyorin from Sistar, etc. Though we lost two major legends in 2016 (4Minute and 2NE1) their legacy and uniqueness will never be lost and their hard work will always be appreciated ❤️❤️❤️

2NE1 really did have everything going for them. after that mama 2015 performance, yg should've rode that wave and made a comeback for them earlier this year like during the first quarter. besides that, he also should've gave minzy a solo during their haitus because all of her fans (including me) were waiting for it since she was the last one to not have a solo (since cl, dara, and bom already had one) and the fact that she wanted one too but was never given a chance. *sigh* so much sadness and frustration but i just hope in the end that all the members still keep in contact with each other and are still friends after everything they've been through.
Talking about unreleased music...anyone even wonder what they ever did with 2NE1's U.S album? Like we all SAW them working with Will.I.Am and RECORDING those songs on 2NE1 TV (like what? 4-5 years ago?). And they said more than once that the recording for the album was DONE and FINISHED! But did we ever get them? Nope...I'm legit pissed. I think YG should release that album as a goodbye gift for us fans...we should at least get that much.

Back in January 2012 I stumbled across the video for 'Hate You', and had no idea how much it would change my life! 2NE1 was supposed to have a legit collab with Will.I.Am for an English album, they were supposed to have another record-breaking world tour and multiple chart-topping albums and singles , they were supposed to break more musical/cultural/gender barriers, and reach their full potential and stay together for a long time! 7 years is such a short time for such a legendary and game changing group! Who would have thought 2 years ago that 'Crush' and the 'AON Tour' would be there unofficial farewell album and tour! So many memories I've had with them for the past 5 years; My first kpop girl group...Thanks 2NE1!!!
I think everyone knew that 2ne1 was going to disband after Minzy left, but I thought they would have at least one more album. After this year F(X) is the only girl group left that I regularly listen to now.
The fact that Bom has been spotted numerous times at the YG building makes me think that maybe Bom actually did resign along with Dara and CL thinking she could still continue, but YG probably terminated her contract and decided to cancel 2ne1 all together
For the pass couple of days I've been trying to figure out why would YG lied about Minzy being the only person to leave the group in May. It really doesn't add up considering the fact that Bom has been making a effort to be seen in the public. Also shes been posting on her social media accounts. I think a day before YG announced their disbandment, she posted a video on istagram of her trying to show us that she's been practicing. She even posted a old school pic of her and dara for dara's bday with the hashtag #2ne1forever. So it could possible be that YG is trying to cover his ass by lying about Bom's contract. Unless Bom actually signed up to teddy's or tablo's company.
Let's be honest here, If you're not Big Bang you're screwed. I personally think YG thinks their artists are "exclusive" and doesn't like to update audiences of projects in order to build hype so he throws them into the dungeon. YG needs to get their management together. Kpop is just getting more and more competitive and I don't think YG understands that when they throw their artists into the dungeon they get forgotten. Where's Akdong, IKON. WINNER, Epik High? YG is FILLED with such talented artists that produce extreme quality music but they don't want to throw them a damn bone. They are doing IKON and WINNER dirty big time, to build so much hype with their survival shows and release damn good debut albums and then leave them in the dust with nothing to do afterwards? This whole situation is so upsetting. And I'm sure we all lost hope for 2NE1 when Minzy left. It just wasn't gonna be the same. Then you had BP debut and CL solo debut, not throwing shade, but that didn't help the situation. Throw out the old and in with the new. 2NE1 had so much more ahead of them if given the opportunity. Sad to see such an iconic group leave. Can't forget to mention that YG just edited out Taehyun from WINNER SNS pages. It's like he was never there now. YG needs to get their act together honestly.
Some things going on between the fans. 1. Rumor said 2NE1 was actually preparing for comeback with 2 Songs, that's why Bom keep coming to YG Building. 2. Rumor said that Bom is actually Blackpink's vocal trainer. On the top of that, I hate YG for always saying that 2NE1 members are ugly. He hurts them so much by saying they're ugly right in front of their faces. And then when blackpink about to debuted, he literally said Blackpink is the prettier version of 2NE1. Like Blackpink is prepared to replace 2NE1. I'm not mad at Blackpink, those innocent girls knew nothing but it's just YG sucks so bad, isn't it?

