    We always consider GSC a sea day-- every winter sailing we have taken there has tender issues. We just plan to not get off. Wish they would invest in a pier. You all had great attitudes though and definitely give a realistic and positive perspective!

      @georgesullivan6639 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed, I don’t understand why they don’t have a pier built! Only time I was ever scheduled to go to GSC is was canceled due to rough seas. Very disappointing, but they did refund a portion of the cruise fare so that was nice.

      We typically don’t purchase a drink package, no. With Norwegian, it’s basically built in and you only have to pay the gratuities, so we kept that one, hah. But I’d say 95% of the time, we don’t have a drink package. :P

Will they also list Norwegian later this Spring/Summer? They sure are not the friendliest group to try to converse with.

    • @parodeejay
      @parodeejay  ปีที่แล้ว

      They recently changed to only service Mardi Gras, Wonder Of The Seas, and Disney Wish due to possible logistical struggles, but since then they've narrowed that down to one ship, which is Mardi Gras. I don't believe they'll be adding any other ships to the roster in the near future, sadly... unless you're flying in, then they service a lot more ships. For parking, it's just Mardi Gras for the foreseeable future!!

    • @parodeejay

      They always offer accessible tender options, but depending on what level you sit on, you might have 10-12 or so steps on the tender vessel to get from deck to deck.

    I'm thinking the tender nightmare was because yours was the Escape's first sailing since the shutdown, so you were all guinea pigs. My sailing just two weeks later was totally different: we were masked during the tender process & packed in like sardines, like normal. For tendering, it was pretty standard. Please don't think this experience is how NCL always does it. 👍🏻I'm sure your patience was much appreciated!! Rock on! 🤘

      Now that we’ve reached the highest loyalty level with Carnival, we’ve enjoyed branching out to other cruise lines. We’ve done seven Carnival cruises in the past six months, so about 50% Carnival for the year, which I didn’t think was too bad!! :P

    My one and only Norwegian cruise, ironically on the Escape, was a tender nightmare. On two separate occasions passengers were put in the lifeboats through a long, very slow process. We sat off dock in Cozumel in sweltering heat in these little ovens waiting to disembark for 45 minutes. The heat was so intense people were screaming at the staff to open the doors so we could cool off. No one seemed to know how to navigate the vessels and there were no apologies for the awful experience. Passengers were never informed prior to cruising about two ports that required tendering. They need to get their act together.

    • @donwooden6358
      @donwooden6358 ปีที่แล้ว

      What are the two ports? Cozumel actually has docks, unless there are too many ships in town for the day. Are you referring to Cozumel and Harvest Caye?

    • @johnnolan5579
      @johnnolan5579 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@donwooden6358 Yes. Too many ships were in the harbor including one very large RCL ship. We couldn't get off our tenders because there were too many people crowded on the dock from the RCL ship. I also think a dock had been damaged by another cruise ship and was under repair, but Norwegian never informed us that there would be any tenders. I don't know what the issue was at Harvest Caye.

    y'all...why are you so horridly biased to Carnival and Royal?...you took a Norwegian cruise with "who are those people"?? the most generic and boring of cruisers possible...and you let them dictate your cruise!?? it was hard to watch...Norwegian is THE best with regards to safety right now. They have the best perks to booking of any line and you gave them a half-shake at best. Stop. Give a full and fair review or don't do one. Also, you were WAY more critical of Norwegian on this cruise for issues that have happened many times on your other Carnival and Royal cruises...why? You want specific examples, 'm happy to oblige. It was shameful for a channel I admire as much as yours. Please don't repeat this type of biased content in the future.

      We had a great cruise overall and will definitely cruise NCL again. Our goal has always been to experience and simply show our vacation in an honest fashion, no matter what cruise line or ship we’re sailing. This cruise had the most bumps and issues we’ve ever experienced on a single cruise, and we obviously had to tell it like it is. We did make the choice to cut out one or two bumps because they were immediately resolved, but anything that was a lingering or blatant or unresolved communication error we felt had to stay in there. But we didn’t let any of it stand in the way of a good time. We’ll definitely be sailing NCL again in the future!!
