How To Train Your Dragon is a franchise that I feel nailed the timeless classic. It grew up and matured with its audience which makes it enjoyable for everyone to watch with their parents, friends, and kids.
This music holds so many melancholy yet beautiful memories. For those of us who yearn and ache to be a part of this world instead of our own, the bittersweet mix of pain and exhilaration we feel from the movies and this soundtrack is almost unbearable. Even still at 16 years old I find myself glancing out of windows and pretending, waiting, willing a dragon to soar through the clouds. If anyone reading this in time to come feels the same, you are not alone. The feeling is called anemoia- a deep desire for a place you have never known. We feel homesick for the land of Berk, because it's almost where we grew up. But always remember that you have not lost the ability to return, in your mind, on your screens, with the music. Always remember the memories of when there were dragons, and think of the memories still to come, and when the dragons can return in peace. 🤍
I’m 21. I remember watching the first movie when I was 7, still to this day my favourite movie and I can’t help getting emotional when I hear the music. I’ve even got the strike class symbol tattooed on my left shoulder blade

Ahhh, my childhood, defined by a few notes that mean everything, and bring back all those happy times. My favorite movie series EVER, and it always will be. HTTYD is pure magic. It connects us, makes us dream, makes us hope, makes us feel safe and loved. There are many stories that I love deeply and have greatly shaped who I am, but in terms of animated movies and tv shows, HTTYD is where it all began. It has been there for me for almost as long as I can remember. It never fails to bring me that warmth and magic. Hiccup, the nerd, the underdog, the outcast. Unappreciated, he doesn't fit in with the other vikings. He's not a natural fighter, but as they would all soon discover, he was a natural leader, possibly the best they ever had. He was brave in his own way, learning to stand up for himself and what he believed in despite ridicule and doubt. He wanted so badly to belong, but it just wasn't him. He couldn't kill a dragon. He saw things differently, saw that there was pain and loss on both sides, that it wasn't really anyone's fault specifically, and that this way of life had to end. He didn't WANT to disappoint or disobey his father, but he too was headstrong and stubborn, for a good reason. Fascinated by the creatures his people were slaughtering, overpowered by curiosity and empathy, he studied and befriended Toothless, by way of lucky coincidence. They understood each other. They were both alone, and misunderstood, and unique. They pushed past the fear of vulnerability, and became stronger together. Growing to be the most important things in each others lives. A bond never seen before in the viking world. And the scrawny awkward kid who no one wanted as cheif, changed their culture forever, for the better. They saw how amazing he really was for the first time as he soared through the sky atop one of the most dangerous dragons in existence, doing what he had to do to save all of those who had never given him a chance, risking his life. He matured quickly, and learned an incredible amount about dragons. He opened the vikings minds to wonder if maybe empathy wasn't a weakness, and that listening skills and compromise and conflict resolution are important. They realized they shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. Even Daggur (don't know how to spell it) The Deranged came around eventually! (But there were still real villains out there, who were a threat to the dragons and their harmonious lifestyle with them. Eventually forcing them to let go of their revolutionary best friends, breaking all of OUR hearts.) The best, series, ever. I wish I could visit that world so badly. I wouldn't necessarily say it feels like home, but it is a huge part of me. Amazing characters, world building, character arcs, storylines, animation, voice acting, and of course, music. The transformative, powerful music, that can make us tear up in just SECONDS. That's how you know it's good! An emotional yet inspirational and comforting masterpiece, born from many talented, hard working, determined minds. HTTYD will never die as long as humans are around. We are storytellers at heart, by nature, it's who we are. It's how we communicate, it's how we learn, it's how we remember things. And THIS is not only one of the best, it's a genuine cultural phenomenon. And it's about dragons, which humans have been strangely consistently obsessed with for a LONG time. This is a story that will stick, no matter how technology changes or how old it gets. It resonates with ALL kinds of people, not a niche audience. Everyone has something to gain from experiencing it, and I am sad for anyone who never does. Stories hold the power to change the world, and it already has, and will continue to. And as we all go out into the world with this story in our hearts, we will light up our surroundings with its kind messages, rippling out, spreading joy, as it should. And the other two most significant ones are Avatar The Last Airbender, and most recently, The Owl House. The Last Airbender kept my love of animated fantasy series going as a teenager. And The Owl House got me through possibly the hardest time in my entire life as an older teenager and young adult. The world of The Owl House is the one that feels like home to me, having a profound effect on my mind and my life. If I could choose to reincanate as anyone anywhere, real or fictional, I'd choose to come back as Gus from The Owl House, and live his exact life in The Boiling Isles, having no idea it was a cartoon and no memory of my former life out here. The Owl House saved me, gave me a hand to hold onto when I was slipping and desperate and lonely. Animation is for everyone, and no one can or should even try to prove otherwise. Just watch it, enjoy it, and be amazed!

School of dragons was my safe place in bad times anyone who played should remember the viking ship event everydragon would scrable to attack it others would fly around while listening to httyd music school of dragons will be missed and oh how i loved the movies.... if i could have a wish its that school of dragons would come back so my kids could play it before it shut down again httyd will always have a place in my heart it hurts me tho to know most will never have the feeling of naming their dragon hatching it flying with hiccups suit riding the skrill and toothless alpha form sleep well yalls