I was so devastated when I heard the news... I am heartbroken for Taehyun and I really have no idea how to deal with my feelings about 2NE1's disbandment. It hurts to listen to their music, to watch their live performances, to see their instagram posts... They were my favorite group, they had such a special place in my heart. The way I looked up to them and how much I admired and loved those ladies... now I'll never have that again. What hurts the most is thinking about how amazing they were together and how they still had so much potential to truly become the biggest girl group in the world, and YG just let that all go. It hurts me to see Bom still hiding from the public, people calling Minzy a snake, people commenting on CL's posts saying that she is selfish and blaming her for everything, and even accusing Dara of not caring. My girls went through so much, and I was truly hoping for the day they would rise up with an epic comeback and shut all their haters up by taking over the kpop world again... but it never happened, and that makes me so upset. I am just really thankful they were able to give us one last performance AS FOUR at MAMA last year, even though at the time, us Blackjacks never predicted all of the heartbreak soon to come. Let me just say this short and clear, there will NEVER BE ANOTHER GROUP LIKE 2NE1 in kpop or in the music industry in general.
They purposefully waited for BlackPink to debut to announce 2ne1 disbandment after, cause they didn't want it to interfere. Harsh YG. Especially cause they had recorded the song for comeback done since feb.
I think they waited until CL's tour was over or the tickets were sold...the news would affect her tour too especially because most of the people who went were 2NE1 fans hanging on that hope of 2NE1 as 3 coming back.
Honestly, kpop companies need to a page of out Japanese entertainment companies' book! In J-entertainment, usually when news gets out that a group is disbanding or a member is leaving they actually have press conferences addressing the matter. It helps to dispel any rumours or false stories or confusion cuz you're hearing everything from the horse's mouth. But the most important thing I appreciate about them is that groups and bands tend to always give a goodbye concert. That's is what you owe fans who spent so much money and time on supporting these artists. Kpop companies have zero respect for the fans. How can you let groups just dissolve like that without a proper farewell?
let's just be real, YG's absent-minded management is worse than SM's authoritarian rule. as morbid as this may sound, I'd rather my bias group constantly be given work than to be left out to dry.

I remember getting into kpop back in 2008 and I remember that year later when they debut and I had very hight hopes and support for this group that I grew up listening to and now that their gone I feel apart of me will never get that back again but I will always love them and I will forever be a blackjack
i got into kpop back in 2010 too, but i went straight to snsd to be my fav girl group and ive never really gotten into 2ne1 yet i still felt the pain and sadness of this disbandment. bc they have been so big and such a detrimental group in kpop since the golden years, and with so many groups (especially the girl groups) having members leaving or disbanding from that era this really is the nail in the coffin. i feel so disenchanted and old now in the kpop scene.... its so hard to see groups that were so popular that are still putting out great music and performances but becoming increasingly irrelevant is so sad. especially when you are an adult so you have more priorities and responsibilities to look after over supporting your fav kpop groups...

2ne1 was the first kpop group i ever listened to and just hearing them disbanding is heart breaking. They showed me a whole new world and i am forever thankful.
As someone who has been dealing with mental health issues the last couple years, that uncertainty that I feel like YG runs under sounds terrifying. Not just uncertainty of how well you will do but the uncertainty of when will you even make a comeback. That lack of schedule and routine sounds like the perfect recipe to seriously exacerbate mental health.
The thing that upsets me most is not the disbandment but the way it was handled. I mean yg literally threw Park Bom under a bus and didn't give a fuck about blackjacks even tho we have been loyal for so long waiting for a 2ne1 comeback for almost 3 years and he just kept lying giving us false hope. And Nam Taehyun the poor kid was let go of just like that. YG is ruining Winner even tho they are so talented. Both groups deserved better YG is a rat.

I am praying that SNSD who is my first kpop band comes to america for a solo tour or at least an SMTOWN concert. Call me naive but I legit thought they were going to come back with a comeback with 3 members. I was sad that Minzy left, but I was still glad the three members were together and YG stated they would come back in the near future. I wonder if CL felt burnt out as a leader...I wonder when Minzy decided to leave, there was no use in holding down the group because she always envisioned their group image as 4. Maybe she thought without 4 members, there's no 2NE1. Also, I think there was something bigger than Bom. I still remember reading the article where she said if she doesn't get into YG, she didn't want to be a singer. Now, she isn't part of YG anymore and I really believe there something deeper than the scandals and controversies that she's been involved with. Right before you made your last comments, I was literally saying that everything will come to light. This whole year has been filled with people not telling the truth and doing things in the dark...but it's true. What's done in the dark will come out in the light, and we are seeing that happen with a lot of things, and it will with this too. There are so many unanswered questions... I appreciate both of you so much for being real and discussing this with all of us.
Their contracts end in 2017. Not all of the members are going to resign. I know it's difficult to come to terms with but we need to realise that everything has to come to an end at some point. Most of the girl will have successful solo careers in the entertainment industry and they're all fairly active to varying degrees on social media so we won't lose them. It's best to just enjoy them while we still have them all together.
I'm not so sure. SNSD members have talked in the past that they want to be like g.o.d., which is celebrating her 17th year. I think they will come back together for major projects, but there's still plenty of time to pursue individual projects.
Why does no one ever talk about JYP and how he treats Day6? Like they debuted, and then the whole Junhyeok thing happened, they came out with Letting Go a few days after Junhyeok left and that was it. I've been waiting for another Day6 comeback! JYP made them delete their Twitters and IG's like Jae's Twitter was GOLD! I know it's been 7 months since Letting Go was released, but JYP always has Twice or GOT7 come out with stuff, not Day6. And don't get me wrong, I love GOT7 and Twice but I want to see DAY6 come out with new stuff! All the members are talented and JYP doesn't utilize these talents as well as he should. I just really hope that in 2017, DAY6 come out with something because it'll be 2 years since they debuted September 7, 2017, and I really hope they release something by then

