I wish they would make this as big as the Cessna 150 with a real hopper and spray booms. Then I can fill it with weed killer and spray weeds at my flying field.
Dude I just got the idea to make them fpv… then you could legit spray. But the fun in ag pilot is the flying.

As an aerial applicator I'm excited to have these in mainstream foam. The facts you have about the plane and what it does might be a little skewed. We spray at 150-180mph, flaps in the top of the corner, no rudder turn just a nice coordinated steep turn (even past 90), 1-2 million $ if that's "affordable".

Yes! Another UMX plane using this 3s 300 battery. Hope this becomes the new standard across the line, having so many I can fly with this same battery rocks.
Best thing about UMX airplanes is that one can fly them in a lot of small public parks. Larger electric airplanes generally require a formal RC model flying field. (The nearest one to me is 20 miles away.)

I had no idea your air tractor was expecting. Congrats on the new bundle of joy. My 1400mm Pitts had a pair of UMX pitts last year.. BEAUTIFUL identical twins! Also my night timber had a beautiful little UMX timber X ....now i need to find out who the father is so he can chip in on child support. Repair parts and new lipo batteries are not cheap for three little baby planes. I know you understand because your home is filled with little baby planes with no fathers. Lol.

thx for your reviews and you got me into rc - i bought the Aero Scout as my first but honestly it was too big and fast for me (i wrecked it) - then bought a eachine warbird which was the right call and i'm confident of orientation now - was thinking of the Air tractor or Timber X for my next step and am going with this, it looks stable with some more size and performance - ordered it through your link to H Hobby - you guys deserve any referral - and i'm very grateful to God for His goodness in my life - thanks ;)

Im flying the UMX TimberX. Its my 1st plane. So, its considerably heavier (with foam2foam and HD packing tape lol). I started with that 300mAh bat. But also started flying it with 800mAh 3s. And its awesome! In the air for 15-20 mins.

I was stationed at Ft Riley. Lived in junction city. When I was there we wanted the rain to stop. I was there during the flood. You could only see about the top 10 inches of my mobile home that I lived in. Hope your lunch changes out there.

I'm a retired Navy helo pilot, but when we moved back home to Kansas to take care of my aging parents a year and a half ago, one of my father's good friends needed someone to fly his newly acquired helicopters. That led to him asking me if I wanted to learn to crop dust for him. It's been a wild ride, but now there are five very different aircraft I get to fly up at KADT Atwood/Rawlins County Airport!
I got started in RC back in 2008 when I was one of three US Navy Sailors at Osan Air Force Base in South Korea. A wonderfully stocked and strategically located RC shop called USA Hobby was located right outside the front gate. I've been crashing and rebuilding RC helos and airplanes ever since! Real aircraft are so much easier to keep in one piece.

@@TheRcSaylors So. Much. Fun. It's intense, because the margin for error is so slim. But every spray pass in every flight is an abject lesson in humility. Crop dusting seems to have a knack for smashing humble pie in my face, that's for sure!

The tractor airframe is being developed /converted into a light ground support aircraft for ground troops and the special operations community....with a smorgasbord of weaponry options. That speaks volumes of this airframes capabilities
I'm with Abby...getting spiders OFF one's person is ALWAYS priority 1. Cool "little" plane. I think I would prefer the larger...and then dress it up as Dusty from Pixar Planes.
I'm guessing the electronics in this plane are the same as the UMX Turbo Timber Evolution. On my Timber, I have the timer set for 5 minutes for the 300 mAh 3S battery, and I have ample battery for a couple of extra go-arounds or to stay out of the way, in case someone needs to land ahead of me. I ran a 2S 900 mAh battery through the Timber, and after 5+ minutes of flight, I still had 75% of the battery remaining. I never thought I'd love the UMX planes so much, but I'm having a blast with them.

I'd like to know too. One difference for sure is that you can order now and get this Tractor within a week or two, who knows how long the wait will be for the reshipment of UMX EVOs?

Looks and flies just like my UMX Turbo Timber. I think it probably rolls a touch faster with the low-mounted wing.
It would be swell if they decided to make the fire boss version of the air tractor.

I maidened my new UMX Air Tractor yesterday. I must say I was completely unprepared for amazing this plane is. Yes, it will do nice slow passes and deliver excellent scale flight. But crank the throttle up and it will do unreal amazing things. It's crazy fast and nimble. I sat on this one for months and every time I went to buy one, I thought "What do I need a crop duster for?". I bought a Timber X to bridge the gap between trainer and more advanced flight skills. But it turns out that the Air Tractor makes the Timber X look like a flying pig. It is better on all levels except one. And that's an important one. The Timber X is very docile on takeoffs and landings. And a new pilot could fly one as a first plane. The Air Tractor is not. It says "For Intermediate Pilots" on the box. And in this case, they really mean it. It would not be a good first plane. Takeoffs can get out hand quickly as this plane cuts hard left if you apply too much power and needs a lot of rudder control. Landings also require a little skill as well as this plane likes a nice shallow glide slope, and a new pilot might have trouble bringing her down on a small strip. But if you have some flying skill and are looking for a plane that will get your adrenaline going, this is a good choice. I love this plane and it's been one of my best experiences with a new plane in quite some time.
What I would love to see is a comparison video between different UMX.. I have a Turbo Timber and it works great for me and the school area I can fly in... When a new airplane comes along I am curious if it lands as slowly, will it fly in the same area, etc... having a comparison video would be fantastic! Thanks... great video.

