I love the respect that you showed this song and the performance. Most people who react to songs keep pausing to dissect the song and I believe that it ruins the experience. I really appreciate you guys taking it in and experiencing it the way it was intended. Good luck to you and your channel.

Your reactions were perfect! David Draiman was a Classically trained Jewish Cantor before he started Heavy Metal. His voice is both Angelic and Angry. Love from Tennessee USA.

The sign of a truly great singer or band is if they can affect your emotions. If you break out crying, the chills eg hair stands up on arms etc, you feel really relaxed or one big smile then these singers and bands have done their job properly.

May I suggest that you listen to the original Simon & Garfunkel studio recording of 1964 or even the live Central Park performance in 1981 and then listen/watch the video by Disturbed and then the video performance by Pentatonix, an acapella group. Paul Simon, the one who wrote the song in 1964 is one of the most gifted American songwriters and his song was written at time of great change in American society. That it is still relevant 60 years later shows the impact of this song. The video by Disturbed is a beautiful interpretation of the song that visually represents the alienation Paul Simon was trying to communicate. Paul Simon was so moved by the Disturbed version that he said that it was the best version. The video performance by Pentatonix is breathtaking.

You Fellows are great! So respect that you “ listened” with out “speaking” til you heard the actual words that bring the real message… it’s “tech” world today original Artists played acoustic guitars “folk” music if I may,… lol grew up with them and a Total Disturbed fan they are 1 of 100 all time heavy metals… David a trained cantor with all do respect total Family guy, look him up he even takes his piercings out when he visits family, must say this rendition should be placed in some hall of fame! This was done with such Grace and respect of another Artists message/vision they predicted!! Seen them live 10 times and counting….yah🤟✊ it’s totally about the dismissal of .. in~person, physical, eye to eye contact that stimulates us as “persons” and people wow right what happened?

It's so wonderful to see you sharing this beautiful music with your brothers, every generation should be more curious and eager to experience a broad range of music. (IMO) music broadens the mind and helps to promote deep thoughts and emotional awareness. And "David Draiman" can deliver such deeply powerful emotions with his gorgeously gritty baritone vocals. This is actually a cover song from another group that were also a legendary band from the 1960's and 70's. I'd suggest giving the original version a listen 👂 Not necessarily to compare the two, but more over to see how every artist can make a song their own by using their own artistic expressions. So, in case you're interested here's a live performance "Simon & Garfunkel - The Sound Of Silence - Madison Square Garden, NYC - 2009/10/29&30" This song is so relevant to today because the lyrics describe people "talking without speaking" and "hearing without listening" it tells the story of a dream where the singer sees people worshiping a neon god they made, representing the fake and shallow culture they are living in. The dark imagery conveys the isolation and lack of communication that we feel as a society even to this day. (In my opinion) I love both versions I think "Disturb" did an amazing job of making this song even more interesting and perhaps even demonstrating how much more relevant it is now. I really appreciated all of your reactions they were very genuine, thanx 4 sharing👍

Great band he was even sick that night and you want to see a crowd check out Metallica enter Sandman live over 1 billion people. Could you imagine playing on the stage like that and walking out even though you’re a big band already and saying that many people, after the fall of what was happening over there they couldn’t even listen to the walk man walking down the street.✌🏻🦄 AC/DC live at River plate I don’t know I stumbled across your channel. You guys seem real genuine. Thank you GEN X here so much music💜🦄

What is astonishing is Paul Simon was only 21 when he wrote this. How did he have this insight at such an age?

The point of the song is that silence breeds an apathetic mind and a passivity that allows destructive behavior. If you don't speak up....they think you agree with them. Lastly, back in the day and currently there is/was a movement to shut you up ! This is a call to action.