I wonder why it seems like its only girl 2nd generation groups going through this right now. (Not that I want everyone to be on the chopping block. I'm worried about MBLAQ). I pray that Sistar stays for a long time. BEG will probably be okay. I will be so sad if I have to lose After School along with 4Minute, 2NE1, and K-ARA. Those are all my main veteran girl groups I love besides Miss A, Wonder Girls, and T-ARA.
When I first got into Kpop it was SHINee and 2NE1 all the way, like those girls taught me so much and YG did them so wrong. And Taehyun deserved better too.

i think when the contracts were up in may, dara and cl decided to re-sign their contracts but then minzy wanted to leave (reasonably). so yg was probably just in talks with bom about the contract throughout the period (possibly why she was in and out of the yg building). they probably couldnt come to a solution and decided not to continue together.

I pretty much saw the disbandment coming, but I really want that press conference now bc I find it HIGHKEY suspect that YG's been holding back on 2NE1 so long and in these last few years while we were waiting on 2NE1 he scrapped SuPearls, started and scrapped Punk Pink, and finally debuted BlackPink. Esp after he made Bom spend another year self reflecting. It looks (to me) like he gave up on Bom long ago and then after Minzy left knew he wasn't going to give 2NE1 any more play and just waited until he had another girl group established to announce it. Esp since he said in the interview he knows BP may sound similar to 2NE1 and in his opinion the only diff is BP "are pretty".
And I'm forever salty over his treatment of Winner. Supposedly, he had a girl group back in the day that he purposely paid no attention to so they could flop, disband, and he could marry one of the members. That's his present day wife. The saddest thing about all these legends disbanding isn't actually that they disbanded (which is already really terrible), but its how they disbanded. Thank you, Jasmine and Courtney, for perfectly articulating my frustrations about this whole mess. 2NE1 is a big part of my life and I'm finding it difficult to handle this news of disbandment for myself specially with the way they've been mistreated and the way YG is handling this situation. As if they didn't owe 2NE1 any of their company's successes. 2NE1 deserve better. Minzy, Bom, Dara, and CL deserve better. And YG owes it to all of us fans as well and I certainly think we deserve better, too. More than being lied to and being played at. YG is just so full of shade and shit.
Bom's contract according to the article noted her contract ended also in May yet only Minzy's contract was reported to end which is shady considering they were reporting a comeback. YG literally only has Sechksies, Blackpink, iKon and Mino who are active right now. Like what the?

I swear to god, if SHINee disbands I'm done with Kpop (unless if they disband on good terms, then I may reconsider). SHINee was my first ever exposure to Kpop and also my first ever group that I stan the most. Even though now I've moved on to stanning BTS because my taste in music has changed, I will still love and respect SHINee until the end! I will never EVER treat SHINee that bad like how YG treated 2NE1, WINNER, and all the other artists in YG!

