Rob is wrong about the 1964 Topps giants cards. They were not sold or given away at ballparks. They were originally sold in three card packs with a stick of gum for a nickel per pack.
wax and breaks are through the roof & value of cards drop everyday . this hobby is not worth it anymore if you trying to make a buck, still cool if your a collector but that’s it. i got into it in 2015 where wax hobby boxes where $100- $500 for high end . today wax is 5 times that price and cards are the same price they were in 2015 or lower , the hobby is dead for investment
Take the peel off the bag and slide it into a regular card sleeve. Sticks and room for 10-15 before you need a new sleeve. I always have old sleeves lying around so its a no brainer
Prices are up to the hobby. We literally dictate the market with every deal we complete. If you want things to go up, we all need to pay more. Thats why things pre-grading were so different. Now we all buy using apps and establishing comps in real time. If we want this hobby to become truly investment worthy, we need to do what people do who buy art: buy their big pieces for big prices to help bring up the market on their lesser pieces. We don’t do that in our hobby , it’s a flea market mentality with art gallery pricing.

Nice content, it has gotten too busy and expensive for me to collect as much anymore but I am still a huge fan of the hobby. One thing I don't really like about the hobby is that there's no high quality and super cheap card pricing and inventory tracking resources out there. That said my personal project is to try and create a good quality and cheap app/website for automatcally storing and pricing cards. It's been tough so far but it keeps me thoroughly invested in the hobby!

Now you can get his rookie for 25 cents. You just never know who is going to be the next hot card to buy. Ok my great idea that I just had. You should hold a auto/pic day at the Burbank store !! You have a lot of fans and I am sure they would be willing to travel a few hrs to have a chance to meet you. You could make up a crap load of kid packs and give each kid a pack too. You can't expect 9 years to make you a big turn around. Keep your rookies, inserts until the player determines his fate. 😉

Some cards are dropping sure. But everything is still higher than pre pandemic. That should be a win in itself.
