The game's soundtrack is not talked about enough. It amplifies the sense of dread and disconnect and it is appropriately divided into 3 sections: Fear Madness Loss Fear builds your anticipation and anxiety from having to decide the fate of billions. Madness starts off with a faint ping, indicating the first launches, combined with a song historically used at funerals. It slowly fades into sporadically audible notes, mimicking the loss of words and sense of hopelessness as the nukes fly. Loss's sorrowful tone helps paint images of irradiated earth, void of life and unrecognizable ruins.
I do believe that you've got potential. The problem is that even though I don't know you, I know that this is not you. Try steering off from what Dunkey does, be yourself, don't force the humor and "the memes" and you'll be alright.
You have a very good point. Honestly, I feel like if he doesn’t force the personality we’ll see even better content than the ones he already posts now.
Anyone who likes the vibe this game has ought to give Plague Inc a try. That one's a single player game where you play as a pathogen. Your goal is to infect every human on Earth and kill them. You start out weak, but as you spread more and more you evolve. You need to make decisions on what symptoms/conditions you cause. (Sneezing isn't dangerous but helps spread you. Heart arrhythmias are dangerous but do nothing to spread you. Mass organ failure is fatal and awesome but be careful because if you aren't infectious enough/haven't infected enough people for exponential growth, you'll kill your hosts before you can spread. It's a rather difficult game at times.) To help keep you oriented as a player, you're constantly fed the news. The world starts out completely unaware of you. As you spread, you are soon discovered as a new undocumented pathogen. Immediately, someone starts working on a cure. You're not really that deadly yet so it's not very well funded. But as this spread to more, and the seriousness of the pathogen becomes known, scientists start urging governments to act, and eventually they do, locking down borders, dispensing masks, the works. Eventually it becomes clear that this might be an end-of-world scenario. Governments are dumping absolutely everything they can into medical research. They can't bury the dead anymore, they have to do mass cremations. Nevertheless, the cure is being worked on avidly. But things start going crazy, supplies gets short for people in quarantines, riots break out, now we're at like 50% of the population dead, and governments have universally lifted all ethical practice legalities. It doesn't matter. Nothing matters. Nothing except the cure. And progress is being made, but it's not enough. Countries begin to collapse, funding stops as the concept of currency loses meaning, research grinds to a halt, in the last days, it's every man for themselves, literally everyone is sick, dying in ditches. And that is how humanity ends. You win! It's a fucking awesome game.
The sound track for this game is prefect for the game content. A Woman sobs, another coughs, footsteps walking down a hall. Constantly with that low hum like you are in a bunker safe from the carnage. The nerve-wracking WANK! when the DECON level goes up, then more in rapid succession as the missiles are flying, the low concussive booms in the background. In the end the final score. Game over. I love this game.
This scenario can and will happen. Everyone thinks that no sane human would let it happen, but sane humans let a lot of things happen. The Khwarezmian Empire was the largest Islamic empire of its day, and the Mongols razed it all to the ground, killing about 1/3 of its population. Germany suffered a similar casualty rate during the Thirty-Years War.

I love the foot steps walking down a marble hall, right out of Dogs of War by Pink Floyd.

I played my first game of DEFCON today and as I watched my nukes fly to the enemy cities I was literally like "What have I done..."
Bidenm Putin and Jinping won't be thinking that. They;ll be thinking there can be only one super power to emerge, no matter what the costs.
Nah mate, you just have to stop worrying and love the bomb.
🤠
It is worst than zero sum. It is negative sum. Evermore escalation is incentivised.