New Subscriber! I haven't gotten into Winner to know the members but I feel bad for the fans. And it hurts me that 2ne1 is disbanding. and I couldn't see them as three but I'd still support them. but we all knew it was gonna happen, Minzy knew it was gonna end, and her family backed her up. the truth should have been spilled. all of these theory's are coming out left and right up and down. all directions. I honestly didn't know what to belive. this video cleared some of it up. as a Kpop fan/ TH-camr I don't know what to do now. as for winner I would like to get into them if you can recommend some songs that would be great but Nam Taehyun and his mental illness. I think Bom is also done with the industry too... 2NE1 has a lot of tea. Even if YG finally decided to let her scandal go, I feel like Bom feels to jaded since it was so blown out of proportion, and Minzy leaving was just icing on the cake. Remember that Bom's voice started failing in their later years so that could come into play too. At the end of the day, SOMEONE NEEDS TO JUST TELL US THE TRURTH so we can stop speculating. I'm sure Minzy doesn't want to say anything else because she had her farewell message, but the other 3 owe it to us.. Yes!! I feel like I'll be at ease if some of the dirt comes out. Because I feel like as a fan.... I'm not gonna be able to just be, "well okay 2NE1's gone, time to move on". YG just kicks everyone out or causes them to leave or whatever if they won't peacefully stay in the dungeon tbh. Also I know a lot of people are just like "I hope NamTae gets better" like....considering how much he loves music, I highly doubt that making music made his mental health worse. It seems like it was more about the whole never being promoted thing, so putting him on an official hiatus wasn't going to help. If YG really knew what was up, he would've put Taehyun in counseling or something and then moved WINNER's next comeback as close as possible.
I imagine he probably did feel bad, but all of this wouldn't have happened if YG handled it the way I said above. That way, Taehyun would get the help he needs and WINNER could come back with all 5 members. I also think YG probably kicked him out, considering the way he was acting on Instagram. I'm saying that if YG treated WINNER properly from the start, this probably wouldn't have happened. I think their lack of promotions is more stressful for them than promoting is.

Can we prove that? It's leaning towards that way but we need her in custody. Now going back to Park Bom, look what the girl did was wrong and whether I believe she used it to her addiction or to treat her illness.. it's not my place and it's certainly not my place to attack someone that I only know through a tv screen. Majority of the people were pissed off at her at the time because if she was a civilian she would've been in jail but since she was a celebrity she got away. So if my dad was the judge, lawyer, part of law enforcement... I'm sure I could've got the hookup and took a lighter punishment... that's another way of looking at it so I don't see why she gets the hate, still. Oh and it doesn't help this company adding scheskies to their list as Eun ji won is related to the current president. Lol, it's realllllly messy. The best thing that this company can do right now is stay quiet. Losing 2ne1 and replacing them with a knock off was a mistake and not letting Minzy shine was even a bigger mistake. The disbandment of 2NE1 has me devastated cause on top on this I still have to deal with 4MINUTE and KARA breaking up. Just like you guys when I first got into kpop 2NE1, SHINee, GG and Super Junior were my mains so now seeing one of the legendary groups come to an end got me so emotional. And with WINNER I didnt know them well but I fell in love with them when they were on Weekly Idol and you dont have to know them well to know just how much Nam Taehyun loves music and his group. People called him the 'Mama Bear' of the group cause he always takes cares of his members so seeing him go through this breaks my heart and I could only imagine what his members are going through. Thank you for adequately explaining my feels. I first got into KPop through MBLAQ and heard 'Lonely' by clicking on the recommended video list. Feel in love and YG became my go to company. This hurts because when all the drama with SM groups I would always joke that somewhere YG Family was breaking bread and laughing. Jokes on me, there's shady business everywhere. 2NE1 and their Blackjacks deserve better!
Honestly, I think YG Ent basically threw away Nam Tae Hyun and Park Bom. People are speculating that Park Bom actually did renew her contract but for selfish reasons, they decided to abandon Bom. Hear me out: Bom was seen going in and out of the YG building LONG after May. Also, in an interview, Dara mentioned there was a music video shooting of some sort. There hasn't been news of a Dara solo, so I'm assumed she meant a 2NE1 comeback. But suddenly Bom left 2NE1 a long time ago? There is also no reason why they would announce Bom's departure long after Minzy's when both of them didn't resign back in May. It just doesn't make sense, none of this adds up. I feel like Bom's appearance in MAMA 2015 was YG testing the waters to see how sensitive the public is about Bom's scandal. And very evidently, the general response was still terrible..therefore postponing any possible activity for 2NE1. Minzy got fed up with it so she left. I mean no sane person would waste their time in a company who halts your group's activities just because of a non existent crime. So Bom probably DID renew her contract and they DID started working on a 2NE1 comeback (hence the music video shooting Dara was talking about). But I think YG just doesn't see Bom as marketable as she was before, so they finally made the decision to dump her (cuz she's now "useless") and officially disband 2NE1. But they don't want to shed any bad light on themselves so they painted it out as if Bom never renewed her contract in the first place. As for Tae Hyun, it's obvious, YG's probably like "we're too lazy to deal with your mental illness, so we're dropping you too". And notice how they tried to blame him for it too...saying how he was the reason why Winner wasn't coming back. When we all *KNOW* even if all the members were in perfect condition (mentally AND physically), even if they've produced 3 albums worth of music, and filmed all the MVs, and learned all the choreo, YG *STILL* wouldn't give them a comeback. Why? Because YG is simply bad at managing his artists and it really doesn't help that he's also extremely biased and likes to play favorites.
Speaking off Girls Generation , I can feel it coming soon . I'm mean I'll be sad when that time comes, when they disband , bcos I'm a SONE for 4 years now and GG was the group that got me into Kpop. I don't ever wish for them to ever break up or disband but it's bound to happen soon or later.

