This was life before the internet folks. In order to find out a player's history back then you'd have to first ask them, and like every boss in the world reading a CV, he can either call up all the references to check or just believe the guy. Souness did the latter.

@ well yeah it’s existed in some form since the 60’s. But it was the 2000’s when everyone started buying a computer and getting the internet and even then it was just to instant message each other. It was probably the 2010’s or close to it when the internet started to become what it is today and you could look up any information that you wanted. Damn in the 90’s people who were on the dole used to go to multiple job centres and claim it several times because it was all done in cash and put in a filing cabinet and there wasn’t a way of checking. Someone would have to tell on you for you to get caught.

@@SonnyK248 Nah you clearly weren't there. Started college in the late 90s and everyone had a PC in their room, my Junior high in the early 90s had a computer lab where we would go to look things up. By the mid 90s everyone started getting home computers and internet. By late 90s/early 2000 all the info in the world was online just wasn't organized well yet.

Usually when you get errors like that it is because AI is reading a script. Also suspicious when it said "George Weah cousin" not "weah's". Usually a human would pick up a missed possessive apostrophe in a script. Unusual. Great story though.
