Not even having the Porsche System Exhaust, but when the exhaust is hot, it gives a descent sound tho ! nice !

This porsche is very Fast enough.
if you have sport chrono and sport plus option, it can 0-100 in only 5.9~6.5 second. It’s amazing.

Btw, how is fuel economy? I’ve read that these are absolutely horrible because the engine is simply too small and underpowered for all that weight.
It is surprisingly fast considering its weight, big wheels and aerodynamics! Can't believe 252 HP makes this car go from 0-100 in only 6-7 secs, which is about as fast as Audi/BMW saloon with 2.0 Turbo engine. The Lexus SUV like RX300 that has 238 HP is much slower than this one.
RX300 is bigger and heavier. And it’s not meant to be sporty. Silly comparison.
The X3 30i XDrive is slightly faster at 6.3 seconds for the run from 0-100kmph !
Paying 60k+ for a car that doesnt go 0-60 in 5 seconds. How pathetic. If you buy this trim you’re only buying it to look like you’re fast

thank god for the digital speedo. The analogue speedo would be a pain the ass on our roads, especially with all our speed cameras etc. Hard to see your exact speed

ive got the 2021 macan with the sport exhausts (just the exhausts not the exhaust system) and its slightly better than this.

Pretty impressive for a 4 pot
Good to know I basically have the same engine in my 2010 GTI and it's 1,000 lbs lighter. This "VW EA888" in the Macan can probably be tuned to about 360 hp with just an ECU tune. My older EA888 is tuned to have about 265 hp/ 320 lbs/ft with just an ECU tune. Newer EA888's have a different turbo and a bigger fuel pump than mine, otherwise it's pretty much the same. It's a fantastic and highly refined motor for a 4 cylinder. SO MUCH TORQUE. EA888 Is a bit small for a heavy SUV though.

However the PDK transmission plays a big role here on the Macan.

Im interested to know what the real 0-100 time would be without reving it to 4k rpm to launch it. Most people dont rev it to 4k when accelerating. Although 6.2 is impressive from a 2L SUV even if you have to rev it to 4K to get it.

Yeah, they need launch control, without that these downsized engines are nowhere. I drove a GLC63 AMG and without launch control it was fuckin' slow from standstill..
If the Macan had a slow autobox or a manual the 0-60 would prob be closer to 7s as you have to go through 2 shifts to get it.

I think it will be around 6.1, this macan in the video is doing 4k rpm launch control, SC package gives the ability to do 5K rpm launch control. Besides I assume Austrilia is winter now, My macan did 7.0 in summer...

Philipp Austermeier pretty sure all Porsche products apart from the 718, 911, and specialty cars use VAG engines or variations thereof.
Porsche 356, 550 Spyder, the 1957 718, 904, 912, 914, 924, 944, 968 and even the 919 hybrid Le Mans racer had 4 cylinder engines. Engines sizes ranging from 1.1 litres to 2.5 litres. Many were VW / Audi sourced too. The very first Porsche - the type 64 had a 1 litre flat 4 engine, so it’s safe to say small 4 cylinder engines are in Porsche DNA. The latest 718 Cayman and Boxster use 2 litre flat fours too although they are Porsche units
@@christophercurson8299 I have a different opinion. Just because something was part of Porsche before it doesn't mean it's good. To me Porsche is high reving flat 6. If their products and philosophy gets diluted by sales figures and emission changes too much they will eventually become Toyota. Is that what you want?
Good that you have your own opinion, everyone is entitled to their own. What I stated is based on the pure fact and history of Porsche who have clearly been happy to use many different 4cylinder engines way before emissions were even a talking point. Porsche will never beToyota I’m sure everyone knows that in reality...they will always be Porsche regardless of the direction they take

That’s the first time I’ve seen a Macan actually hit the acceleration... in the UK. Literally all Porsche owners (Especially Macan’s) drive like grannies on wheelchairs
They old macan s is a v6 Porsche engine.

Without launch, 7+ seconds.
Depending on weather, I tested my macan, 6.9 for summer and 6.3 for winter with LC, 0.2s added if without LC

This macan doesn’t have the LC control.

I also do and the reason is that the car is hesitating before shifts as well as shifting early. Going into Manual mode should fix the issue.
T Nadolsky This is exactly right. The geat shift logic is different from the Golf R MK7.5.
I think it keeps the rev high to mitigate the turbo lag.