I'm the same way. YHS said in an interview that he didn't even try to make BP and 2NE1 different. He said he wanted the BP girls to be pretty and have skills (basically took another shot at 2ne1's looks -___-). He basically molded them to be their replacement. He wasn't even ashamed to admit that. So much disrespect to a group that contributed greatly to kpop's global success. CL isn't one to just sit around, if she would've had her way 2NE1 would still be promoting today. Obv. Dominique Burns While I agree that his health is important, it concerns me that he expressed such a longing to create music (the "I just want to sing" breaks my heart) only to have his career cut short. His mental illness is left ambiguous, but a passion for something helps with the coping process. He wants to *sing*! He wants to create music, not be left out on it. I feel like they just assumed what would be good for him, and the blame for Winner's hiatus was being placed on his mental illness, which I can imagine is a *real* source of stress. This is why I feel like removing Taehyun from Winner is the WORST thing they could have done. They should have treated him like a human being, and not some scapegoat for their bad business decisions. They should not have stopped him from the thing he loves doing.
I'm sorry for the long rant. I'm just really worried for Taehyun. Not angry at you or anything. I'm just really sad.
Let this soak in for a minute guys, 2ne1 had 2 full albums in 7 years.. 2. And yet they made such a name for themselves in the Kpop industry because of their talent and uniqueness. Looking back, they were yet another group that were simply neglected, thrown on the back burner, and never defended when a member came under fire. Honestly I think YG needs to retire he insists on having the final say on music releases but he doesn't know how to deal with styles outside his comfort zone... because of that WINNER, AkMu and Lee Hi have suffered. Also the way they refused to release statements on Nam Taehyun's dating scandal causing him to get hate as well as blaming WINNER's hiatus on his mental illness (which anyone with common sense could realize does more harm than good) I just feel like yg has been shady as hell hopefully the company gets its shit together so the artists left don't have to suffer... oh and I wish Nammie nothing but the best I will continue to cheer for him

Any statement released, any press conference that's organized, any promotion he is aware of it but he's not apart of it. Any statement released about 2ne1 releasing a song during the summer or them not breaking up last year wasn't from him just letting you know.

Honestly as bad as this is and all the disbandments in 2016, there were also a lot of good stuff that came too like Jessica from SNSD freaking came back, and we got introduced to so many new and wonderful groups like IOI, BlackPink and NCT etc, and many more solos like Tiffany and Taeyeon from SNSD, Khyukun from SJ, Hyorin from Sistar, etc. Though we lost two major legends in 2016 (4Minute and 2NE1) their legacy and uniqueness will never be lost and their hard work will always be appreciated ❤️❤️❤️

2NE1 really did have everything going for them. after that mama 2015 performance, yg should've rode that wave and made a comeback for them earlier this year like during the first quarter. besides that, he also should've gave minzy a solo during their haitus because all of her fans (including me) were waiting for it since she was the last one to not have a solo (since cl, dara, and bom already had one) and the fact that she wanted one too but was never given a chance. *sigh* so much sadness and frustration but i just hope in the end that all the members still keep in contact with each other and are still friends after everything they've been through.

Like we all SAW them working with Will.I.Am and RECORDING those songs on 2NE1 TV (like what? 4-5 years ago?). And they said more than once that the recording for the album was DONE and FINISHED! But did we ever get them? Nope...I'm legit pissed. I think YG should release that album as a goodbye gift for us fans...we should at least get that much.

Back in January 2012 I stumbled across the video for 'Hate You', and had no idea how much it would change my life! 2NE1 was supposed to have a legit collab with Will.I.Am for an English album, they were supposed to have another record-breaking world tour and multiple chart-topping albums and singles , they were supposed to break more musical/cultural/gender barriers, and reach their full potential and stay together for a long time! 7 years is such a short time for such a legendary and game changing group! Who would have thought 2 years ago that 'Crush' and the 'AON Tour' would be there unofficial farewell album and tour! So many memories I've had with them for the past 5 years; My first kpop girl group...Thanks 2NE1!!!

