  • How I did this (patch notes... in order of appearance):
Intro pad: A recording of my Fender Rhodes being granulized in the QuBit Nebulae 2.
Melody: Noise Engineering Ataraxic Iteritas being sequenced by the MakeNoise Rene through the Cwejman MMF1S filter as both a filter and VCA, and lastly through the MakeNoise Echophon delay.
Hi Hat: Noise Engineering Manis Iteritas to the Alright Devices Chronoblob delay into The Harvestman Bionic Lester in band pass mode. There is also a sample and hold modulation coming from the MakeNoise Wogglebug being patched into the pitch input to give each hit some variation.
Glitchy Hat: The Harvestman Hertz Donut into The Harvestman Bionic Lester in high pass mode. The jittery rhythm is created by a 2HP Brst whose rate is being modulated by an LFO out of the MakeNoise DPO which is gating the VCA (L1 Quad VCA Mixer) directly.
Bass: Cwejman VCO2RM (dual saws, slightly detuned) into the Dwarfcraft Great Destroyer (distortion all the way up), followed by the Mutable Instruments Shelves EQ (taking out low mids and adding highs) into the Mutable Instruments Ripples low pass filter, being sequenced by "?????"
Snare: Noise Engineering Mattis Iteritas (custom Manis Iteritas) being sequenced by the MakeNoise Tempi and gated harder through the L1 VCA to shorten the attack a bit via a MakeNoise Maths Envelope.
Kick: Noise Engineering Basimilus Iteritas Alter in "liquid mode" with an additional MakeNoise Maths envelope going into the pitch input to make the attack slightly snappier. Sequenced by "?????"
    ******
The Noise Engineering Ateraxic Iteritas is out today and has been one of my favorite modules I've been using since they first gave me a beta version of it to use. This is a little jam session I recorded that was inspired by a melody I wrote using it. This was recorded completely live, no edits or overdubs. Embrace the mistakes.

Good to see some actual musicality with those "extreme" modules... Convinced me to buy one. Beautiful sequences too.

Well done, Matt! I love this side of your music a lot. The ambience of this song is incredible and those drums are perfect. Your modular work is definitely evolving.

Are you the same Matt Lange that produced the song "Way you know" with Ajunadeep, sung by Tanya Zygar? I love that. So atmospheric & haunting. The A I module is one noise eng module I'm interested in along with cursus iteritas percido, numeric rep, & poss clep diaz. Currently only have the loquelic Iteritas by them. Nice sounds and work btw.
