@@teechindasook So satisfying when it ends up at A7! Checking on the piano here, everything is notated 2 semitones higher than it sounds? It makes sense when he plays it on the sax, sounds horrible on the piano haha...
Wdym bro. A key signature wouldn’t rly be appropriate because the line goes outside the tonal center. Notating the accidentals would also help the player when reading.
@teechindasook I strongly disagree. There's still a clear tonal center and that's helpful information for the performer, especially since the bulk of the solo is diatonic and the spicy runs do resolve. The use of chromatism, quartal lines and what not doesn't change the fact that there is a tonal center, I'd argue in fact your choice to not include the key signature obfuscates which notes are "outside" and the nature of their relationship to the progression and tonal center, for example the spelling of a d flat over an A7. I'm being snobby and nitpicking trivialities maybe, but I find things seemingly little things like that add up and can significantly slow down processing of what's on the page. I'm sorry if I'm being rude. You're playing is great BTW
Great transcription. that Dmaj run though - amazing that it works!
For sure bro! That outside run was partly the reason why I decided to transcribe this solo

It's in D major, if only someone came up with a shorthand for all of those accidentals, IDK like a key signature or something?

Good solo overall but i think the ending was not so good.
