I've been emotionally numb since around 2013 - 2014 and it got really really bad ever since 2016 roughly to the point where I almost don't feel anything at all. It feels like it will never go away, it was already really bad. I have sought medical attention too, and recently seeing a doctor that is slightly more qualified.
I just don't know how to get back to how i used to
It started in 2014 from feeling depressed at school, like everything was grey, fear of being attacked, stressed with homework ect, then. it got even worse with consistent fights at home that were very traumatic, extreme violence where at one point my entire family had to sleep in the same room so no one would get hurt and worried about people coming over an starting fights at 3am
I was always in constant terror and sometimes woke up throwing my arms around
I just want my emotions back, i cant keep going on feeling like this

    • @Lighttowards
      @Lighttowards 2 ปีที่แล้ว +21

Me as a little kid, I was so bright and do over going and so nice to everyone and the best part was that I was filled with emotions. As I grew up and started to see things that I shouldn't see, made me totally numb. Like when people be like, "OMG look it's so beautiful". I'd just be like, "Yeah". People often thought I was boring to be around with. My numbness has come to a point that I can't cry or feel any kinds of feelings even if I want too.
The feels have been stored in me and just makes me terrible everyday. I don't really know how am I going to get through this.
Once I mentioned to my parents that I needed medication. They laughed at me.
So I Just wanted to let you know that. Despite all these pain and sufferings, I know I'll get through this. I know that everything will be airtight soon. So don't lose hope and keep going no matter what. You'll make it. You'll feel again sooner. Have that positive attitude. We'll make it. Your not alone.

Hi friends , hope you are well! . I am Raman and 1 among you who had undergone emotional numbness for about 1 and half year . I am completly fine now. it took me around 8 months frankly speaking to feel again. i have worked harder and harder to during these 7 to 8 months actually to feel my emotions . I had done tons of research to finally come to conclusion that we can again be emotionaly sensitive with some activity , diet , supplements.
      1) We have to heal our limbic system of brain , specially cingulare gyrus ( responsible for empathy and compassion) if it is under active it causes various mental and personality disorders like
      a) Anhedonia b) schizoid personality disorder , c) autism , d) borderline personality e) avoidance personality and so on
      2) work on increasing neurotransmitter (love chemical) OXYTOCIN
      3) Work on increasing neurotransmitter ( Dopamine , Serotonin and Norepinepharine) resonbile for our craving for socialization and hating isolation
      4) 4 to 5 CBT therapy ( only for people with PTSD ) works on subconcious mind
      5) Exercise (any) , Yoga (limbic system ), meditation (metta and normal ),
      6) Diet Which i will explain
      7)supplements which i will explain
      8) Safely tapper off antidepressants specially SSRI ( this increased my Emotional blunting and ED) i will guide you on this.
If u want my guidance contact me at ramankarora1990@gmail.com
Thats it . it seems difficult but its very easy!
      Consultancy charge 5 USD only
I have put alot of time and money to gather this information and read lots of books on science of neurology , psychology, homeopathy, Ayurveda, accupressure science for various mental disorders and mirror neurons .
What inspired me? i also suffered from Emotional numbness , prefered isolation, so i felt out of love with my girl friend without any reason and didnot enjoy her company anymore despite she was same loving , caring , loyal, was unable to love and like my family either. So i can feel pain of other people as well. Luckily i am just like a normal guy and and no more emotionaly numb!

