I saw someone fill the pot a third of the way with leca, put it in the "vessel" and filled it a third of a way. They then marked the inside of the "vessel" where it was a third of the way full so it was easy to know where to stop next time.

i keep a thai constellation monstera in leca and he is doing very well :) if your roots were rotting a lot you might want to start with a much lower water level than 1/3. that is good once the plant has a couple roots hunting down into the pot for water but i’d be concerned about sitting the older roots in too much moisture. just my two cents!

My Thai is thriving in Leca! I got it bare root so it was a lot easier to transfer over to Leca. I waited until I saw water roots before adding any nutrients to it. The majority of my plants are growing in Leca except for the few big plants that I am scared to transfer over 😅

Great start for transferring that beauty to leca I have Albo monstera in leca and it’s doing great. You should get the Flora series that come in a pack on amazon for around 45$ but they last forever! Flora grow flora micro and flora bloom. Add that in with the SUPERthrive and your Thai constellation should love it!

Great video! The nice thing about Leca is you can unpot it easily to check root growth without doing any harm to fresh new roots.
The only thing I would have done differently would be to let roots callus some, especially that fresh cut. And I honestly would only put enough water in your cache pot to just touch the Leca. Which really sucks because you have to keep a close eye on it so that it doesn't dry out completely. The Leca will absorb the water and be damp which is all you need, especially at first with your existing roots. They should not be in the water or you are basically water propagating.
Hope this helps you and your able to save this beauty!
I will message you pictures on IG of my two Thais in Leca. One has absolutely exploded with root growth. Like clear down in the nutrient water lol
I am a firm believer in Leca for these plants as they are so very prone to root rot.
Good luck and please keep us posted!

Such a beautiful plant, I hope it'll finally grow well for you! :-)
Just a little info: Getting your water to the right PH is actually kinda of important, because tap water is often pretty alkaline (depending on where you live, you can usually google that) and different nutrients might not be taken up by the plant. So even when you fertilize, the plant might not be able to uptake the nutrients and micronutrients it needs. This is a general thing, not just for expanded clay of course. It was a game changer for me in how my plants grow.
If you're interested you can google "PH and nutrient uptake charts". Also, while it might be okay in the beginning of a plant’s life, it's very important to fertilize your plants. While soil often comes ’fertilized‘ and holds on to nutrients, lecca comes free of nutrients and the clay pebbles don't hold on to them and while Superthrive might be great it is not a fertilizer.
All the best for you and your baby Thai! :-)

I’m really rooting (yay puns) for this plant. I think it’s gonna be good. It’s still looking great on top, standing tall and proud. I hear really good things about noot maybe give that a try for the vitamin boost. I was asking a botanists friend about soil amendments and he said that we all need to add or subtract the different ingredients depending on our climates. I love Kailey don’t get me wrong at all, but we all can’t use her suggested aroid mix to the letter. We have to add and subtract the % of coir or peat moss depending on our normal relative humidity and even weather. If it rains more where you live plants will stay wetter longer. Then factor in the pot it’s in and all that like plastic. We’re all still learning and mistakes happen. I hear they are really forgiving plants and can take a punch so hopefully this will be it and he’s gonna thrive 💚

Some LECA brands are very high in mineral content and could burn your plants. When I use them, I soak them 24 hours and change water over a week (7 times) at least. I use TDS meter and make sure that the meter reads low on ppm. But that’s for orchids... maybe regular indoor plants might be ok.