The bigger one is sort of limited in how you fly it. Low and slow is the only way to go. However this little one can fly like a sport plane, honestly. That climb and roll rate is so nice! 👍😁😎⚓️

How would you compare the flight characteristics to the Umx turbo timber evo?
Comapred to the big Evo, the UMX A.T. is far more responsive than the Evo using factory settings. It's definately a scale perception I'm sure, smaller equates to more nimble. I have the big TTE and the UMX AT, don't really think it's a fair comparison. I've had to do some mods to my TTE (ram air cooling) to be able to fly without overheating in the Texas heat while with my UMX AT seems to hold up fine on hot Texas days.

Quick question: which do you prefer, The F16 70mm thunderbirds, F-16 80mm Thunderbirds, or Futura 80mm. I’m looking for my second jet. I’ve practically mastered my Viper 70mm.

Hey, it seems these days as long as you’ve got about 1k subs or so, you can pretty easily get “free” stuff if that’s your thing. They didn’t bay an eye at us until well over 100k subs. Basically, make your channel “anti Horizon” and get their attention. Then, they’ll give you something free, and suddenly Horizon stuff is amazing! I’ve seen channels sell out over night, and no one seems to ever notice. It’s crazy! For me, I’m glad we’ve stuck to our guns. We’ve even showed Horizon planes literally exploding on our channel, which may burn bridges eventually. But our morals have always been more important. Hope this helps! Be careful who you are watching 😉🙃⚓️
Can a 3s 800 fit and get good flight performance? I have 3s800 already.
I doubt you can get the CG far enough back; if you can, the wing loading and stall speeds will be significantly higher.
Only thing about your video is they were not built cheap so they could afford to crop dust they are built very well they are built to be stable at very low speed and carry lots of wait just for your information
I thought initially most crop dusters were built pretty cheap, but maybe not this particular plane. 🤷♂️🙃⚓️

Great maiden, Nate! Although the Air Tractor was designed as a crop duster, it has also had a fair bit of success in the fire fighting field. It can be configured to drop either water or retardant, and it is also used as an air boss managing the planes aloft in a fire fighting campaign.

I recently went to charge my G1 batteries for my Areoscout, which which I also use for my Arrows 5 . And the charger said no battery detected all 3, Would you know why? Whenever the low battery alert goes off I paddle out and get the boat so I never completely drain the batteries to nothing.

Yea I just recently got one of these and spent a week watching all the videos on it and how to set it up and the transmitter as well. Even had a friend with experiance check it all out before my first flight. He flew it for about a minute then landed it. He said that everything was great and that it was flying really good. Then I took off and for about 45 seconds everything was good,... then it decided that it no longer wanted to accept input from my transmitter and just flew at about a 25 degree climb straight as an arrow at full throttle,... for forever apparently or at least untill the battery died and it crashed somewhere deep in the swamp located in the Ocala National Forrest out behind where I was flying. good thing there are no people living out there in that particular area. My friend didnt understand what went wrong because everything was working great but then just stopped accepting commands out of nowhere for no apparent reason. Its not going to stop me from flying though. Im going to get the Real Flight Evolution sim next week and do some more learning on that, then I am going to get an Aeroscout RTF so I dont have to spend a week trying to learn how to probram all the settings into my transmitter. Im definatly NOT ever going to buy another Air Tractor again however.

But those 3s 300mah batteries are a wonder. I have 8 of them and use them in the Pitts, Timber X and Voodoo. Definitely looking forward to some more exciting UMX planes to come out!

My first thought when I saw this model was "A crop duster? REALLY?!?! I see those all the time!". Then it hit me, I DO see Air Tractors in action where I live quite a bit (rural Texas), and they always garner my attention, watching their aerobatics maneuvering around powerlines, treelines, swooping down into fields to spray their cancer-juice onto crops... the closest thing most people now-days get to seeing barn-stormer flights. Watching crop dusters is far more satisfying than air show carousel roundy-rounds, and in the RC community... P-51's, f-18's, A-10's... almost everyone has them. Air Tractor might not have "the look" of the most popular RC planes, or even top speed, but it has the maneuverability to pull circles around the sportier models. I could be wrong, but the Air Tractor might be the low-wing evolution of the Turbo Timber.

Eflite just keeps disappointing it's customer base with these horrible and unimaginable releases. I showed this to over 20 guys at my field today and they all said pass, not interested.

Steelrain probably spends more time stroking his plane then flying it.
Often the ends of the plane wings can get chipped from landing and not being straight. Wonder if there are wing end protectors?
The long wing allows the aircraft to have a much lower stall speed because carrying a large load of liquid adds a new dimension to creating problematic issues. Those issues are helped a great deal by lowering the stall speed. Plus that plane makes a killer tow plane for sailplanes!
