One additional tip when doing lane freezing during the first 5 mins: clear the first 2 small minions except for the cannon minion while letting enemy mm clearing their wave. Stand in front of your turret and just hold the cannon minion (without it being too close to the turret to avoid being hit) to force the enemy mm to come closer to you to farm. This will make them more vulnerable to ganks.
Good tip, I use this as well, however people should know that this is not always applicable in lower ranks as in lower ranks solo queue, roamers often clear your wave despite you telling them not to
Heres a thing to remember as a gold laner in early game: PLEASE dont take the jungle like if you take the beetle, theres a chance your jungler will be still lvl 3 and the jungler needs that beetle for ganking your lane with ult.

What was forgot to be mentioned is gold lane is the lane where it has no first turtle spawn (opposite of first turtle spawn--first turtle spawn lane is always exp lane).
Additional tip: Never ever believe you can 1v5 the enemy even when you are 3 items ahead of your counterpart. 1 shutdown can let your enemies earn enough gold from you to balance out the gap in mere seconds
Sometimes baiting the enemy is somewhat crucial too and if you as gold laner can survive 3 man gank or atleast hold them long enough then you basically help the team massively even if the enemy jungler is ling or baxia their 1 is usually on cd so it'll take some time to go to the turtle that if your jungler is sane then he'll immediately safely secure it and your dead won't be wasted (hence why mm like claude is meta rn with his high mobility and high outplay capabilities and if you dare yourself 1 v 1 head on against other mm like even brody you may still win if you use inspire spell)

Im an exp laner and i tried to main an mm hero and i sucked as gold lane. I was used being aggressive as an exp laner and i wasn't playing safe as a gold laner. I was always getting jumped by my enemy's tank and my lane was always ganked. This video helped me ❤
Glad to hear that it was helpful to you! The mindset of playing exp and gold is very different, so it's understandable that you will struggle at first. Similarly, gold laners may struggle if they just started playing in exp.
here is some tips i learn from pro players 1. Hero with inspire will always win lanes in a 1v1 2. Dont drag your joystick and tap basic attack at the same time because it will reduce your atk speed thus reduce your damage output 3. Attack at the tip of your range(the circle when you press the BA)its easier to side step and escape with dash skills 4. Learn other heroes skill range.. example: Other MM atk range, roamers flicker combo 5. Swap lanes if you won your lane aka the enemy 1st tower is destroyed or you get a full gold plating 6. Learn your hero power scale...which heroes get strong at 2 items or 4 items 7. Join teamfights at objective especially the 2nd Lord
Here to add things that apply to all players, but mainly Gold laners. 1. You MUST know how to Tower hit. It means you are hitting the Tower even when there are other enemy heroes and minions around. (Targeting system under Settings) 2. Same thing but different targets. You can select the targeting system where if you hold your Basic Attack button, you can select what to aim instead. This is useful for last hitting and forcing your basic attacks to land on minions instead of the enemy heroes. 3. I don't need you to build All-super-TANKY-unkillable-Metal-piece-of-Rock, I just need you to SURVIVE the enemy burst (Eudora, Harley, Hayabusa, etc). Either you can out run them (very rarely), or defense items ( 10:25 ).
Even though i am a roam player i also play mm which mostly includes edith and edith as it's perfect for my playstyle and can go toe to toe with most mm in early u just have to not die in the lane.
It’s worth mentioning that being polite and crafty in convincing your teammates to pressure gold makes all the difference in the world. You can be outclassed by opponent mm and one good member on your team can flip the script and help you win.

What baffles me is that, how can people know that _this_ hero counters _that_ hero? Like, yes, we can factor in the range of the Marksman and their damage. But, what are the other factors in deciding who counters who? Hope this video can enlighten me! (I don't get the Marksman role that often, so having the knowledge now and when I get to land the role would be very helpful)
"Counters" change with updates tho. More damage can easily tip the scales in the favour of another hero and possibly become a "counter". Most of the counters MM vs MM are just soft counters, since they don't really hard counter each other, like Lolita vs Chang'e or Phoveus vs dash heroes. So I didn't really cover counters in this video, since it could easily change with another patch down the line. But we can definitely bring the discussion to my discord for which heroes are the stronger ones in the current meta.
In general, treat the heroes like rock, paper, scissors or like pokemon starter trinity: Burst beats sustain, sustain beats poke, poke beats burst This is a general rule of thumb but the nuances will be yours to learn and adjust. Hope this helps!

@@samuraishinchan3388 Claude doesn't easily win the trade 1v1 vs another mm and his ult did get nerfed hard but what makes him meta is his mobility. I play a lot of Claude recently so I might be biased but if you have good map awareness you can rotate, help your teammates secure a kill, and be back in your lane like nothing happened. You can bait skills from enemies and teleport back to a safe position. Once he gets level 4 his ult deals decent damage in a 1v1 situation so if you play it right with positioning by luring out the enemy and even baiting their skills you can unleash a good amount of damage, slow them down, and secure the kill. They adjusted his ult by lowering the scaling of attack effects and increasing the base damage so it does more damage early game and ok damage late game. Even without his ult his basic attacks hurt. He can shred a tanks hp in less than 2 secs with a few basic attacks and teleport back before the tank has a chance to retaliate. Karrie does a better job at shredding tanks obviously but she's right in your face and can be picked off if the enemies play it smart. I just like to play Claude these days and honestly I'm just as surprised as you are that he's still meta but I'm just trying to provide a perspective here. Hope that helps
My guy pretty much summed it up. Claude can still shred despite the nerfs, plus his mobility is unmatched when it comes to Gold Laners. A good Claude is infinitely scarier than any other MMs I have faced, other than a well protected Layla/Ixia/Karrie.