I think everyone knew that 2ne1 was going to disband after Minzy left, but I thought they would have at least one more album. After this year F(X) is the only girl group left that I regularly listen to now.

The fact that Bom has been spotted numerous times at the YG building makes me think that maybe Bom actually did resign along with Dara and CL thinking she could still continue, but YG probably terminated her contract and decided to cancel 2ne1 all together
For the pass couple of days I've been trying to figure out why would YG lied about Minzy being the only person to leave the group in May. It really doesn't add up considering the fact that Bom has been making a effort to be seen in the public. Also shes been posting on her social media accounts. I think a day before YG announced their disbandment, she posted a video on istagram of her trying to show us that she's been practicing. She even posted a old school pic of her and dara for dara's bday with the hashtag #2ne1forever. So it could possible be that YG is trying to cover his ass by lying about Bom's contract. Unless Bom actually signed up to teddy's or tablo's company.

Let's be honest here, If you're not Big Bang you're screwed. I personally think YG thinks their artists are "exclusive" and doesn't like to update audiences of projects in order to build hype so he throws them into the dungeon. YG needs to get their management together. Kpop is just getting more and more competitive and I don't think YG understands that when they throw their artists into the dungeon they get forgotten. Where's Akdong, IKON. WINNER, Epik High? YG is FILLED with such talented artists that produce extreme quality music but they don't want to throw them a damn bone. They are doing IKON and WINNER dirty big time, to build so much hype with their survival shows and release damn good debut albums and then leave them in the dust with nothing to do afterwards? This whole situation is so upsetting.
And I'm sure we all lost hope for 2NE1 when Minzy left. It just wasn't gonna be the same. Then you had BP debut and CL solo debut, not throwing shade, but that didn't help the situation. Throw out the old and in with the new. 2NE1 had so much more ahead of them if given the opportunity. Sad to see such an iconic group leave.
Can't forget to mention that YG just edited out Taehyun from WINNER SNS pages. It's like he was never there now. YG needs to get their act together honestly.

I was so devastated when I heard the news... I am heartbroken for Taehyun and I really have no idea how to deal with my feelings about 2NE1's disbandment. It hurts to listen to their music, to watch their live performances, to see their instagram posts... They were my favorite group, they had such a special place in my heart. The way I looked up to them and how much I admired and loved those ladies... now I'll never have that again. What hurts the most is thinking about how amazing they were together and how they still had so much potential to truly become the biggest girl group in the world, and YG just let that all go. It hurts me to see Bom still hiding from the public, people calling Minzy a snake, people commenting on CL's posts saying that she is selfish and blaming her for everything, and even accusing Dara of not caring.
My girls went through so much, and I was truly hoping for the day they would rise up with an epic comeback and shut all their haters up by taking over the kpop world again... but it never happened, and that makes me so upset. I am just really thankful they were able to give us one last performance AS FOUR at MAMA last year, even though at the time, us Blackjacks never predicted all of the heartbreak soon to come. Let me just say this short and clear, there will NEVER BE ANOTHER GROUP LIKE 2NE1 in kpop or in the music industry in general.

Honestly, kpop companies need to a page of out Japanese entertainment companies' book! In J-entertainment, usually when news gets out that a group is disbanding or a member is leaving they actually have press conferences addressing the matter. It helps to dispel any rumours or false stories or confusion cuz you're hearing everything from the horse's mouth. But the most important thing I appreciate about them is that groups and bands tend to always give a goodbye concert. That's is what you owe fans who spent so much money and time on supporting these artists. Kpop companies have zero respect for the fans. How can you let groups just dissolve like that without a proper farewell?
let's just be real, YG's absent-minded management is worse than SM's authoritarian rule. as morbid as this may sound, I'd rather my bias group constantly be given work than to be left out to dry.

I remember getting into kpop back in 2008 and I remember that year later when they debut and I had very hight hopes and support for this group that I grew up listening to and now that their gone I feel apart of me will never get that back again but I will always love them and I will forever be a blackjack
i got into kpop back in 2010 too, but i went straight to snsd to be my fav girl group and ive never really gotten into 2ne1 yet i still felt the pain and sadness of this disbandment. bc they have been so big and such a detrimental group in kpop since the golden years, and with so many groups (especially the girl groups) having members leaving or disbanding from that era this really is the nail in the coffin. i feel so disenchanted and old now in the kpop scene.... its so hard to see groups that were so popular that are still putting out great music and performances but becoming increasingly irrelevant is so sad. especially when you are an adult so you have more priorities and responsibilities to look after over supporting your fav kpop groups...

