Found the best way to apply is the method suggested by Wayne Goss & Risa Does Make Up. Apply a few pumps into the palm of your hand, work it into a dense foundation brush until there's none left in your hand. The brush is then loaded with product. Then buff is quick circular motions all over the face. It's seamless, non patchy and definitely helps with the wear. I was ready to give up on DW (again!) until I started applying it like this.
Loved the video! I'm 53 years old and I've worn EL Double Wear since it launched in 1997. I still use other foundations but always come back to this one. I love mixing this foundation with others. Especially the new Maybelline Super Stay Skin Tint.
The EL rep at my Macy's counter said mixing with a serum would be good if you're especially dry. Of course, she recommended Advanced Night Repair, but I have mixed it with Olay Super Serum. Any serum will probably work unless it's really emollient.
Hi ! I totally agree with you ! I tried a lotof foundation too, but, obviously, when I want to be really sure of my make up for very long day (especially with hot weather), this is the best. The tip is to only use one pump (yes… I’m very anoyed to have to pay for 8 euros for a pump too 😤). My second option is my Mac fix plus foundation 😜 A little bit of mineralize skin finish powder on it for both to unify prefectly : natural, long lasting, no crease ❤❤❤ Thank you for the video and have a very nice Sunday !
My second option is also the Mac fix plus, that now comes with a PUMP!!!And yes, I agree with you about the mineralize skin finish. It's great 😃. I still don't get why we need to buy the pump separately for the ELDW 😡.
I have tried and tested many many foundations and yes, I have more than just a container full of foundations that I don't use - I always come back to DW - it never fails!
Double Wear Foundation ❤ I used it in the past, and it's wonderful. Double Wear Light, another love of my life (the original, none of the other glowing versions) I miss that Foundation. Your video wants me to run to the store and repurchase it 😊
Love this video! 🎉🎉🎉 I actually thought the DoubleWear tended to cakiness so now I’m totally sold having heard your recommendation. And yes they should sponsor you! And provide a pump too!
Hi Tracy, I had a preconceived idea that Double Wear would be cakey, too. Got it yesterday in1C0 Shell. It created a beautiful vail, and withstood a hot, humid day. This is the first liquid foundation I bought after purchasing Clarins Everlasting! That foundation was a traffic accident!
Hi Sue I’m someone who has never liked double wear😂and it looks terrible on my very dry skin - it amplifies every line on my face (crypt keeper indeed 😂). I have tried it several times over the years including just a couple of years ago. I’ve tried it over different primers etc but have never been able to make it work. I’ve also tried it with fingers, sponge and brush. It’s just not for me so I don’t think those with really dry skin will love it. Climate can play a role however and living in Scotland means most of the year is colder. If you are dry and live in a hot/humid climate then it may work but get a sample first. A favourite of mine that is longwear is the Dior backstage face and body. I get more compliments on my skin with that than anything else I use. It’s a light to medium coverage and is never cakey or dry looking on my skin so might be worth a sample for the really dry skinned folks out there. Best wishes x
Thank you Loraine! I also love the Dior backstage, but haven't tried the new one yet. I do remember you saying in the past that ELDW was too drying for you xx
I have dry mature skin so Double Wear is not for me BUT .....their Double Wear Sheer Long Wearing Makeup is fabulous! !!!!! The bottle is plastic and you squeeze it out - great - and its a very liquid texture so its kind to older skin and does not get cakey. Dry mature ladies should check it out.
I sometimes mix the double wear with the double wear sheer to lighten the texture a bit. I have the same shade in both so it works well and it gives a little lighter coverage but the staying power is still there.
I have several foundations that I tested because they were less expensive. I am using those on days when I just need to toss something on to go to the market. I also like the Futurist Hydrating foundation.
I had this preconceived notion that it would be cakey, but it’s very light weight. Being the foundation connoisseur that you are, I’d love it if you could review Gurlain’s foundations.

I agree.

It is a fabulous foundation to mix with others, I agree! 😉
You answered my question about adding moisture or oil, thought it might effect the performance. Thankyou for clearing that up 👍

Agree, agree, agree! I wear 2N1 and am going to get the 3N1 for summer now.
Yes! A convert like me 🤗

I take notes while watching your videos. Thank you!
Pleasure 🤗😊

It is so dependable for sure! X

Hello! Yes I loved the original light version too!!
❤❤❤ My favourite foundation too!
Another convert! Yay!! 🙌
Can you please do a video on skincare prep prior to the application of this foundation?
Enjoyed your video so much!
Thank you Anna! 😊

Thank you ❤️. Definitely no cakiness 🤩

@@MsActor2009 I'm so pleased that you love it! Way better than Clarins!
I like the Clarins Everlasting bottle, but the ivory 01 shade makes me look orange 👀 It’s just weird!

@@CarolHodney I loved the previous sheer double wear version. It was my HG!!
@@Fifty-sense Oh yes.... that one was better! Why oh why do they change things ... not just Lauder but Everyone! Rrrr
@@CarolHodney That is a great idea!
Hi Sue, thank you for the video. This my holy grail. I sometime use 1 pump of MAC Studio Fix and 1 pump of ESDW for full glam. :)
It is a great mixing foundation, I agree! 😺
I have several foundations that I tested because they were less expensive. I am using those on days when I just need to toss something on to go to the market. I also like the Futurist Hydrating foundation.
I tried the Futurist a few years ago. I really enjoyed it too 😺
I love this foundation as well
Can you please tell me the name of what other skin care products are using under this foundation? Spf as well?
I used Neutrogen hydro boost gel cream and Nivea shine control spf50
Thank you!
Buying a bottle today! I don’t have any liquid foundation and I’m having a professional photo taken tomorrow!
It photographs beautifully! Good luck for the photo!

@@MsActor2009 ooh yes! I will see if I can get my hands on one.
❤❤❤
I find it goes on better with a foundation brush,,l
No pump means you use more it’s simple ..with a pump you can easily regulate the ammount
Yip. It seems like that's their strategy 😡
But environmentally friendly to reuse the pump…
Spent a fortune, tried every application and had to give to a friend.. Awfully heavy cover.
I'm sorry to hear that 😞