Personally i don't care what enemy's are picking even if it's the primary counter of layla and Hannabi i would still pick them either of them. since I've been playing for several years especially with layla and hannabi i used them most of time I'm quite sure about my experiences to deal with tough heroes including the primary counter of my favorite ones.
Gold lane role is the worst role for me cause they always target me and even if I got a maniac I still cant carry the game cause the other players are either feeding or afk😢
Yeah, it's tough in higher ranks because enemies are smart enough to prio target you and take you out. Not an easy role for sure, when your team is unreliable
Funny scenario this one when playing moya i use inspire and stun(middle skill) to stun them play squishy and then burst them down with inspire when they think they got me and other times if i got level two i can just burst them down with 1+2+inspire, Im correct you there if you know how to play lesley you can get from first turrent to second tureent in 4m 37seconds before having to rotate while dealing with jungler and two opponents without help tho this is probably cause their team wasnt payong attention but i still did it and then went to be mvp when teaming in late, When in a bush if you know your side near tureent is safe then you know no enemy at tureent then you can check if they are in bush by being in a spot they can see you and then go into the safe bush and if you go invisible immediately then no enemy saw you but if its delayed then enemy saw you and should be cautious.

claude is too hard to play for solo q. It's not in meta. He's a situational pick. He's too weak early game, so in solo q it would be hell for him.

What baffles me is that, how can people know that _this_ hero counters _that_ hero? Like, yes, we can factor in the range of the Marksman and their damage. But, what are the other factors in deciding who counters who?

(I don't get the Marksman role that often, so having the knowledge now and when I get to land the role would be very helpful)
"Counters" change with updates tho. More damage can easily tip the scales in the favour of another hero and possibly become a "counter". Most of the counters MM vs MM are just soft counters, since they don't really hard counter each other, like Lolita vs Chang'e or Phoveus vs dash heroes. So I didn't really cover counters in this video, since it could easily change with another patch down the line. But we can definitely bring the discussion to my discord for which heroes are the stronger ones in the current meta.
In general, treat the heroes like rock, paper, scissors or like pokemon starter trinity:
Burst beats sustain,
sustain beats poke,
poke beats burst
This is a general rule of thumb but the nuances will be yours to learn and adjust. Hope this helps!

Yup, as mentioned usually Junglers wants to gank around 1-2mins. Some may gank earlier than lvl 4, such as Julian

@@samuraishinchan3388 Claude doesn't easily win the trade 1v1 vs another mm and his ult did get nerfed hard but what makes him meta is his mobility. I play a lot of Claude recently so I might be biased but if you have good map awareness you can rotate, help your teammates secure a kill, and be back in your lane like nothing happened. You can bait skills from enemies and teleport back to a safe position. Once he gets level 4 his ult deals decent damage in a 1v1 situation so if you play it right with positioning by luring out the enemy and even baiting their skills you can unleash a good amount of damage, slow them down, and secure the kill. They adjusted his ult by lowering the scaling of attack effects and increasing the base damage so it does more damage early game and ok damage late game. Even without his ult his basic attacks hurt. He can shred a tanks hp in less than 2 secs with a few basic attacks and teleport back before the tank has a chance to retaliate. Karrie does a better job at shredding tanks obviously but she's right in your face and can be picked off if the enemies play it smart. I just like to play Claude these days and honestly I'm just as surprised as you are that he's still meta but I'm just trying to provide a perspective here. Hope that helps

My guy pretty much summed it up. Claude can still shred despite the nerfs, plus his mobility is unmatched when it comes to Gold Laners. A good Claude is infinitely scarier than any other MMs I have faced, other than a well protected Layla/Ixia/Karrie.

Firstly. U need to have a good ping and good device
Second .if enemy tank is babysttings your lane there’s 80 percent chances of your team securing the turtle so just don’t panic and focus on your farming
Lastly .skins matters
Using expensive and limited epic skins make a player confidence

Personally i don't care what enemy's are picking even if it's the primary counter of layla and Hannabi i would still pick them either of them. since I've been playing for several years especially with layla and hannabi i used them most of time I'm quite sure about my experiences to deal with tough heroes including the primary counter of my favorite ones.
I can play every lane but this scares me. The gold lane.
Gold lane role is the worst role for me cause they always target me and even if I got a maniac I still cant carry the game cause the other players are either feeding or afk😢
Yeah, it's tough in higher ranks because enemies are smart enough to prio target you and take you out. Not an easy role for sure, when your team is unreliable

Im correct you there if you know how to play lesley you can get from first turrent to second tureent in 4m 37seconds before having to rotate while dealing with jungler and two opponents without help tho this is probably cause their team wasnt payong attention but i still did it and then went to be mvp when teaming in late,
When in a bush if you know your side near tureent is safe then you know no enemy at tureent then you can check if they are in bush by being in a spot they can see you and then go into the safe bush and if you go invisible immediately then no enemy saw you but if its delayed then enemy saw you and should be cautious.
