  • United Nations Security Council reform and introducing a common currency - those were two of the proposals discussed at a meeting of the BRICS economic bloc.
Foreign ministers from Brazil, Russia, India, China and hosts South Africa, are holding talks in Cape Town.
BRICS nations often position themselves as an alternative to Western geopolitical dominance.
The group is also looking to expand. Officials from countries like Saudi Arabia and Iran attended the meeting.
Al Jazeera’s Fahmida Miller reports from Cape Town.

BRICS seeks to create a new currency, considering gold's historical role as a store of value and medium of exchange. However, the functionality and acceptance of a gold-backed currency in the current global financial system are uncertain. Creating a new currency requires careful consideration of economic, political, and logistical factors.

The discussions and proposals surrounding BRICS nations' potential use of gold are intriguing. People choose to buy gold for various reasons, such as its historical role as a store of value and medium of exchange, its potential as a hedge against inflation or currency devaluation, and its relative scarcity compared to other commodities. Gold also offers diversification benefits to investment portfolios due to its low correlation with stocks and bonds. However, investing in gold carries risks and may not be suitable for everyone. Investors should carefully evaluate their objectives, risk tolerance, and financial situation before deciding.

A perfect storm is brewing in the United States. Inflation, bank collapse, severe drought in the agricultural belt, recession, food shortages, diesel fuel and heating oil shortages, baby formula shortages, available automobile shortages and prices, the price of living place. It's all coming together and it could lead to a real disaster towards the end of this year (or sooner). With inflation currently at about 6%, my primary concern is how to maximize my savings/retirement fund of about $300k which has been sitting duck since forever with zero to no gains.

BRICS wants to build a new currency. It is also worth noting that gold has historically been used as a store of value and a means of exchange, and some countries still hold significant amounts of gold in their reserves. However, it is unclear how a new currency backed by gold would function in the current global financial system and whether it would gain widespread acceptance. Ultimately, any decision to create a new currency would be subiect to numerous economic, political, and logistical considerations.

US/UK or the West should most diffinitely be disqualified to join BRICS.. on grounds that they will never see us the rest of the world as their equals.. All these other world bodies are already owned,
Run and funded by them..The one who pays the piper always calls the tune.. We do not want colonisation 2.0.. The rest of the world Actually has little in common with them as they so often remind us.. Formning BRICS was precisly to getaway from the master servant relationship to put it very bluntly or if we must call a spade a spade ..empires rise n empires fall and the West is falling.. Rotting from within.. Its time for others to rise and not to be taken down with them.. Like Biden falling all over the place, confused and needing a sherpard to herd him.. What about all the illegal, proxy and regime Change wars around The world? Shoulder to shoulder they go on from conflict to conflict.. Why I wonder is it only European wars that end up as world wars?.. We want development not wars of conquest.. .. The world is enough of the same old aggressive NATO..
A real balancing of power is needed.. The west is 15% or less of the world’s population.. Its time power was grippled and grabbed out of their hands because total power has totally corrupted them absolutely.. Don't get me started on their WEF, their vulgar and greedy cooperations and the control they have over the world..The revolving doors with in the corridoors of power.. They all need to be checkmated like yesterday..
Thats why most of the world is looking up to Putin starry eyed.. Its because finally.. at long last.. Like the bully in the school yard that gets whats coming to them.. The west thought sanctioning others is their exclusive right until Putin showed us how to slap them right back.. Oops the genie can not be put back in the bottle.. We are learning..
Power does not respect weakness.. Power respects power.. Suddenly even our sleepy Africa that were being told to jump by EU/USA/West and usually asking how high we should jump we have seen the light and becoming an awakening giant..tell the west to fork off! 😅
They were tripping over themselves going to Africa about nonsensical transgender agendas.. Being so force ful about if.. Complaining about China in Africa.. Funny thing is they landning their planes, driving on in Africa on Chinese built infrastructure.. Using Chinese ports, railways..they doing business with China but we must not.. Question is do we want the west transgender agendas and rights.. or do we want n need basic infrastructure, sharing of miltary exercise with Russia n China.. Clean water food, electricity and shelter? .. The west believe the most important rights are gay and transgender rights..where men can compete with women in sports, in front of the mirror putting make up..
How come Kamala Harris by passed Saudi Arabia the whole Middle East and didn’t preached to them about gay rights!? 😂 Soft touch Africa is saying enough! Keep your transgender agendas there we have enough of our own problems to deal with.. Take you 60 million and strings attached AID and go back home.. Who is aiding who in reality when the west takes 6times plus than the crumbs they throw at us.. Pay the going price for our resources you can not do without.. Again thank to President Putin for showing the rest of us how to do it..

President Lula in Brazil has been one of the loudest advocates FOR expanding BRICS, especially to other Latin American states (he has openly touted both Argentina and Venezuela as possible members) while the South African Government has been the most vocal in highlighting double digit numbers of countries interest in seeking membership.
I think the assumption here is that if BRICS expanded Brazil would be the rallying point for new South American members and South Africa for new members in Sub-Saharan Africa. Its a soft power win for both.

And those advancements include Gebbels propaganda (fake news, lies, rewriting history, psyops, en masse brainwashing, etc.) which is used by USA since 1945. Another "advancement" of US is the methods of submission and destruction of weaker countries and stealing their resources using "sanctions", coups, proxy wars, mass murders and petrodollar. Nothing says "peace and freedom" like the word "destroy" ... If this civilisation doesn't remove the artificial divides, that are borders and doesn't unite, it'll go extinct. Ain't becoming a viable space bearing civilisation divided.

    Invite Venezuela

    • @galimbertino4939
      @galimbertino4939 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Done already. It is not a question of BRICS inviting other countries, it is more a question of other countries all declaring, one by one, that they are interested in BRICS and applying. Currently 19 countries have applied since 1 year, and Venezuela is the last one that applied. Now the BRICS problem is being consistent and defining a common fair frameworks that can sustain it's expansion and cohesion.

The brics push by russia is starting to seam an axis pact. Umbellivable how countries agree of doing these kind of games with a country that in the last 20 years have invade georgia chechenia also afeganistan and now Ucrain. Worst. They never left lands occupied during WWII.
And they say still that they can invade other countries. Moldovia.
    What hipocrisy.

2:13 Based on GDP, geopolitical influence & strategic locations, the seven (7) fore-runners of 2023 BRICS membership are: Argentina, Indonesia, Iran, Nigeria, Saudi
Arabia, UAE and Vietnam. These countries can bring lots of goodies to the expanded BRICS table!

Lol what? there's no such thing . Neither South Africa or Brazil need to be concerned about such a thing . We talking about the two of the richest countries in Africa and Southern America how do you replace that ? Think in terms of Geopolitical affairs let alone the combined resources , man power and technology between those two countries. So is Kazakhstan or some other new party going to dilute anything? I think not .