2ne1 was the first kpop group i ever listened to and just hearing them disbanding is heart breaking. They showed me a whole new world and i am forever thankful.
As someone who has been dealing with mental health issues the last couple years, that uncertainty that I feel like YG runs under sounds terrifying. Not just uncertainty of how well you will do but the uncertainty of when will you even make a comeback. That lack of schedule and routine sounds like the perfect recipe to seriously exacerbate mental health.
The thing that upsets me most is not the disbandment but the way it was handled. I mean yg literally threw Park Bom under a bus and didn't give a fuck about blackjacks even tho we have been loyal for so long waiting for a 2ne1 comeback for almost 3 years and he just kept lying giving us false hope. Call me naive but I legit thought they were going to come back with a comeback with 3 members. I was sad that Minzy left, but I was still glad the three members were together and YG stated they would come back in the near future. I wonder if CL felt burnt out as a leader...I wonder when Minzy decided to leave, there was no use in holding down the group because she always envisioned their group image as 4. Maybe she thought without 4 members, there's no 2NE1. Also, I think there was something bigger than Bom. I still remember reading the article where she said if she doesn't get into YG, she didn't want to be a singer. Now, she isn't part of YG anymore and I really believe there something deeper than the scandals and controversies that she's been involved with.

Their contracts end in 2017. Not all of the members are going to resign. I know it's difficult to come to terms with but we need to realise that everything has to come to an end at some point. Most of the girl will have successful solo careers in the entertainment industry and they're all fairly active to varying degrees on social media so we won't lose them. It's best to just enjoy them while we still have them all together.

Why does no one ever talk about JYP and how he treats Day6? Like they debuted, and then the whole Junhyeok thing happened, they came out with Letting Go a few days after Junhyeok left and that was it. I've been waiting for another Day6 comeback! JYP made them delete their Twitters and IG's like Jae's Twitter was GOLD! I know it's been 7 months since Letting Go was released, but JYP always has Twice or GOT7 come out with stuff, not Day6. i think when the contracts were up in may, dara and cl decided to re-sign their contracts but then minzy wanted to leave (reasonably). so yg was probably just in talks with bom about the contract throughout the period (possibly why she was in and out of the yg building). they probably couldnt come to a solution and decided not to continue together.

I pretty much saw the disbandment coming, but I really want that press conference now bc I find it HIGHKEY suspect that YG's been holding back on 2NE1 so long and in these last few years while we were waiting on 2NE1 he scrapped SuPearls, started and scrapped Punk Pink, and finally debuted BlackPink. Esp after he made Bom spend another year self reflecting. It looks (to me) like he gave up on Bom long ago and then after Minzy left knew he wasn't going to give 2NE1 any more play and just waited until he had another girl group established to announce it. Esp since he said in the interview he knows BP may sound similar to 2NE1 and in his opinion the only diff is BP "are pretty".
And I'm forever salty over his treatment of Winner. He bent over backwards to make sure the boys (who'd eventually become ikon) survived but didn't give a tenth of that attention or effort to the winners of Winner- those hiatuses were abysmal and now Tae's left. Idk if he chose to leave bc of a lack of support or if he got forced out but either way I blame the company 100% and I'm big mad about it and wish Tae the best.

As if they didn't owe 2NE1 any of their company's successes. 2NE1 deserve better. Minzy, Bom, Dara, and CL deserve better. And YG owes it to all of us fans as well and I certainly think we deserve better, too. More than being lied to and being played at. YG is just so full of shade and shit.

I swear to god, if SHINee disbands I'm done with Kpop (unless if they disband on good terms, then I may reconsider). SHINee was my first ever exposure to Kpop and also my first ever group that I stan the most. Even though now I've moved on to stanning BTS because my taste in music has changed, I will still love and respect SHINee until the end! It seems like it was more about the whole never being promoted thing, so putting him on an official hiatus wasn't going to help. If YG really knew what was up, he would've put Taehyun in counseling or something and then moved WINNER's next comeback as close as possible.
I imagine he probably did feel bad, but all of this wouldn't have happened if YG handled it the way I said above. That way, Taehyun would get the help he needs and WINNER could come back with all 5 members. I also think YG probably kicked him out, considering the way he was acting on Instagram. I'm saying that if YG treated WINNER properly from the start, this probably wouldn't have happened. I think their lack of promotions is more stressful for them than promoting is.