    My numbness is that,
I just scared that I want to smile, but my smile might be turning fake,
I want to be sad, but I don't know how to be "sad"
I want to cry, but I cannot cry because I can't cry
I want to be happy, but I don't know what happy is or how happy feel
I want to be angry, but I'm too tired to be angry

    "being concious to those emotions"
like compassion.. for ur own self as well.. is one of the purest gift to u from the ultimate god.
& it is very specifically given to u..(ie specific for every human)
so u always hv this one responsibility to make urself devoted for this gift..
it is that gift.., if u give it ur love, showed ur affection then it will help u recover frm all kind of hardship.. but if u ignore it then even u r hving all luxury u will feel like loosing the battle anytime.
if u love it n nurture it then in happy n victorious time it will guide u the proper way to behave and enjoy the happiness..
god forbid but during the time of grief
it will give u a warm company.
yes it is your own conciousness which is ur best buddy.. be grateful to be able to understand the value of it..
just knowing this won't stop ur numbness forever but u will have to practice love and affection to ur conciousness as a devine gift of god.
but how can someone be affectionate to their own conciousness..
u can meditate and try to recall what u did to make urself happy
if not any then what can be done right now.. which may give u fuel to understand and get in sync with ur conciousness..
u may try making a healthy meal for urself as well as someone in need., start learning something which u wanted to.
it may seem silly to understand what is stated here.. but give it a try to search from within.

My psychiatrist who is famous in the mid-west answered a question with total honesty when I asked if chronic PTSD will ever go away and will I ever feel anything other than fear and anger and he told NO. The best I could hope for is controlling the symptoms like depression, anxiety and sleep disorders. PTSD is a shit storm I do wish upon anyone and I wish I could feel something in my life. If your doctor says different then he is lying to prevent suicide.

I got emotional numbness from SSRIs and I am 7 months off them it hasn't went away. I never had this before the drugs. I never had depression either, I took it for panic and anxiety. In fact its getting worse. It also comes at the same time as sexual numbness. When I feel this emotional numbness and void my sexual process is also numb (although it still works). It is always here just sometimes is less numb but it is never like before. I can't even enjoy music. Explain this please.... to me it seems like SSRIs have damaged me permanently.

Never trusted medication due to being poor and unsure but I'm getting more worried as I use to suffer mental breakdown on weekly basis in my youth. Now as I'm a young adult I no longer suffer them but got this black void in me, the first day of having it felt so fucking awful I hated every second of it I would trade every empty feeling for my worst days of hating myself and crying if it meant to feel again like I'm real.
I'm worried because I don't know what will make me happy, I know what can make me feel something but every bit of my feelings are flipped upside down. I laugh uncomfortably when my mother cried in front of me and felt euphoric joy when I got beyond angry. I'm worried I'll get the wrong signal and I may breakdown more and not know where it'll take me cause it's gotten worse over the years.

I have had anxiety for like 5-6 years and it caused me to get a stomach condition. I had to take Amitriptyline with some other things to get it under control. I was on Amitriptyline for 5 years until a few weeks ago. I don't know when this numbness started to be honest. I feel like it's happened slowly because it's worse than it used to be. I stopped taking Amitriptyline because I thought this numbness would go away but it hasn't. I've been off of it for a few weeks now and I feel the same. I also just got into a relationship recently and I'm scared that If I don't do something about this it won't last. I just feel absolutely nothing sometimes. Even when my girlfriend is sad or says she loves me it just doesn't affect the way I feel at all. I love her and I don't want to lose her but i don't know what to do. I have no motivation to do anything anymore. I'm 19 and I should be going to college and getting a job and looking toward the future and my career but I just don't care. I feel like I could win the lottery right now and I wouldn't even care. Maybe I'd care a little but not as much as I should. I don't think I'm depressed or anything. I felt depressed and really anxious for the first couple of weeks off of Amitriptyline which i was happy with because i was finally feeling something besides just being numb, but it's gone away. Idk why I'm writing this shit in a TH-cam comment but i don't have anyone else to tell. I feel like I have a lot of emotion bottled up inside of me and I want to let it all out but I can't, i don't know how. I wish I could feel something and just cry but I can't. I don't even know what is bottled up, I don't have any trauma or anything. I think it's just a giant ball of anxiety from many different things, all of my doubts and worries. I want to let it out but i can't. It doesn't matter what I do, i feel nothing most of the time. I feel a little happy looking at memes or playing games with friends but not as happy or enthusiastic as I should and it goes away once I'm done. I literally feel dead inside
