I literally only stumbled across Fred in the last few weeks and it's blowing my mind seeing how much thought and introspection he has for the music and his way of creative thinking. Fascinating and inspiring!
I loved when Fred talked about making music in a club using headphones with noise cancellation and then shutting everything out yet being able to observe everything so beautifully. I did this at a festival I attended a few weeks ago. I was honestly not having the best night. I was trying to find my friends in a different camp but being too drunk and tired I ultimately just gave up and thought to myself I had to head home for the night and come back tomorrow. So for the first time ever during a festival I put on my headphones, pumped the volume all the way up, and put on Delilah (pull me out of this). Ironically that was probably the moment I remember the most from that 7-day festival. I felt like I became one with the music and my whole body just wanted to move. Walking through that festival alone and observing my surroundings while listening to Fred was just so incredibly beautiful - like I felt like I was in a movie. Thank you Fred for blessing us with your art
No words can accurately describe the love I have for this man, his mind and music. Nothing has provoked such a variety of emotions in me as Fred’s music and energy has. The best part about it all is that I don’t think he even realises how good he is and why he is so loved, he’s just doing what he enjoys. 💙

Fred is pure and the environment he creates exudes nothing but that: Purity and ecstatic connection. He's given us hope and a galvanizing sonic community during such a time of reckoning, personally and collectively. Weirdly enough, last night I had a dream I hung out with him. He sat me down and played some of his new music and asked what I thought. I woke up aching that it wasn't "actual life". Glad I have this video to pretend I'm Zane Lowe to haha See you guys at Fred's next NYC party!

What he described from the 6 minute mark is what I've been doing with playlists for the past 12 years! I describe it as capturing the "in-between moments" and personifying them through music.
I listened to Actual Life today for the first time. The intro I was hooked then, Kyle (I Found You), came on. I was flooded with so many memories and then found myself thinking of my current friend group. I am so grateful for them and for the life I have. I was getting ready for my stream and listening to this song on repeat. I then decided to play those two tracks on my intro and then had everyone asking "WHAT IS THIS!!" I went on camera and finished out the track. I began to talk about the feelings and things in my head and could not hold back the emotion. Today Fred Again made me feel something I haven't felt in a long time. I learned something today. I found you. I thank you.
been obsessed with music since forever, have used it as a mental lifeline as much as a career path, and I've never come across works that have moved me as much as Fred again's have.. truly life changing for me
I feel like music is supposed to give you a ride to somewhere, building up your view of that place, letting you know it properly until you leave it to rejoin it again someday. There are places you like to place more than others, obviously. Fred makes such a good environment that I keep on getting in it over and over again. Thanks for that.
Zane, it is a true gift for you to have captured something so special through this interview. The way you both interacted through conversation on the couch is something I search for everyday. It wasn’t only an interview. It wasn’t hard to see the emotions bouncing off the walls through every next question you presented. More than conversation, what you were able to put into just 1 hour of time has me deep in thought and inspired…almost as much as when I listen to the newest drop from Fred. 😂 the way you and Fred interact makes me desire so much to share that kind of interaction but I know those times are to come in my own life. Thank you for creating this piece of art, I’m sure I will be viewing it over and over again!
Fred Again.. is in a class of his own. If you ever get a chance to see him live, don't hesitate. My god, his sets are an emotional roller coaster. I saw him at Coachella and then back here in Chicago at Lolla. You know an artist is unique when they can bring out the tears and dancing at the same time. And I hope he gets royalties from Native Instruments. I ended up buying a Maschine Plus. I know he kind of moved to the AKAI, but both are so much fun!
The way he describes his approach, trying to capture those fleeting special moments and stretch them out for as long as possible is so accurate. The inexplicable feeling you get when you hear his music is so rare yet happens every time I play it. Beautiful, special talent.
I am so grateful to have found this. Fred again is not only a genius but an incredible human💕 Hadn't finished the interview yet and the interview he played at the end got me...wow!!! ❤

He's spot on about LA. A lot of America is like that. There's no sense of community because none of this country is designed for being around people. It's designed for individuals to do what they need to do and go home. In cars. It's anxiety inducing and stressful and disconnects you from people and creativity I think.