How you telling me that park Bom isn't in YG anymore when they clearly stated back in May the all the girls beside Minzy renewed their contracts. A news report came out not too long ago about president park that she was MIA for seven hours during the sewol ferry incident and there are speculations that she was getting a Botox. Can we prove that? It's leaning towards that way but we need her in custody.
Now going back to Park Bom, look what the girl did was wrong and whether I believe she used it to her addiction or to treat her illness.. it's not my place and it's certainly not my place to attack someone that I only know through a tv screen. Majority of the people were pissed off at her at the time because if she was a civilian she would've been in jail but since she was a celebrity she got away.
So if my dad was the judge, lawyer, part of law enforcement... I'm sure I could've got the hookup and took a lighter punishment... that's another way of looking at it so I don't see why she gets the hate, still.

The best thing that this company can do right now is stay quiet. Losing 2ne1 and replacing them with a knock off was a mistake and not letting Minzy shine was even a bigger mistake. As far as the guy departing from winner I'm sure he'll do fine he written some great songs for their last album and I like the guy's voice.

The disbandment of 2NE1 has me devastated cause on top on this I still have to deal with 4MINUTE and KARA breaking up. Just like you guys when I first got into kpop 2NE1, SHINee, GG and Super Junior were my mains so now seeing one of the legendary groups come to an end got me so emotional. And with WINNER I didnt know them well but I fell in love with them when they were on Weekly Idol and you dont have to know them well to know just how much Nam Taehyun loves music and his group. People called him the 'Mama Bear' of the group cause he always takes cares of his members so seeing him go through this breaks my heart and I could only imagine what his members are going through. I have a good feeling they'll disband and it's heartbreaking cause they have so much potential. plus YGentertainment is trash and they have no type of respect for their employees I'm praying for BLACKPINK and iKON. 🙏🏾

Thank you for adequately explaining my feels. I first got into KPop through MBLAQ and heard 'Lonely' by clicking on the recommended video list. Feel in love and YG became my go to company. This hurts because when all the drama with SM groups I would always joke that somewhere YG Family was breaking bread and laughing. Jokes on me, there's shady business everywhere. 2NE1 and their Blackjacks deserve better!

Honestly, I think YG Ent basically threw away Nam Tae Hyun and Park Bom. People are speculating that Park Bom actually did renew her contract but for selfish reasons, they decided to abandon Bom. Hear me out: Bom was seen going in and out of the YG building LONG after May. Also, in an interview, Dara mentioned there was a music video shooting of some sort. There hasn't been news of a Dara solo, so I'm assumed she meant a 2NE1 comeback. But suddenly Bom left 2NE1 a long time ago? There is also no reason why they would announce Bom's departure long after Minzy's when both of them didn't resign back in May. It just doesn't make sense, none of this adds up.
I feel like Bom's appearance in MAMA 2015 was YG testing the waters to see how sensitive the public is about Bom's scandal. And very evidently, the general response was still terrible..therefore postponing any possible activity for 2NE1. Minzy got fed up with it so she left. I mean no sane person would waste their time in a company who halts your group's activities just because of a non existent crime.
So Bom probably DID renew her contract and they DID started working on a 2NE1 comeback (hence the music video shooting Dara was talking about). But I think YG just doesn't see Bom as marketable as she was before, so they finally made the decision to dump her (cuz she's now "useless") and officially disband 2NE1. But they don't want to shed any bad light on themselves so they painted it out as if Bom never renewed her contract in the first place.
As for Tae Hyun, it's obvious, YG's probably like "we're too lazy to deal with your mental illness, so we're dropping you too". And notice how they tried to blame him for it too...saying how he was the reason why Winner wasn't coming back. When we all *KNOW* even if all the members were in perfect condition (mentally AND physically), even if they've produced 3 albums worth of music, and filmed all the MVs, and learned all the choreo, YG *STILL* wouldn't give them a comeback. Why? Because YG is simply bad at managing his artists and it really doesn't help that he's also extremely biased and likes to play favorites.

It's really just crazy, YG should of known that 2NE1 and BIGBANG is the reason why he is known. 2NE1 was known all over the world and just for him to just legit give up on them like that is crazy. 2NE1 brought in the big bucks for YG. He lost something so big but you know two of them are still in the entertainment but also people remember Park Bom worked her ass off to get in YG. All of them were very unique and special and they all word hard. It's very very sad... act least get them up to 10 years like Big Bang. But no. I'm the same way. YHS said in an interview that he didn't even try to make BP and 2NE1 different. He said he wanted the BP girls to be pretty and have skills (basically took another shot at 2ne1's looks -___-). He basically molded them to be their replacement. He wasn't even ashamed to admit that. So much disrespect to a group that contributed greatly to kpop's global success.

Blackpink were not made to replace 2ne1, they were in the making since before things just went downhill for 2ne1. YG said originally he wanted a "yg snsd" but that didn't work out.
