RC ADVENTURES - Black Sheep Customs Bouncer Tube Cage Upgrade for Axial Wraith 4x4

- Click to Subscribe! ► bit.ly/JOovvU - A few weeks ago Curtis Landry of Black Sheep Customs asked if he could build me a cage. Turns out he already had a few for sale that I liked. I chose the G-made Sawback Jeep rock bouncer cage. It's a beauty..and its made out of 3/16 Brake Line Tubing. Brazed with Silver Solder, with painted in flat black. This is Super Strong! I see a lot of potential, even in upgrading to an MOA setup, with rear steer. But for todays film, I figured I would strip one of my wraiths "OLD" style plastic cages.. and upgrade it to this LANDRY SPECiAL.

The axle housings I am using today are Vanquish Products aluminum housings. Titanium Axles, and beefed up high clearance links are also on this build, with MiP Drive Shafts. Yes, I did have to modify my lower aluminum skid plate.. but my grinder and rotating cutting tool made short work of it. A bit of black paint, and I was only my way within ten minutes.
Upon the completion of the upgrade, I take a look at the wheels and tires I am installing for the moment. Next I am going to have to decide what kind of power system I am going to install... choices choices! It will be a Tekin system, probably an RX8 or RS ESC.. and some crazy motor.. but we will see what I have kicking around.
Also, I have to consider what battery to hook into this system.. hmmm, how much room will I have? If I switch to MOA, the RC4WD Bully 2 Competition axles.. then I will have 100% of the transmission space for.. well.. what ever I like.. hehe.

"Artwork" is definately the right term to use. Tube chassis have always impressed me seeing I've tried enough times to know how difficult they are to make symetrical, clean, etc.
Haha no way! Me and Curtis got into the bouncer/cage scene around the same time. Although I don't make cages, I build around them. Glad my man is getting exposure, sweet dude!

Man your update videos make me excited, even though I'm do not have an RC, I think the hobby is cool. I'm still a young kid. Maybe when I grow up I will do this stuff.

It's very therapeutic to watch you work with all of your RC's, I like the unboxings and all the maintenance you do. I lost the use of my hands from severe arthritis, so it's great to watch what I used to love to do. So thanks Mepic...
+Tony Charlesworth Thats awesome that you still get enjoyment from this hobby.My grandfather,who has since passed, had ALS .His hands and arms were the first things to stop working.He was an extremely handy person,able to fix anything so it was especially hard on him. But he got some enjoyment from watching myself and my father tinker in the garage. With alot of advice and description, I was still able to learn alot from him. Perhaps that is a way also for you to enjoy this hobby as well?

Awesome looking rig! Really gives it a custom look. I am a fan of the Ripsaws though. For a RtR tire I think Axial really hit a home run with them.

Absolutely badass! Sits just a little high for my liking though. I had to sell my slash to buy tools for work and truck parts, but now im thinking about getting back into the hobby and buying another wraith! Havent had an axial since my AX-10 back in like 2008!

Definitely wanna see updates on this bad boy. Just getting back into the hobby (own an SC10 2wd RTR), and considering either a wraith or a yeti for a crawler, or an rc10b5 as my next rc. Just joined the RCSparks nation a few weeks ago, and love your vids! Keep up the good work.

that cage is sick I tried building one out of some small gauge steel rod at tractor supply and its harder than I thought but it worked out put it on my slash ultimate and it looks sick except 2 weeks later bashed it into the ground so its in the wrokshop now lol.

nice new rig medic I really like it maybe try and put the rc4wd scale v8 engine and trans in it with no hood covering it make it look like the real rockbouncer that would be really sick to see

This kind of wrench goes with Kyosho Mad Force or Fo Xx. You can buy org set of screws and get one of these on Ebay. Handy thing;)