One of the most inspiring talks I've ever heard. I now realise why Fred has resonated with me ever since I first started picking up his songs and performances... thank you for being such an inspiration and thank you Zane for creating such an intimate atmosphere.
fred is what it means to immortalize a person, place, and thing into the sound of music. incredible soul.
This guy man.
So unique. So talented. I’ve never felt emotion the way I do when I hear his music
One of the best interviews I have watched to-date. Felt like I was in the room with them. The conversation beautifully flows and I feel that sense of connection, and for once I totally understand the emotions from other side of the screen. Grateful to be living in a time as Fred, to not just know his music but to also know his character and his love for the craft. To know tiny details of his life has definitely been a life changing experience for me. He inspires me to love what I do without being hard on myself but to only enjoy and grow.
Fred is a breath of fresh air in modern music 🙌🙏
Every part of this was beautiful and reminds me why I love music so much.
Thank god we have you both.
That Stephen Colbert speech at the end with the Brian Eno drones in the background was utterly mesmerizing.
do you know where to find the one he's playing? can't find this only whole speech without this music
@@eofvib3 I am also looking, and can't find it on TH-cam. Maybe it was a TikTok? Please let me know if you find it.
@@eofvib3 I'm late to the question, but I recognised the other voice was Anderson Cooper and found it by searching "Stephen Colbert Anderson Cooper Suffering"
I love this interview! I genuinely feel so connected to his music and what he expresses. Fred Again's music hits me deeply, It's like he's speaking right to your soul through the speakers, making his music more than just a sound - it's an experience. What an amazing artist, I'm so glad I get to live his development and upcoming tracks!!!
We are immeasurably grateful for you. I can't possibly put in to words how much your music has helped me, life's been tough recently, it's helped lift my spirits.
When zane says that in a strange way rappers or singers are manifesting there reality through song, it’s because they are seeing and feeling what they are channeling at that moment and in that moment there hearts are open and their energy field is open to receive so that’s a message sent out into the universe amplified with emotion and speech 🙏🏼 beautiful
Actual Life 1 literally changed my life. There’s just something different about Fred’s music. Something we can’t quite explain but are all aware of
Met Fred on my 21st birthday a few days ago. Genuine guy, very kind, he wished me happy birthday when i met him and during the concert because i was front row. Cheers mate.
He’s so down to earth which is so refreshing for someone so talented to be. One of the worlds best producers
Fred Again has been one of my most fav artist this year. Please keep up the great work!
The speech played at 53:39 really moved me. Commenting for when I come back to this in the future.
That moment at 40:59 just created tingles right up my spine and now down my arms. It’s those moments where music can just stop all the talking/thoughts/ideas in your brain and you just become absorbed by music. Those are the moments I love the most.
I’ve never smiled so much watching two people talk. Thank you both.
Fred is my inspiration. His music guided me through my awakening and now I want to start doing something similar and help others express their emotions through music. I’m starting college to study psychology to get a deeper understanding about frequency’s and how they affect the human brain. This could be life changing for the EDM world. Thank you Fred ❤
The raw energy and soul defining music - a musical genius
Everytime I have a bad mood or something is off in my mind I open this video and play it from 36:55 and everything seems to be ok all of a sudden, thank you Fred you inspire me so much
46:00 when he talks about performing to a single friend who was at one of his shows, that got me. Beautiful. Beautiful.
moves me to tears this guy is so pure
I don't know Fred personally but he just radiates this beautiful energy. What a special human being.
The greatest. Grateful to have been on this journey and to witness this magic!! Love you Fred
Fred Again is such a fresh new breath of air..............shout from South Africa
Legit one of the best artists to come out in years. The relaxed power he transmits is heartblowing
What he described from the 6 minute mark is what I've been doing with playlists for the past 12 years! I describe it as capturing the "in-between moments" and personifying them through music.
Zane’s facial expression at 41:55 captures everything you need to know about this interview
This is the comment I was looking for! 💯
Fred again - Kyle (I found you)
I listened to Actual Life today for the first time.
Fred again is not only a genius but an incredible human💕
Hadn't finished the interview yet and the interview he played at the end got me...wow!!! ❤
He makes ZERO sense and COMPLETE sense at the same time! Legend!
that boiler room set is so beautiful.. the amazing songs and having the people so close + fred performing, i love it.. its love in a video, wish i was there.
Zane's face at 39:07 is a mixture of astonishment and euphoria and shock
Zane is my favorite music interviewer ever, from like the dawn of media up through today. He understands art and people on a level that matches the artists he interviews
Zane's facial expressions at 39:10 lol. yeah bro, that's how we all feel.
Need a full version of that dayum
tell me about it!!!! sounds like jungle drum and bass and it’s filthy face hard 🔥🔥
What a beautiful human being! Creating music thst spans generations and changing the face of dance music in a pure way.
protect this boy at all costs
That last moment with Colbert in the background, speaks to such a universally, terribly wondrous part of all of this. Stoked to see that bleed into more of Fred’s work.
58 mins of being speechless, having goosebumps and feeling inspired. Thanks Fred and Zane! LOVE! ❤️💙🙏🏼
Thank god you've come to the party & can display your amazing talent, you are rare & people like you only come around once in a lifetime
Didn’t want the creative process part to end. The story telling and music is incredible
Man, I got introduced to his music because of hid bolier room set! IT CHANGED the way I view music!! IT is so unique and lively......fell in love with his music immediatly!!!
He's spot on about LA. A lot of America is like that. There's no sense of community because none of this country is designed for being around people. It's designed for individuals to do what they need to do and go home. In cars. It's anxiety inducing and stressful and disconnects you from people and creativity I think.
Fred you are an absolute magician , touching and changing so many peoples lives . Such a beautiful man you are , thank you so so much for everything you do and I hope we get to meet you again .
We Bumped into you in Glasgow outside the Sub club 🥲🧡 will never forget that moment . Seen you perform 3 times now and will Again In Hamburg ! 🥰 your music is on another level and we listen to it nearly every day since we found you 🙏🏼
What a kind soul

Fred took me to one of the worst months of my life. I thank him for all he's done and I hope I will sometime in the future him live!
